Used to be a good agency but now they are like any school or institution. What do I mean by that? This agency carries out regular, termly inspections which no other agencies do. Who gives them the power or authority to do that? Because they are the company directors? They are as qualified as all their tutors. Maybe their tutors are more qualified than them. You will be paid on the 15th of every month even if the last week of the month is half-term. I wonder how much interest they are getting? Other agencies pay you on the 7th. Why cannot they? You need to write reports every term of every student you teach. Other agencies do not request this. You need to write and submit your own invoice- this recently has been changed. Other agencies just use the tutorcruncher invoice system.
Also if a session is cancelled, you must phone or e-mail abc, but with other agencies you just mark on tutorcruncher and write a note why. Job done. All these bureaucratic extra work add up and who needs it? One positive is the fee this agency pays but you have to do all the above. Does it worth for a couple more quid? I don't think so. Now they are requesting three references instead of the usual two. I wonder what they want next? A knighthood maybe. Oh, one more thing: it is slow to react. You used to apply for a role, someone was with you the next day to book you in for that role. Now you can be 'waiting for Godot'. The main reason I am not with this agency because some of the staff, especially RH are very rude and can be controlling and kind of overwhelming on the phone. Talking about personal skills.I felt like I was being told off by a controlling parent. There is no way to treat qualified professionals like this. Just be professional and honest and withhold your emotions especially when you studied Psychology. I hope my review helps whoever is working with them. By the way, abc tried to take down my review, called it defamatory but trustpilot decided it was not and put my review back where it was. Obviously this clearly shows how control-freak this agency is and as a tutor you will not be able to raise any concerns internally because if you do then they just ignore you which is immature really. They also don't like you working for other agencies.

We have been very happy with the tutoring our 10 year old daughter has received from Claire. She has been tutored for around 2 years. The school our daughter goes to, had all but given up on our daughter. They failed to articulate the reasons why our daughter was not learning and was struggling. We were at our witts end. Claire did an initial assessment and discovered very quickly where the gaps were in our daughters education and the fact she was a very bright girl, but had missed out on all the basic educational foundations. So therefore was struggling to put any new learnings into a logical format. Our daughter has now jumped 3 years in her educational standard and is starting to flourish Thanks to Claire's outstanding teaching ability. Our daughter is now much more confident and loves going to school.

Allicea has become a huge fan with our 16 year old who is resitting his maths. She is patient and makes every lesson enjoyable.

We have had the most wonderful 2years with Ally tutoring our son, she has brought a very shy reluctant child with no confidence to be a happy confident learner, he looks forward to his sessions and enjoys his work , honestly something I never thought he would say. He has come on so well, I couldn’t be happier with his tutoring. Ally has become a family friend who has helped us with the minefield of education a fabulous tutor and now a great friend also, look forward to the rest of our journey learning together .

I started looking for a tutor for my daughter because she was struggling with English.
GCSEs were just around the corner and I wanted to give her as much help as possible, step in ABC tutoring the whole process was easy and efficient. They gave me several tutors they thought could help and always replied to my emails promptly. We decided on a tutor and she has been amazing always keeping in contact with us so we could tailor the lessons to what are daughter needed. I have seen a definite change in the way she now tackles her English lessons in school and she really feels that the 1-1 tutoring is helping her. Would definitely recommend them.

I recently hired a tutor to support my 5 year old who was born early and missed lots of school owing to COVID and some surgery he needed. His focus needed to be phonics but he loves numeracy too which was balanced really well in his sessions. I was matched really quickly with a great tutor and invoiced monthly, payment was easy via bank transfer and my son made such huge progress over the summer I’ll definitely be back!
