Good website to plan your build
Used it 2 times when I was planning to get a new pc for my parents and half a year ago when upgrading. Both times everything turned out great and I had no compatibility issues whatsoever. My only problem with pcpartpicker is that it doesn't have all the parts in its database, sometimes even if they aren't recent releases (around 1-2 years old)
totally unreliable,almost every…
totally unreliable, almost every videocard is compatible with a certain motherboard, yeah right.check your motherboard on its own site and compare compatibility ,thats the only way to choose your videocard
Faily Decent
the place is a great site to pick your pc parts, and for those saying things like "oh the compatability checker is wrong" or something, why didn't you open up google and looked up the info you needed on your own? anyway, my main issue you can see in the "case accessories" where basically 90% of the things have been out of stock for quite a while, it would be nice if pcpartpicker did something like remove the items from the list if the item had been out of stock for more than a certain amount of time
litterally perfect
literally the perfect website for if you want to pick parts for a PC
Does a great job for what it's supposed to do
There's not too much to say about the site as it just works, it's very easy to quickly put together a part list with no hassle whatsoever.
The only thing I think they could improve is adding more retailers, but other than that it's fine as is.
This is a brilliant website
This is a brilliant website, thank you so much for setting up and maintaining such a useful site. Absolutely invaluable for building a pc.
A couple of small suggestions, at least one of the retailers, Newegg.com, do not include GST in their pricing (with area set to Australia), as they are not Australian based. They also charge pretty extortionate postage so the pricing is not very indicative of true cost. They look like the cheapest but are actually the most expensive once these factors are taken into account. It is easy to remove them from the merchant list though so not a huge deal.
It would be good if it was indicated which sellers charge for freight and which do not (there is a shipping column but it is mostly empty).
Also if I could recommend an Australian seller missing - cplonline.com.au.
If you need volunteers to help maintain information accuracy I would be happy to. Cheers.
They haven't got all the items
They haven't got all the items I was looking for as they must have removed it for some reason like the MSI Tomahawk Max motherboard. It was on there before but not now? Why? Not all items are on the list, must have done this during Covid-19 as it was fine before. It need a revamp.
pre-made PC section is amazing
I am looking through their pre-made PC towers and i am quite impressed with it. i love how u can go to the websites of each part and check reviews on that part.
I also love the fact that it try's to find the cheapest of that part on the market
I hope this review is not misleading for anyone because i have not tried the compatibility test yet but the pre-made PC section is absolutely wonderful.
No longer reliable or accurate
Used to be a great site and really reliable, but used it recently for a new pc build and it was wrong about almost *every* part being compatible. I had to run back and forth to best buy in the worst of times because it was wrong.
From my experience, fairly good overall.
From my experience, PCPartPicker is a great website, as it allows you to create an account to save any parts list you've created so that you don't have to remember them. It also has deep filters that make searching for PC parts a heck of a lot easier, so I really like this website.
Used to be reliable and first class
Used to be reliable and first class, but inclusions of parts and prices now so unreliable as to make the site unusable
Took a few minutes to sign in
Took a few minutes to sign in, but is a good website!
Update - It was not even logged in when I logged in!
Very expensive lesson :(
I started to have an i7-7700 CPU and was able to install and run Windows 7 Pro 64 bit but when I was running the Windows Update is begin to install lots of updates and then it got to a point where it gave me a message that said that my CPU is incompatible with Windows 7.
PCPartPicker confirmed that my CPU was incompatible with Windows 7, so after a year of saving money, I then returned to this website to find out what system can run Windows 7 and at the same time are strong enough to run the games I'm playing.
After spending some time to find all the right parts that PCPartPicker claimed to be fully compatibe with Windows 7, I then bought the i7-8700 + all the other parts I found but when I got Windows 7 installed, then I ran into the exact same problem when I was running Windows Updates as I did on my older system.
PCPartPicker made me waste all the money that I have spend over a year to get, so I'm really upset about this and can't get the money back, so that I could build another system that is fully compatible with Windows 7 and so I can install all the updates there is without facing this annoying incompatible message that I get after a suddent point.
I like the idea to be able to go to a website that can help me and other to show what is compatible or not but PCPartPicker has proven to me that it's not fully capable to offer that kind of help, so I'm very disappointed.
Great for planning a PC build
Great for planning a PC build. Has some disreputable sellers in the price check list, but you can hide them when you log in.
My friend helped me build my first …
My friend helped me build my first gaming PC with this site. You've got everything here - from mobos, CPUs, GPUs to mouse pads and keyboards. And what more, u can check if the stuff you have picked are compatibile with each other.
Definately use this website if you're building a custom gaming PC
This website is awesome. I've spent countless hours just messing around on it building random PCs. Absolutely perfect if building a PC from light gaming to a godlike 4K VR behemoth. I only have one problem with it, some of the sites they recommend make me a bit concerned, and there isn't prices for every item they sell, but nevertheless it is an awesome website to build your dream gaming PC.
Very Usefull
Its the best site to assemble a pc of your specs and price but you can never be sure about the sites they reccomend
