1st Time on my own
So you have booked your appointment. You are anxious, nervous, apprehensive about your pick up at the airport, the clinic, is it going to cost more, is it going to hurt and so on.
Airport. Walked out of the terminal and along the line of taxi drivers. My taxi was there with my name on the board. Taken straight to the hotel 15 to 20 mins.
Hotel. Booked in as soon as I got there (1.30am) and taken and shown round my room. Just what I had expected.
Breakfast is continental but there is lots of choice.
Most of the people at the hotel were having work done at the clinic.
My appointment was for 9.30. and there was others with appointments around the same time. So you would think they would take you all up together?.
No. They pick you up and take you to the clinic, you all have your own transport! (About 10 mins).
The taxi door opens and the doors to the clinic opens and they are there to greet you. They talk to you as they take you up to your room. Everyone saying hello to you and big smiles. My worries just melted away, I felt calm and relaxed.
You have your x-ray, a full scan x-ray. Then you are taken to see the dentist and Deniz the coordinator. They look at your scans and go through with you what you are looking for and what they can do. Then you sit down with Deniz and go through what shade you want your teeth and what sort of style of teeth you want. He then goes through the cost.
I was quoted a cost before I went, but this was dependent on the x-ray when I got there. so I was expecting it to cost more. But no, they only did what was needed to do to give me the perfect smile. There was no up-sale at all.
Your contract is drawn up, they give you plenty of time to read it. Then you go and pay.
You're taken back to your room to have a chill, then you are taken down to your dentist.
I was in the chair for 3 1/2 hours. which seems a long time, but there was a lot of work to-do. Did it hurt? I'd have to say no. Was it sore? yes. Was it uncomfortable? - yes. But with all the work i had done it was no where near as bad as I have had in the UK. I had two teeth out as well, they was just roots though. No pain at all and done in a couple of minutes.
You are then taken back up to your private room for a rest till your temporary teeth are ready. This took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Your temporary teeth take about 10 mins to fit. All the time you are there the staff are always asking are you ok, can we do any thing for you, nothing is to much trouble. You do get a 'goody' bag, with mouthwash, toothbrush, pain killers and antibiotics if needed.
Before you go Deniz chats with you to check your ok and what happens next and that they will WhatsApp you to tell you when you coming back.
Then taxi back to your hotel.
I have to say I had no pain, yes my mouth was a bit sore, but that was it.
The temporary teeth are fine ( i'd have been happy with them lol ) bit hard to eat with and rough at the back. But there only in for a few days.
1 to 2 rest days to do what you want. I went on a lovely walk and did some sightseeing!
Teeth Fitting. Taken to your room where you can chill out till they are ready for you.
Taken down to your dentist. He takes out the temporary teeth and has a good clean around. I had no anaesthetic for this and it was fine. He then started to check the teeth in your mouth. Now if you think this won't take long, think a gain, they are perfectionists!. If they are not right they send them back to their lab. So it can be a long day. But when there happy and you are happy with them, they are finally fitted in.
I have to say this can be uncomfortable and a bit sore. But nothing too bad.
Again the staff, dentist, Deniz can not be more helpful or do enough for you.
To say I'm over the moon with my teeth is an understatement. They are fantastic. And everyone at home thinks the same.
Thank you Smile dental for a fantastic experience
Ill see you next year for a check up and some other work.
Best Regards
Chris O
