The veterinary staff themselves have always been good, but my experience with the administrative team was extremely disappointing.

Rather than acknowledge what I believe was an administrative error and waive an incorrect £25 charge so that my sick animal could be seen, they chose to argue the point instead. After hours of waiting for a callback, I was simply told they would end the conversation because of the frustration the situation had caused.

We have never missed an appointment and have never failed to pay a bill, so this came as a real surprise.

It’s incredibly disappointing that £25 appeared to take priority over resolving an issue and helping a sick animal. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how they’re handled. In this case, I experienced no willingness to accept responsibility, no flexibility, and very little compassion.

Had my hedgehog seen multiple times at Ark and every time they were compassionate, helpful and friendly. I now have my 3 rabbits with them and they always seem so happy to help and give out advice. Have been very happy with them

I am extremely disappointed with the service me and my pet have received from Ark vet. Both of my dogs were registered with this practice for over 8 years, so I expected a far higher level of professionalism and care. One of my dogs has a hernia and requires surgery. As Acres Veterinary Centre is closer to my home and has been recommended to me, I took her there for a second opinion — something that any responsible pet owner should be able to do without being penalised.
After considering my options, I decided that I wanted to continue my dog’s treatment with Ark Vet. However, I was then told they would not take my dog back onto their books. This was after they themselves instructed me to have Acres send my dog’s medical records back over to them, which I did. Despite following their instructions exactly, they still refused to re-register her, effectively leaving my dog without a registered vet while she requires surgery. This is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of care for the wellbeing of the animal.
After 8 years of loyalty to this practice, I find this treatment incredibly unfair and unprofessional. No responsible veterinary practice should be willing to leave an animal without veterinary care simply because the owner sought a second opinion.
I also have to mention that one of the female receptionists I dealt with had a very poor attitude throughout this process. She was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed absolutely no empathy for the situation, which made an already stressful experience far worse.
Overall, this has been a shocking way to treat a long-standing client and, more importantly, a dog that requires medical treatment. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before registering their pets here and to consider more caring and professional options nearby.

We had a post op visit to the Coatbridge Practice today. On previous visits we would muzzle our husky, not because he's aggressive but because of his anxiety and our uncertainty as to how he may react. We visited last week but our boy was too worked up to co-operate, so Paul our vet suggested bringing him back at a less busy time and without the muzzle. Paul came outside to see our boy, he got down on our boys level, gave him plenty of praise and pets and our husky loved the attention. I usually find a vet visit stressful because of how worked up my dog gets but WOW, Paul was exceptional. I cannot thank Paul enough for his understanding. He tailored the appointment around my huskys needs and I'm grateful for that.
