I have stayed at the Elie site 3 times…
I have stayed at the Elie site 3 times in the last 2 years and the only reason I did this is because my daughter wanted to borrow our caravan for our grand kids so who could say no.
From the first visit the pitches are far too small and I am sure would not be within fire regulations like the Caravan and Motorhome sites or the Camping and Caravan sites, however if you stay near to the park and entertainments it's really noisy most of the time. Second visit near the toilet block which I thought would be great since I had 3 grandchildren with us but no, parties keep us up most of the night and in the morning the door from the toilet block started banging from 6am, you would think they could install soft close doors.
The third time we went we had the beach front view second row in fact C19, this again was at my daughters request, first impressions the pitches are far too small as stated before on the up side this area is quiet no real problem of noise until at least after 9am with people running around enjoying their holiday. Unfortunately because the pitches are so close to each other and Awnings and rotary dryers encroach on you space and then people try to cut through you area my car has ended up with two really nasty scratches, one which goes around about half of the left side clearly a child on small bike or someone with a buggy, the second rather nasty as it has been a small collision which we assume would be a bike but will result in the door being fully resprayed.
Do Abbeyford Leisure care about these problems, no car is at your own risk.
However in saying this it is a absolutely beautiful area, great walks, stunning views, fantastic beaches for all water sports.
This is definitely not a 5 star site in anyway at all the pup prices are expensive and the food is well okay if you are hungry.
However in saying this I would have given at least 3.5 stars if my car had not been damaged during the holiday.
