Al-Khoei school is inflicting suffering of children & parents
Al-Khoei Al Sadiq Al Zahra Schools: Financially Complicit in the suffering of both innocent victims of wars and the parents of the students at this school.
We have been appalled by the management of School, which continues to invest students’ fees in Barclays Bank, a known financier of Israeli military acts in Gaza. Despite repeated calls from students & parents for ethical financial practices, the school administration has refused to take any action. Instead, they have been punishing students & parents by issuing fines to parents who have withdrawn their children due to these unethical practices, further exacerbating financial burdens on these families. Al-Khoei has not only ignored the astonishing number of parents' complaints that their children are having mental illnesses as they feel they are themselves contributing to the suffering of innocent Palestinian children, but has shockingly also fined parents who withdrew their children to protect the mental health of their children & on moral grounds. This coercive measure forced parents to choose between their children's mental health & education and indirectly supporting human sufferings.
False Claims and Misleading Information:
The school claims it has been trying to change banks, yet Barclays has a straightforward switch service for business accounts. Furthermore, within weeks of demands, 2500 organizations, have already closed their accounts with Barclays, exposing the school's excuses as false.
Availability of Ethical Banking Options:
Contrary to the school’s claims, we have found that several UK banks offer accounts tailored for charities. These options invalidate the excuse of limited availability.
Unethical Justifications:
The school’s justification for continuing its relationship with Barclays, citing internal management decisions, in a blatant disregard for the mental health of the children & ethical concerns of parents. This stance is morally & legally indefensible position.
Al-Khoei must, at an absolute minimum, refund all fees invested in Barclays to the parents who have been financially burdened by the school’s unethical decisions rather than add insult on injury bullying, blackmailing, threatening parents.
These parents are already facing significant financial burdens, including home-schooling costs, private tutoring, and additional childcare expenses which they have not planned for. These costs were incurred due to the actions of Al-Khoei, and parents deserve full refunds of all fees paid to Barclays. As a matter of legal fact, Al-khoei is liable to compensate all parents who had to withdraw their children from Al-Khoei, and more importantly, for the mental damage done to these children.
