Discovering Absolute Dogs reward based training when my crazy vizsla/springer cross lockdown puppy was 6 months old was very helpful.
After a face to face assessment ( booked at Devon Dogs - didn’t find absolute dogs initially) we did STAS and boot camp. After 6 months of games we had a dog who had calmed down sufficiently to join local force free obedience and gundog classes, where I could use games based skills - he is now 3 1/2 and we are thoroughly enjoying the journey.
I don’t do subscriptions so my engagement is limited, but I enjoy the podcasts, the lectures when I can catch them, and revisit the material I have purchased.
1.The process works , but ( unsurprisingly) takes time - it’s important not to have unrealistic expectations.
2. In retrospect, more help with techniques for encouraging calmness would have been useful , especially in conjunction with the high energy STAS games.
3. Early advice on reward currency - for us, kibble was a waste of time initially - we needed to start high and slowly reduce - with cheese for emergencies ….( the recent podcast with the lovely girl with lots of huskies was very useful …).
Above all, we find this fun, don’t take it too seriously, and really appreciate the energy, dedication and common sense approach .

I bought a book and because of custom duty's (england/Belgium) a had to pay a lot more. I asked to send it back because the book became much to expensive.
NO PROBLEMS and a few weeks later I've got the refund back on my account.
I bought Instead an online course and this is much better. I can work on it in my own time. My dog a Basenji girl is very sweet but has the character of 3 terriers together. She and I learned a lot of the play : in between on differant ways. Thank you for the very good video films you are posting. 👍👍👍👍

I am so very greatful for an assortment of training ideas and that you continue to not always listen to vet/trainers when you don't think they are right. I had taken my dog who Went most places with me with what I suspected was a UTI. The vet said there was nothing wrong with my dog and that he just needed training. When my dog would not let her near him she cornered him and tried to get a slip lead on him
Thankfully she did not get bit but I was not long changing vets. He was traumatized from that event and it has been a struggle to get him to trust me but slowly and surely using some of the games you use he is coming around. He not just starting to come near his lead again. Which time I feel I will be able to getva lead on him and take him with me again..

I was losing a connection with my kelpie, Stardust - simply feeding and walking her. When I started playing some simple games - 2 Feet on, Middle, Race to the Food Bowl, etc etc I noticed a distinct difference in our relationship. She actively seeks me out during the day with a "come on, it's time to play!". Thank you Absolute Dogs. I also sense that since the ownership of your company has changed, you are reaching your audience in a gentler, more realistic way. Well done for keeping Absolute Dogs alive Lauren.

Love the videos, easy to follow and show real life training. Perfect for all dogs but especially nervous dogs or dogs with behaviour issues. Changed mine and my dog’s life for the better. Love it! 😊

The methods you use are absolutely great. Training your dog through games is fantastic, and there’s nothing to criticize about that.

However, your website and marketing are a real mess. It’s not user-friendly. I have been a member for a long time and every time I struggle to log in. Recently, I signed up for an online seminar about separation anxiety, which I was really looking forward to. I planned to watch it on a train and tried to log in via mobile. It didn’t work. Additionally, you didn’t send the link needed to log in. When I went to your website, there was a lot of other advertising clutter, and no straightforward place to log in. Absolute Dogs is so commercial that it’s clear you think more about making money than making it easy to use your site. Based on this fact and from this perspective, I can only give 1 star for the user experience.

Additionally, I purchased the "Sexier Than A Squirrel 25 Day Challenge," but I can no longer log in to the course, and all the links are dead.

When I type the url:

It’s a real mess.

I really loved the way you guys handled the dogs and offered advice. The trouble was, there was just too much information to take in! My head couldn't cope with the barrage of things to learn and practice with my difficult dog. Too much....

When I joined Absolute Dogs I was at a total loss how to train my reactive dog. I knew he was a loving and a brilliant dog but I couldn’t help him become less reactive to other dogs and people.
I joined and realized there were so many others struggling with this. With support from all the trainers in the group we shared our struggles and our support. With the 24/7/365 training and support I received I gained the knowledge to help my dog with his reactive behaviour. Lauren and Tom were brilliant how they delivered training information. It was fun to train and so rewarding so see how fast my dog was transforming from a fitting shark on the end of the leash to a well behaved show dog!
With the monthly cost of under 60 dollar's CAD and all the expert advice from Lauren and Tom and the other support staff and trainers what a life changing experience for my dog and myself.
Absolutely the best experience I ever had training a dog!
Absolutely worth joining if you have any struggles or you want to gain more knowledge if you are already a professional trainer.

A Waste of Time and Money

Firstly, the videos that are poorly dubbed in a monotone voice are hard to follow and not engaging. The games were probably the only good part.
I didn’t realise that this automatically turned not a monthly subscription and was dinged the $70 for it - even though I hadn’t even logged into the site for weeks. They should give you a 48h warning before they start charging.
There are definitely better training programs out there. I would shop around first.

I did the first introductory course for £25 which was good …. And very helpful. Since then I feel bombarded with emails…. About repetitive courses which are very overpriced. I have watched a few free training sessions which never seem to get to any point and I usually switch off after half an hour of self publicising advertising. I find that one presenter continually interrupts and over speaks the other which is irritating and hard to watch. I also do not agree with medication for dogs to calm them …. A no no in my book. Since the first course I have not required any extra support …..the site pushes too many courses…..

The quality of the training and support materials offers everything necessary to develop dog training skills and programs. It is well thought out. My difficulty was that I had a health event last fall that put me out of commission. Unable to continue after the first 4 mo. I tried to discontinue the $170/mo fee. I wrote, and as far a I know no one contacted me back. The communication issue and participation in live events occurred because of our different time zones.

I love the training programmes and games. However, I have found the change from Facebook to Circle very difficult. Time is precious and using a different platform from my other social media groups is just not working. The support from other members was invaluable and I am thinking of cancelling.

I really like their style of training. I have always used positive training methods but the energy and enthusiasm of Absolute Dogs has been very helpful with my current dog. We have both learned a lot; by both I mean I and the dog 🐶. The courses are detailed and good value if bought when on offer.
My sole quibble is that they don’t make it easy to leave or suspend or pause membership. I have found it excellent, but cannot afford to subscribe for ever. This should be recognised and made more flexible.

I love the concept and find it very useful for me and my dog. I have had some issues with the website, but these have been quickly rectified.

I enjoy all of the sujects. Love, love the games. Everything is explained in a very nice way.

I have been with Absolute Dogs for over 5yrs. Love their teaching philosophy and putting your dogs well being as the number one criteria.
This is the place where you can learn and live the adventure with your "best friend."

I have been a dog trainer for ove 40 years, and thought I'd learnt all there was to learn about dogs sand reward training. How was wrong I was, after just randomly seeing a fb ad for absolute dogs, I was intrigued by the idea of game training. I firstly joined the sexier than a squirrel course just to learn what it was all about and I became hooked. 2 years on I am a pro dog trainer with absolute dogs, all my classes are now fun game based,there is always more to learn and the friends I've made through it are friends for life. I absolutely love it.
