Zero stars review regarding Lidl unable to count regarding Lidl Plus and due to Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) under Groceries Market Investigation (Controlled Land) Order 2010
Zero stars review regarding Lidl unable to count regarding Lidl Plus and due to Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) under Groceries Market Investigation (Controlled Land) Order 2010.
Only four points instead of 6.
Then the CMA found out that Lidl was not counting items 40% under.
With each kind of crisps not counted so for example salt and vinegar, cheese and onion and prawn cocktail would be counted as one not three therefore Lidl were under estimating the numbers of different items on the shelves.
I really like lidl But
I really like lidl and was so happy when they opened a new store in Wantage OX12. I would have given 5 stars but they have no shopping baskets and stopped using the shallow trolley. They only have deep trollies now that hurt my back putting produce in/out. Only store I know that have stopped using them and baskets. Surely they know it was a mistake and start using them again
Poor Customer Service
Poor Customer Service
At Lon-Wembley stadium store, August 11, 2026 time 13.50, stacking shelves seems to be the main priority for staff, with customer service coming a distant second.
The store has a long-standing policy of under-staffing the tills, pushing customers towards self-service checkouts, which often aren’t staffed either. This means the checkout operator has to abandon their till and queue to resolve issues.
There have even been times when one staff member is juggling a checkout, the self-service tills, and putting out newspapers.
While Lidl staff are expected to multi-task, this feels excessive.
Today, just after the store opened, I asked the assistant stocking the bread if they had a specific loaf. They told me they had two pallets of bread to put out and suggested I walk around the store and come back to the bread display later. Basically, it felt like they were saying, “Go away and check for yourself later once I’ve finished my job.”
Just to be clear, I’m not blaming the staff member, but the store management. They’re the ones who set the staff schedules, assign tasks, and should be responsible for making sure the store is properly stocked before opening.
After collecting the goods that I need to the checkout point, a leady staff was working with full of anger, she started to scream any cry telling me hurry up, my manager told me to close the county. I told her relax do not scream just finish and take my payment then close, then I’ll of asudden she told me I don’t care and I denied to serve you, she throw away my money and stay away, then some other staff came to take my payment. That make me really shocked.

I had Lidl Plus then told needed to upgrade phone so did that and still can't use Lidl Plus. Phone call was to robot and useless - needed to speak to a person. Given up... will get a few things from Lidl and the main shopping from Tesco - disappointed. Would have given a 0 if it was an option. Get a person to ring 07791513450 if to repair problem.

Poor service
We visited the Mablethorpe store and with it being a holiday resort it was very busy.
We purchased quite a few items and with the store being busy and the lack of open checkouts we reluctantly used the self service checkouts that to be honest I try and avoid.
All went well until we came to scanning the French stick, no barcode, I noticed the hovering operative virtually next to me and asked how to scan it through, well I was shocked by her negative answer, she looked me straight in the face and said “Look it up” with no explanation or direction on how to do that. Sorry to say that brought out the worst in me, I am doing the businesses job for them by scanning my own shopping and when I hit a snag I get a negative answer. This operative soon realised what she had done and tried to redeem herself but unfortunately offered no apology!!!
What if I had a disability like being dyslexic and was unable to “look things up”
Terrible service Lidl Mablethorpe, think you need to review your training and customer service.
First time
First time, The store absolutely clean and well stocked,
Learning my way round was ok, got the biggest onions ever lol. Then got to the check out. That team member was not good nor helpful at all and rude.

Prices are good but that's about all it's got going for it. The range and choice of goods is very poor, so you end up having to shop elsewhere to buy items that are commonplace even in small corner stores. Not being able to scan as you shop is another bugbear because going through the tills can be a nightmare with some cashiers virtually throwing your shopping at you. Personally I prefer to go elsewhere and maybe pay a little more, but overall the shopping experience is so much better.
LIDL IN PRICE AND DISGUSTING IN QUALITY
LIDL IN PRICE AND DISGUSTING IN QUALITY.
Why Lidl GB sell poor quality food whilst in Italy and Germany is a completely different story?
I bought lately a smoked salmon supposedly from Scotland.
Whoever decided to stock that stuff should be dismissed.
Salty, thick pieces, not sliced, all stuck in one block as there was no film.
Daylight fraud! Criminal offence committed!
Lidl Pistachio ice cream/ chocolate…
Lidl Pistachio ice cream/ chocolate lolly.
Chocolate flavour very strong ABSOLUTELY no pistachio flavour at all. The only good thing about them is the colourful box they are packed in.
Don’t waste your money, they are terrible.

I have just been in the Pemberton store in Wigan
One checkout open that had a massive que,So i was forced to use the self scan
This was a nightmare due to the items I had. Then I dropped my receipt in my bag. I turned to exit the store and they have got some stupid system in place, that you have to scan the receipt to leave. I had to mess about trying to find my receipt at the bottom of my bag. Stupid system I will be going to Aldi in future.

The High Protein Rice Pudding has recently been changed and is the most vile thing I've ever tasted. It used to be great and for some reason the recipe changed recently. Whoever approved this must not have taste buds!
Lidl Netherfield
Lidl Netherfield, Nottingham. I don’t visit this store very often and only go in because I’ve run out of a few bits. Previous visits sometimes involved long queues, half empty shelves, fresh produce past its sell by date. Some other visits have included rudeness to the point of aggression from check out staff. Today was no different, unfortunately, regarding staff.
Lidl, please consider some self service tills in this store. It would help with the one person serving on a till scenario and a queue building up. And customers can avoid any unhappy, rude staff.

I bought their vemondo XXL Tofu 2 pk and one of the packs had a toenail in it, I contacted lidl customers service and they were unhelpful and obstructive they asked for more product details than were on the pack.
I was informing them so they could investigate I don't care about the outcome asbi won't be shopping at lidls
PS their vegan range misses the point by putting everything in plastic
I am extremely disappointed with the…
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Lidl Bolton store. I visited the store to return an item, but my return was refused without a clear explanation or any genuine effort to help resolve the issue.
As a customer, I expected a professional, respectful, and fair approach. Instead, I felt that my concerns were dismissed, which left me feeling frustrated and undervalued. Good customer service is not only about selling products but also about dealing with customers fairly when problems arise.
I hope Lidl reviews the way returns are handled at this store and provides better training to staff so that customers are treated with respect and consistency. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in shopping at Lidl, and I will think twice before returning.
Lidl Falmouth
Lidl Falmouth. Staff were wonderful but the self scanning checkout malfunctioned five times during checkout. No tokens available for trolleys and general store experience was poor.
WOW!
WOW!! Thorne Lidl what a disgusting show of customer service. These staff members must hate their jobs?
Another till wasnt opened till approx 6 people were queuing with trollies. Same as yesterday!
No baskets at entrance but loads near checkouts whilst one assistant stood their with a face like medusa as she saw people struggling for baskets!!!
It's not the above which is bad service but the standard of rudeness and unhelpfulness from some of the staff! Miserable faces bad attitudes no assistance for items I could not find. I have a sight disability so sometimes need help to locate small items.
I'm not surprised this company has a less than two rating if the standard of customer service is across the board in all their stores.
To Lidl staff.......do not forget we PAY YOUR WAGES!!! if you don't like working there then do us all a favour and leave. Give somebody with a more pleasant demeanour a chance of employment
Shame on you Lidl and your recruitment process. Oh by the way the manager isn't much better!
Never used to be this bad. Either management has changed or training and recruitment.
Won't be back and I spend over 300 quid a week here.!
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Purchased set of car seat covers which were quite cheap.Took them home and unboxed them realising they would simply not fit my car seats. In addition, the quality was shocking with the material tissue thin.Returnec them to the store but just couldn't find the receipt.Customer service refused to take them back.I offered to print off bank statement but they still refused.
What you hear of is not what you get
I only shop here at Wood Green Lidl because they are cheaper like Aldi whereas other larger stores are more expensive, but their product ranges are poor, i guess you get what you pay for. In particular their box of fruit offer for £2 which they have been doing for 'years'. Yesterday for the first time I wanted to see what they had in the box as my daughter showed me what she picked up at the Angel Edmonton store. I got to the store at 7.05am as early as possible to get the best, was shockingly disappointed, as the trolley didnt come out until 3/4 hour later and with no announcement, just a sneaky placement, while I waited around and in the end the fruit and veg produce was disappointing so I wont be doing this box of fruit again at Wood Green. Their aisles too are so narrow and they wheel their trolleys laden with cases to stack shelves with so fast that it won't be long before someone gets badly hurt
Greenock Lidl
Greenock Lidl. Takes ages for anyone to approve at the self serve check outs. Very short staffed. Considered leaving items at the counter and walking out numerous times. No way of alerting staff.
