Terrible Experience…
I ordered a mattress for my caravan from Made2measure mattresses on 18/2/2023 and paid £574.98. This included a £24.99 delivery charge. I am currently living in my caravan whilst I renovate my house, and decided to buy a new mattress. I had booked a week away the week after the mattress was scheduled to arrive, and disposed of my old mattress the day before delivery.
On the day of delivery, I took the morning off work and the mattress arrived. I lifted the mattress in the caravan and soon realised that it was completely the wrong shape / size from the one I had ordered. I called the driver who was two minutes away (I could see the van driving away in the distance) and he refused to turn around and collect it.
I phoned Made2measure mattresses and spoke to a member of staff. I was offered £100 compensation if I were to bring the mattress back to the Midlands and they would make me a new one. I explained that they were 600 miles away (return trip), and I would have to cancel my week away (plus I still had no mattress to sleep on). I said £200 would cover the fuel / camp site cancellation fee etc I was told this was not possible. I then asked them to collect the mattress and told them I would write about my experience on Trustpilot - to warn other people about my experience.
30 minutes later Ben - the owner of the company phoned me, shouting down the phone that I was a “Tw#t and a low life. I put the phone down on him. He phoned me back shouting again that I was a “keyboard warrior” threatening to write a bad report about his company. I remained calm and civilised, and reminded him that his calls were rude and he was harassing me. I put the phone down, and he called me back a third time - I refused to answer.
I contacted PayPal (thank god I paid with a reputable company) and started processing my refund. I had no wish to contact Ben or deal with Made2measure mattresses ever again. PayPal replied that Made2measure mattresses were refusing to refund the £24.99 delivery fee - even though the mattress was completely wrong and I had to take a morning off work (for delivery), and an afternoon off work for collection.
Seven (7) weeks later, I am still waiting for PayPal’s decision, and I am still almost £600.00 out of pocket. I am still holding out for a full refund, and not just a partial one from a very rude & unprofessional owner (Ben) at Made2measure mattresses. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company at all costs….
