High-cost project, no usable delivery, and unresolved handover
We engaged 101Digital to develop a bespoke software system, with total payments approaching six figures. The project was expected to be completed within approximately 6–9 months.
After around 15 months, the project remained incomplete. The developer then terminated the engagement without a completed handover or transition process.
More than eight months later, we are still not in possession of the project repository or any form of delivery that would allow the system to be accessed, operated, or continued. At no point has delivery been completed in a form that would allow practical use of the system.
Although we were informed that code would be provided, no successful transfer has been completed and access has not been secured. Communication ceased before confirming that delivery had been received and was usable.
In our view, a development project of this scale and nature requires a complete and functional handover, including access to repositories, relevant credentials, and sufficient supporting information to allow continuity. This has not been achieved.
As a result, we have incurred significant additional time and cost to mitigate the situation and continue operations by rebuilding the system from scratch with a new developer.
The matter is now subject to ongoing legal proceedings.
