Here's the last email i wrote to the Honcho Support Team.

I landed on this page below. Not a business banner in sight. And not the landing page you suggested. Why no banner or Business name????

I believe your business model prays on people who are expecting to land on a government website & assuming so, aren’t carefully reading all of the information. What a fool, my mistake, so much for being trusting by nature.

Your business hides just enough information for people to start filling in your online form. In retrospect there are clues but all at the end of the page or the end of the process.

And I’m sure you can scrape by legally and claim you are the “good guys” preforming a legitimate service.

Let say I made a mistake, why does your business not care that people might make a mistake and just kindly offer a refund on the spot.?? Without an arbitrary admin fee of ($43.85) in your terms and conditions

Perhaps adjust the webpage to avoid this happening in the future.? Is it possible this is a mistake at your end or actually not?

For your customer service people to tell me that all the information about being a private company is clear, is just not so.

And 20 days to consider a refund, must be lots of considering happening at once in your business.

This must be hard way to earn a living 43 dollars a time. Do you sleep well?

This company is the biggest scam. They say you will get your ABN within 15 minutes. 2 Days later and I start to get suss.They charge $99 for something I could have done for free. I am normally very savvy at doing things myself but for some reason, had a lapse in judgement and just went with ABNRegistration.

I am embarrassed that I went through them. I always, always do these things myself and never rely on anyone else, and the one time my guard was down, I applied for a personal ABN with them.

So 2 days later, I check for reviews (which I normally always do as well...what. nitwit i was that night to forget to do that too!) and I see these terrible ones. I immediately contact them for a refund, since I didn't get my ABN within 2 days - when they claim it will only take 15 minutes - and they tell me there is a $43.85 cancellation charge. Scam. THIS IS HOW THEY OBVIOUSLY MAKE MONEY! THEY TAKE YOUR PAYMENT, DON'T DO ANYTHING, THEN REFUND YOU ONLY ALMOST 50% OF IT.

I don't care....I can get the ABN for free anyway, so at least I get some of it back, and they get this negative review. I will also be contacting consumer affairs to have them checked, to see how many people they actually get the ABN to, and in the timeframe claimed etc. I do not stand for unethical business, so they chose the wrong person to mess with.

Update (30th June): still no refund even though I asked them to refund the day i wrote the above post. They simply said they will reply within 20 DAYS. It's been 17 days. We'll see......I'll be back to update further.

SCAM abn registration is free.

Beware total scam. They are made to look like the government website which gives out free abn numbers. I got charged $158 for trying make an enquiry thinking it was the government website and at no point did they mention i would be charged.

If you ask for your money back you just get told they are a private company and can charge what they like

I saw this website, but realised it was a scam when asked to pay as I knew ABNs were free. Am trying to report the website. Be very careful! Don't get scammed!

Scammed me of $118. They said they couldn’t confirm my identity after they have taken my money. They are scammers

I too got sucked in by their website. Thought I was applying via govt. Immediately sent a cancellation request but told "too late" and I had agreed to terms and conditions. DO NOT USE!!

I thought it was an official ABN registration website!
And the worst part, it charged me $44.55 for GST Registration. HOWEVER, when I called ATO to cancel the GST Registration, the lady from ATO office told me, I was NOT registered with GST at all! And GST registration should be FREE!
Then I went to the website and ask for the so called Support. They just left me there not answering me at all!

Total scammers. Do not use this service at all. ABN's are free through the official ATO website, and it is faster to fill out the forms. This site cost me $99 for what should have been free. I just missed the fine print that contradicted the advertised tag line stating "ABN direct to your inbox in 15min".

Unfortunately, I didn't know that the process of applying for ABN is simple, quick (instant) and FREE.
You just need to go to ABR website and apply (ABR dot GOV dot AU - sorry for this spelling but Trustpilot doesn't allow me to post the link to the ABR website).
Therefore I decided to use this Agency to represent my interests (assuming that registered Agent is highly experienced and will provide initial advice on what details have to be provided, as well as will be representing my interests in case of application being delayed/cancelled).
What have I got? The payment of $99 (the fee) was withdrawn from my account immediately, they don't delay it. No One called me to check my details or ask any questions. Promised in 15 minutes ABN wasn't delivered within 15 mins. After couple of hours I've got an email that my ABN is delayed by the ATO for the unknown reason, the advise of 28 days timeframe and "don't worry, just sit and wait" was given.
As I didn't have 28 days in my pocket, I contacted this Agency via Support chat on their website, trying to find out the reasons. Short story long, I spent 40 mins in total on the chat where information I've got was: few times repeating information that I've got via email; assuring me that nothing can be done and they can't help me; giving me the reasons which didn't even sounded believable; stating that they are not contacting ATO etc. At the end I was offered to call ATO myself, to investigate the reasons and processes.
When I asked for a refund for the service that wasn't delivered in by best interest, I was told "sorry, service is done, payment was withdrawn, go read our terms and conditions, no refunds".............
I'm not the one who takes such a "customer service", I will follow up with my bank as I've saved full transcript of the chat, as well as references for the calls with ATO. I'm sure I'll get my refund. But what a waste of time..............

I as issued with 3 Bpay CRN numbers which did not work.
I contacted them bank to inquire and the bank advised not to use the business as in their view this did not appear to be legitimate.

Why on earth would you pay $100 for someone to "copy and paste" your already written info into a form, when you can complete the whole process for free through the ATO?!?! Anyone working in this company ought to be ashamed of themselves. They prey off of innocent and unknowing people and are too spineless to acknowledge their faults and correct their wrongs. Additionally they will block you from all contact if you complain about their services. So to those who work here... Get a real job!! Instead of stealing money from the people who work 100x harder than you ever will!!!

They charged me for a service that they could not provide then refused to refund me for weeks on end. I had to open a dispute via Paypal. They also lied about not being able to refund me via PayPal & requested my credit card details. Liars. Terrible service. Worse company of liars & thieves.

I made my application and only realised after it had gone through that I had forgotten to put my TFN on the form. I immediately emailed and they emailed straight back, amended the form and I was able to receive the ABN within a short amount of time. Highly recommend.
