Despite selling a nice range of outdoor equipment I have to say customer engagement from the staff was zero. How can you work in a place that sells high end outdoor goods and give zero service and not even acknowledge a customer with a smile or a hello . Absolutely disgraceful in store customer service .

Great selection of clothing and footwear. Iain listened to what I thought I wanted and then gave me great advice on what I should consider. He was very knowledgeable about the ranges of walking shoes, and I got a good price for the pair I chose.

We ordered our tent online well in advance of our trip, but it didn’t arrive. I tried the courier and Blacks customer services to get a resolution, but to no avail. In the end, I rang our nearest Blacks store which was Harrogate, and the staff in there were absolutely brilliant!!! In fact, they saved our summer holiday! Iain was exceptional. The whole team were lovely, and did all they could to compensate for the delay, and to source the tent for us to get us on our way for our first family camping trip. I havnt received customer service like it, and will now always go in store first! Not only that, they provided lots of helpful advice too - very knowledgable. Just brilliant!

Friendly staff always have what I need in stock

Ordered a pair of Merrell walking shoes online - the only store relatively close by was that had stock was Harrogate. The staff there were really friendly, polite and helpful.
The shoes are brilliant - sizing is accurate, they were like carpet slippers straight out of the box, and I've covered around 70 miles in the Lakes in them upto now.

Tom R was extremely knowledgeable about the wet and dry food packs and took the time to help me find suitable gluten-free options for someone with coeliac disease. His advice was clear, informative, and made choosing the right products much easier. Excellent customer service, I really appreciated his expertise and support.

Very friendly and helpful without being too pushy.

My son has to gather a few things for his upcoming DofE excursion and Tom R was very helpful in getting us sorted. He assisted us the last time we were in there and remembered us so he k ew exactly how to help. Highly recommend Blacks and Tom! 👍

Tom R served myself in purchasing a pair of walking boots. He was extremely helpful at aiding me to find those best suited to my needs and foot shape and was clearly knowledgeable. I very much enjoyed my experience due to Tom’s super customer service and have walked away with a pair of walking boots as intended and feeling very happy with my experience.

Having once again left Cotswold outdoors without making a purchase, this time vowing to never return due to terrible customer service, we were very happy to receive an altogether warmer and more professional service from Lauren & the rest of the staff at Blacks. Lauren showed real product knowledge, we were buying hiking shoes, and kindness. Fantastic shopping evening at Harrogate opening event. Well crafted food and drink, great music, we bought new gear which we love but the highlight has to be the fabulous staff who made the evening so much fun. We look forward to returning

The Manger and his staff were most helpful.
They were very patient and informative. It was a most enjoyable experience buying a Paramo Smock and some funny leggings for her ladyship.

I bought an Osprey Athos AG 65 a great pack with excellent features. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size. I returned the pack to my local branch (Harrogate) and without fuss they raised a refund and my account has been credited back. The staff were all super friendly and helpful I would certainly recommend them. I have since purchased the same pack but the right size. Thanks
