The cruise faced some issues due to the low water levels on the Danube but that is beyond their control and they navigated their way through those areas with some itinerary changes. I really enjoyed the cruise, the ships crew were all welcoming and helpful. The meals were great and even though iced tea is not a "thing" so much in Europe the wait staff made it up for me any time I asked. The trip to Melk Abbey was great. Highly recommend the Amadeus Cruise line, on par with the other well known heavily advertised cruise ships costing much more.
Had a wonderful cruise with Great Rail Journeys (GRJ) on the Danube. Cruise Director, Manager, and ship crew were outstanding! They did a fantastic job making adjustments to compensate for low water levels on the river, and we were able to visit all the sites listed on our itinerary with minimal motor coach rides. Tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Our accomodations were clean and comfortable, refreshed at least daily. The food was superb, and plenty of it! Daily entertainment on board was well planned and fun, and included musical and dance entertainment. We will definitely book another river cruise with GRJ.
Absolutely beautiful ship and a relaxing,enjoyable experience.
My first riverboat cruise and you exceeded my expectations. Meals were great, communication about all events was exceptional, tours were well done. The tour guides added so much to the experience with their personal stories. Charles lectures on WW 1 & 2 were a nice surprise and really gave perspective of the past into the present. Andrew and Alex went above and beyond for me by tracking down my missing Kindle and insisted on mailing it to me at no charge to me. All the staff were gracious, kind and attentive. We continued our travels by visiting Switzerland. I recommended GRJ to everyone I met. I will do the same when I return to the states.

Wonderful trip despite itinerary was hampered by low river conditions. The ship staff and tour directors went above and beyond to make it a great experience. We are already planning our next trip with Great Rail Journeys for next year. This was our 2nd trip on Amadeus cruise line and both were outstanding.
