We have had two bedrooms carpeted by this company. Absolutely hassle free , great results and so much cheaper than competitors in this area.

We hired Action Flooring to install wooden flooring, but the experience was extremely disappointing. An independent specialist confirmed that the installation did not meet either the manufacturer’s guidance or British Standards and was fitted incorrectly, including being laid as a floating floor when a fully bonded installation was required. After 18 months trying to resolve issues directly with Action, who repeatedly refused to take any responsibility, we pursued a Section 75 claim with our credit card provider. They reviewed the evidence and eventually reimbursed us £12,500 to have the flooring taken up and replaced by a specialist flooring firm, but this was a very painful 18-month process which was very stressful and inconvenient. This review reflects my personal experience, but based on this, I strongly recommend using a dedicated wooden flooring specialist rather than a general flooring company, like Action, for this type of work.

I’ve used this company before and had hoped for a similarly smooth experience. Unfortunately, this time around has been disappointing. We waited a full week for an appointment to have our living room and hallway measured — even though they had previously measured the entire house for future work.

On the day of the appointment, my wife stayed home all morning, but no one arrived. When I called to follow up, I was told they had visited and tried to call us, but we hadn’t answered. It turned out they had the wrong phone number and even the wrong house number. There was no offer to return promptly, and the tone of the conversation made it feel like we were the ones causing inconvenience — despite the mistake being entirely theirs. The next available appointment was over a week away.

We’re currently in and out of hospital for cancer treatment, so our time is incredibly valuable. Waiting around for a missed appointment, with no real apology or concern, was frustrating and disappointing. Sadly, this level of service doesn’t reflect the care or professionalism customers should expect.

Showroom staff are great. The flooring is great….I would use again but only if I can check who they will send to fit and only if they pre-confirm their visits each time. . …the rest is best left unsaid. Shame as some good workers here.

I used the Whitfield branch for my hard floor and carpets, Kayleigh who has been looking after me during my purchase and installation has been absolutely amazing!! She is friendly, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. Offering suggestions and design ideas to my different rooms. Action are very lucky to have her on their team and I would highly recommend Action Whitfield to anyone who is in need of new flooring.

My only negative experience was with the first carpet fitter who arrived and was right away in a rush to get away. Shortly after arriving she noticed some moisture on the floor and threatened to walk off the job (all it needed was wiping with a cloth).

In the end she did leave the job incomplete as she had personal things to get to, leaving me in a complete mess.

Naturally I was very upset and unhappy about this and all the problems from the fitter.

However, Kayleigh sorted out the issue when I told her what happened, she immediately arranged another fitter to attend the job to make sure it got completed as it should have been and went out on a limb to make sure everything was put right on the same day.

As a customer, a measure of a company is how they deal with a problem when it arises, and I can say that all the showroom team bent-over-backwards to help and make sure my installation was a success, they turned a bad experience into a positive one by being so helpful and quick to get the situation remedied.

My score would have been 5 star if it wasn't for the fitter.

We are really very "impressed" with the services of "professionals" after whose work you are left to do some adjustments by yourself. Maybe we were so unfortunate to have a woman called Amber as a carpet fitter, but this woman did not complete her work because of the lack of tools and fitting materials and the other fitters had to finish the work another day. Besides, the measurements of the rooms were wrongly taken in the beginning and we needed to wait for more days to have the right size of the carpet. After a day one corner of the carpet started to pop up from the floor... I suppose that the quality of work depends on the skills of the fitter.

Excellent service. I have used Action carpets a few times now. I am extremely fussy and rather OCD about the finishing touches. The chap who laid my wooden flooring made a perfect job. One extremely satisfied customer 👍👍 . Thank you Action carpets . Kellyanne Simmons

Had action carpets in to lay some lino 3 times they have come back it still isn't right and a lot of excuses as to why, being in the building game myself they must think lm stupid they won't be coming back

I have had 3 skilled fitters here laying parquet flooring throughout and they have done the most fabulous job.
They have been charming and courteous, extremely helpful and the end result is simply superb and I would not hesitate to use Action Carpets again.

We have used Action Carpets for all of our carpets for almost 2 decades. Some rooms have been fitted out more than once in that time. The first carpet they laid for us was for our entrance hallway, stairs and landings over three levels. We chose top quality heavy wear, hotel quality material and now after 15 years it still looks fantastic.
Recently we noticed a little raised area on one of our bedroom carpets. Even though this was laid over 2 years ago they sent a fitter, within a few days, to re-stretch that carpet and didn’t even mention charging for his Labour.
I would strongly recommend using them for a quality job
