Derek was very polite and informed.He called before arriving letting me know his schedule. He gave me suggestions on keeping the mouse population low and gave me glue pads to monitor any droppings. He also walking around the outside of the house with me and checked the traps. I was very pleased with his visit.

The person who came, informed me in advance to see if I have any issues need to be addressed. He sent me photos of the areas he had worked on.

Paid for 10 months of service. Only received 4 actual visits.
Aptive billed me $86.40/month for 10 months ($864 total) but only performed pest control service 4 times during that entire period. When I called to cancel, they demanded a $200 early-termination fee — despite the fact that THEY failed to deliver the service. When I asked to speak to a manager to escalate, customer service flat-out refused.
I’m now pursuing the matter through the New York Attorney General’s office, the BBB, and the CFPB. Aptive paid a $220,000 settlement to the Pennsylvania AG in 2023 for similar conduct (refusing to honor cancellation requests), so this appears to be an ongoing pattern, not a one-off.
Before you sign up with this company, check their complaint history. Before you let them cancel without a fight, check your billing against how many services they actually performed — you may be owed a substantial refund.

Tony was awesome. He explained what he was doing both inside and outside and even give some tips about being proactive.

Jordan, with Active is absolutely an amazing technician. He goes above and beyond every time he’s out here. I would highly recommend him as a technician. I’m very pleased with Aptive.

It was all good except we had asked for a 3 bee traps and we only got one even though I called and told them we needed two for the back yard and one for the front yard. Which was explained again when the technician was there.

Your service tech was spot on from arrival notice to departure notice. Cordial and professional, he went on with his treatment services and followed up with a treatment summary. Kudos!
Regarding pest control, treatments seem to be working except for moles. After a year, they’re still a problem.

Aptive Pest Control in Ankeny go ABOVE AND BEYOND every.time! I get a text message that they are on their way and ask if there’s anything specific I need this month. Then I get a text message after they’re done telling me what they did, along with photos of my house showing what they did. I would highly recommend them!!

The treatments seem to work as long as they're applied on a day when it's not raining. I've also never had the same applicator visit twice... which is super weird... but I don't have ants indoors and the pricing seems reasonable.

Yes, it might be some kind of weird MLM, but I don't engage with them on that side and am only interested in keeping bugs outside the house. I will say that even though they advertise the treatments to also keep put mice, that doesn't seem the case (but we also have a huge mice population in southern IN, so we might be an outlier) While I won't endorse them fully, if you can do one of their short term deals, I think it's worth the fight to get out of it later.
