Today I decided to close my account and to get the rest of MY money from the bank! Oooooo,No!!!! It's not possible inform me from the bank! You have to wait until tomorrow!!!
WHAY I HAVE TO WAIT FOR MY MONEY!!!??¿??!!!?????

Worst bank ever!

Worst customer service I have ever faced! employees are very rude and do not want to work. You almost have to beg for a service although you pay for it... STAY AWY FROM THAT HORRIBLE BANK!!!

The worst of the worst!

I have banked at various banks all over the world and I can confidently say the Bank Of Cyprus is the worst of them all by far!
Horrible customer service, high fees, blatant theft of funds directly from the bank in terms of fees (several 500EUR fees) without prior notification or opportunity to reject the services charged.
If you are an individual moving to Cyprus or opening a company there I urge you to stay clear of the Bank Of Cyprus!

They are the only negative experience I have had thus far on the island. There are no words to describe their service and attitude towards the clients.

Do NOT open a bank account there, do NOT invest with them, and do NOT open an insurance policy with them!

Horrible customer service and management.
Not only that they call you first hour in the morning to ask you where a deposit of only eur 500 originates from you get told 3 times during the conversation that you can close your account if you do not like it. Then you write a complaint email and no one apologizes to you. but then you stop using their services, fees apply, the account gets dormant, they send you warning letters that you owe eur 7.51 and you risk getting sued for it and you try to transfer money in order to settle the negative balance, but of course that you are unable to do so because the account is dormant and you need to reach out to the call center who, after passing all the security questions tell you that they can not activate your account and you need to phisically go and wait in line at one of their branches. so you take 2h off work (highly inconvenient), you go to the nearest branch (germasogeia) where you are told that they do not have a cashier so you go to the next branch, you wait in line for over an hour because there are only 2 staff members and when it's your turn, you get told that you can only settle your balance with cash and not some other bank's card and that u need to go back to the gentleman who initially told you to go wait in line for over 1 h. and then they wonder why you lose your sht.

SHUT IT DOWN WORST BANK EVER

Everything is wrong with this bank.
SHUT IT DOWN!
The employees are uneducated, they all have jobs there because they know someone...entire families work there.
They get promoted because of seniority or how long they have been working at the bank not because they have a degree or experience.
They have jobs not careers. Their career is going to the hairdresser, having their nails done going to restaurants only to be seen, trips to Athens to shop at the same stores that are also in cyprus (so they can brag about prestige)
Their behaviour patterns consist of entitlement, arrogance, boredom, can't be bothered attitude except if there is good gossip then they pay attention...all the patterns of non hireable individuals which eventually will lead a company/ corporation into dissasaster and failure... in the case of The Bank of Cyprus Everything is a dissaster.
Their app is a nightmare...even the IT department can't make sense of it.
There is no communication within the bank, employees and departments are not cohesive.
I can write a book but that would be a waste of my time.
DO NOT USE THIS Bank...you will loose your money and they will make your life miserable!!

This bank is absolutely shocking

This bank is absolutely shocking. They have no interest in their customers at all. It has been my misfortune to open an account with them after experiencing the truly awful Helenic bank in Cyprus.
I originally wanted my account at the Polis branch of BOC but was told I couldn't and would have to go to Coral Bay Pegia. The counter staff in this branch are simply non existant. There is rarely more than 1 cashier with a queue of around 6-8 people. You can easilly waste an hour or more every time you visit.
They are certainly NOT customer focused.
The manager needs to do something about his staffing levels and organise the staff to efficiently deal with customers by organising non cash transactions to be dealt with in the back office rather than clog up the cashiers. It isn't rocket science!!!

€42 year for a small account

BoC charge me €6 every three months just to have an account with them. They also charge €7.5 the year for something and they charge everybody €10 for the 1bank app. It’s about €42 the year for my account. I earn €1000 the month

Bank of Cyprus is pretending to…

Bank of Cyprus is pretending to register online new clients. But that is not true at all, I never seen an App that have all the bugs in the world. Ive tried to register online but after 20 trials I stopped. Even didnt pass the face checking process! I lost time for nothing!

Worst experience ever

It is by far the worst service I have been using in Cyprus. The staff is not trained properly and have no interest in haloing you. Overall I find them rude, uninterested in helping customer and very slow. Their website and application may look modern and all but when you visit any branch you quickly realise they are nowhere near what they say they are. 20 years behind the rest of the world to say the least!

Terrible bank, high fees and bad support.

Terrible bank with lots of hidden fees. The one time I needed help, they were unable to provide it:

The app is full of bugs, and my account was locked without my knowledge for weeks, preventing me from processing transactions due to the faulty app and costing me 4 hours of my holiday time and 300€ extra in rental fees.

highly recommending to stay away from this "bank" for all tourists!!

I would have rated this "institution" with minus 10 but unfortunately 0 is a minimum grade! I'm a tourist who came to Paphos for nearly 3 weeks (it will be def my last trip ever to Cyprus). When I tried to get some money from ATM which belongs to this bank at Kings Avenue Mall in Paphos, as result, ATM swallowed my card and since days I tried to manage how to get it back. Eventually, custom service tried to help me anyhow and called me 4 days later to provide with details where I can pick up my card. Same time he mentioned that he wasn't sure if I get it back since it was not a credit or debit card but a compensation card which I have gotten from my airlines last year (it's a common practice for any solid airlines to take care of customers) with a certain balance due to delayed flight. Unfortunately, people here having no idea what compensation card means. Anyway, I went to branch number 0676 in Paphos where my card was kept and first I had to speak with one very arrogant employee, who barely understood English yet I tried to explain it several times anything. After I shown her all confirmations, all my personal docs, she said that maybe I should call to custom service again!!? I thought she might be kidding me. Afterwards, I had a talk with manager of this brach as far as I understood but I was speechless about stupidity and arrogant behaviour she has had. She told me that since ATM took my card, and it doesn't matter if there is a name on it or not, there must be something very strange with this card (??) and bank has to destroy it! I said that if she keeps my card without any serious reasons but her personal assumptions (card is valid until 2027 and considering that I still had a certain amount on it, I had to get it back), she has to provide me as an official representative of this bank with a paper or any written confirmation that she takes my card! She responded that since it was not her who took my card but ATM (I was speechless about such a nonsense comment) she is not "authorised" to give me any paper which confirms that they took my card. Frankly speaking, I think if such a case happened in Austria or Switzerland or Germany or any other country, and the bank would have taken my card without any explanation, the police would be immediately there. But since in this country is total mess and no any regulations, no wonder. I complained that I'll bring this case to public and media in Austria let alone all possible social nets, so that tourists stay away from this "bank" but she didn't care. As well, I took a video of this woman while she was talking to me arrogant but she began to complain she would call to police which would be very interesting - she took my card without explaining any adequate reason, i.e sort of stealing, but same time she wants to call to police due to filming her. I strongly believe that they treat all foreigners this way, although we bring money to this country. Such a shame!!
Luckily, my airlines company got this case, had to block the card immediately and wired me the remaining amount to my Austrian bank account.

Terrible customer support

Terrible customer support. I've been trying to open a bank account, I provided dozens of documents required, I'm already registered officially in Cyprus and getting my permit in a few days but still 0 help from the bank. Been waiting for my account for more than 3 weeks.

Horrible and slow customer service

Horrible and slow customer service. Everyhing is manual like the 90s a simple bank visit could easily take over an hour assuming they would be able to help you that is. The cashier desks seldom got more than one employee present making the waiting time ridiculous..

Ακόμα περιμένω την απάντηση της BOC. Ή μπορεί να θεώρησαν ότι το θέμα τελείωσε με το τηλεφώνημα από τον αριθμό 22128021 στις 4. 3.2024 στις 13:16, το όποιο διήρκησε 3 λεπτά και 41 δευτερόλεπτα? Ο κύριος διευθυντής της εξυπηρέτησης πελατών, του οποίου δυστυχώς δεν θυμάμαι το όνομα του, μου υποσχέθηκε ότι θα πάρω για την ταλαιπωρία εκτός από το συγνώμη και κάποιος βαθμούς ανταμοιβής και το ποσό του εισιτηρίου του έκλεισα - δεν έκλεισα λόγω της δυσλειτουργίας των συστημάτων της τράπεζας. Και ότι θα ειδοποιηθώ γραπτώς. Αυτό ήταν πριν δύο μήνες, σαν " αστραπή " είνα η ταχύτητα τους...Πάντως το ποσό του εισιτηρίου, το προσφέρω για δημιουργία ταμείου εκπαίδευσης του ΙΤ team της BOC, επειδή αναρωτιέμαι, αν έχει προσόντα και γνώσεις ή είναι κάποια " παπαγαλάκια " που έμαθαν τις σωστές απαντήσεις για τους υπεύθυνους προσωπικού και προϊστάμενους. Επειδή τα χάλια παραμένουν. Έχω ηλικιωμένους γονείς στο εξωτερικό, έτσι χρειάζομαι να ταξιδεύω συχνά. Στις 23.4. 2024 γύρω στις 22:15 πήγα να δω πρώτα τις τιμές των εισιτηρίων, μετά έκανα μεταφορά χρημάτων από το λογαριασμό του ταμιευτηρίου στο λογαριασμό της κάρτας, έλεγξα την στην 1bank και μετά πήγα να τα αγοράσω. Η πρώτη συναλλαγή οκ, η δεύτερη δεν ολοκληρώθηκε για λόγους υπόλοιπου λογαριασμού. Έλεος! Έτσι αναγκάστηκα να κάνω άλλη μεταφορά, για να αγοράσω και το εισιτήριο επιστροφής. Και την επόμενη μέρα 24. 4. στις 8:00 μου ήρθε μήνυμα ότι ο λογαριασμός ταμιευτηρίου πιστώθηκε πίσω με το ποσό της πρώτης μεταφοράς. ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ : ΑΝΤΙΛΟΓΙΣΜΟΣ !!!

Ripping off my remaining money

Ripping me off my remaining money. When you complain and to check for technical errors in the costumer service then its your fault. They just don't care if they deduct you without notifications plus they just rely on what they see not on how bad you feel. They won't explain to you what happened because they're just sitting there and gossiping. They really don't care at all.

1 star to this bank ?? If I have chance to put review in minus - I would do that. Unprofessional staff here in Pafos, Cyprus. They are just passing time don't care for the customer problems. Anyone is coming from the door speaking same language and been served. In the bank is written OPENING YOUR FIRST BANK ACCOUNT IS JUST A SCAN AWAY. Imagine I'm waiting for last 4 months to open my account and till today not opened. I called customer service from them not a proper response. I go bank not a proper response. Totally pathetic service and opening a bank account is become scandal here. Everytime I come they ask SAME DOCUMETS AGAIN AND AGAIN and after nothing. DISASTER 😫
