Reliable and comfortable vehicle, good service, friendly staff

Vorab: Laut FAQ muss man alle 2 Tage auf einer Powered Site übernachten. Für Freecamping ist das nichts.
Schon nach wenigen Metern leuchtete die Airbag-Warnleuchte noch, also fuhren wir zurück und warteten nochmals mindestens 30 Minuten. Beim Hotel sprang der Camper dann nicht mehr an. Die Hotline meinte, es liege nicht an der Batterie, bis es stank und rauchte. Ein Kabel war abgebrannt, vermutlich wegen der Airbag-Reparatur, das Problem wurde also selbst verursacht. Mein Arzttermin war dem Mitarbeiter am Telefon egal, ich musste ein Taxi nehmen. Nach unzähligen Telefonaten bekamen wir um 17 Uhr einen Ersatzcamper (grösser, als Gratis-Upgrade). Da hatte in Darwin aber alles geschlossen, und der Camper war nicht geladen.
Am nächsten Tag konnten wir die Handys nicht laden, denn die zwei USB-Steckdosen aussen sind nutzlos. Auch die Hotline wusste keine Lösung, und wir durften auf ihre Kosten einen 12-Volt-Adapter kaufen, den nicht mal die Filiale hatte. Nach zwei Nächten ohne Strom gab der Kühlschrank auf, die Batterie war im roten Bereich und das Solarpanel stark verschmutzt. Die Klimaanlage heizte statt zu kühlen, und die Seitentür klemmte, und das nach nur 2 Tagen. Der Kühlschrank fror entweder alles ein oder taute auf. Die Batterie hielt ohne Laden nur 3 bis 4 Tage.
Am Uluru erschien an einem Sonntag die AdBlue-Fehlermeldung. Die Garage war zu, und die Hotline riet, einfach weiterzufahren und bei Bedarf anzurufen, was ohne Empfang unrealistisch ist. Die Meldung kam am nächsten Tag wieder.
Bei der Rückgabe in Alice Springs drängte die Mitarbeiterin zum Taxi, dabei vergassen wir unser zweites Handy. Die Suche danach war halbherzig, und es wurde nicht gefunden.
Fazit: Die Camper sind in schlechtem Zustand, kaum gewartet, billig ausgebaut und für das Gebotene nicht günstig. Die Mitarbeiter hatten wenig Ahnung, und ich bezweifle, dass Probleme wirklich behoben werden. In Neuseeland hatten wir ein älteres Modell einer anderen Firma und keinerlei Probleme, auch nicht beim Freecamping. Auch wenn wir den verlorenen Tag ersetzt bekamen: Ich habe viel Zeit, Mühe und Nerven investiert und noch ein Handy verloren. Ich werde nie mehr bei THL buchen.

Feel I deserve a refund as couldn’t sleep on bed this is one of the reasons I hired a campervan.

Great staff at Alice Springs office, so very helpful and friendly. Lots of local knowledge and no question too hard to answer. Both the return and pickup process was a breeze.

Our experience with Josh at Alice Springs was fantastic. We were heading to Uluru on the Stuart highway when just inside the city limits something hit the right side stationary window hard and actually put a hole in it shattering the glass We were close to the facility and it was early morning. We explained to Josh that we
needed a motorhome to finish our journey. Within one and a half hours Josh found us a replacement vehicle and we were on our way. Even at drop off he was very efficient and had us on our way in no time as we had a flight to Brisbane

Pick up and drop off of motorhome very smooth….vehicle went well except for flat tyre….the wheel lugs were so tightly on that it was impossible to for me to get the wheel off to change it for the spare….but for some help from a person who had specialist gear I would not have been able to change the tyre….the motorhome could do with a portable step 2 tea towells not one and much better pillows…..overall though a great experience

Crew at Alice Springs were excellent upon pick-up and return. Vehicle, Hitop, had everything provided and was really neat and clean. All I had to do was buy food and drinking water and was then off on the West MacDonnell Ranges road trip.

As a whole everything run smoothly. Experiencing the Outback and its unique features was great.
