Like most organisations in NZ they…

Like most organisations in NZ they promote themselves on being super customer friendly , efficient and trustworthy , and exactly to my expectations of business in New Zealand they were not .
All banks are greedy , but most provide a reasonable service , ASB New Zealand certainly does not . Extremely disappointed in them .

Take an advantage - term deposit

ASB needs to get down based on stupid rules; two examples as below:
The money was blocked in my solicitor's ASB bank account due to my name "mohammad" due to money laundry on settlement date which was really stressful.

Term deposit for 3 or 5 years just mentioned there is breaking fee; be aware, ASB will take more than the interest that ASB payed you in the past months. It is not clear how they calculated just mention there us a fee for breaking. ASB doesn't care about you are in hard situations or not. Exp; I opened three and 5 years term founds with 10,000$ they returned ~9,400$.
Such a way to make profit from ASB customers. I THINK we should leave ASB that I have done!

Totally let down & take advantage of

I was taken advantage of when I had to remove the 2nd name off a joint insurance policy due to his death. We had the policy over 20 years but removing one name gave them the opportunity to increase my premium by over 100%. When I questioned it, no one got back to me so after 4 days I found a much cheaper and friendlier provider. I just feel so let down in the midst of grief, shame on you ASB, there was no recognition that I was on the policy too.

No customer care for rural

They want your money but won't provide service anymore in rural branches. A few years back we had a Bank Manager, now we have to travel for anything other than everyday banking.

Had a arranged phone appointment with a guy Mohammed shariff , which after 1/12 hour of waiting never heard from him.Only because I rang to find out what’s going on did he ring , could not understand a word English was shocking.Finally got out what I needed to send him and was told he will be in contact end of the day .A week on and still have not heard a thing , absolute joke you have incompetent people like this working for you .I still have no answers so will be in to close all accounts .

USELESS/ NO ASB SERVICE

How is my case closed when I don't know the outcome?
I haven't been given a solution to my problem either.
No explanation as to why?
No call back like I was told?
No resolution?

Do you really respect a person's complaint or feedback?
Looks like you would much rather to just hear the compliments.

Here in Kaikohe is rubbish already.
With 2 days open & short hours when it is.

How about answering my questions!

Stingy with loans

Despite being a loyal customer they don’t want to help with giving loans for those already in debt and struggling with the inflation and gas prices going crazy high. All I asked was for a small car loan to get a very economical car to get to work but was denied. They believe I cannot afford it.

Bad customer service

On Monday 14/08/2023, I visited Remuera Branch, they helped me register an account online, then book me an appointment at 12:00 PM today 16/08/2023 at Lunn Ave Branch. All good until I got to Lunn Ave Branch today, on time, and it was closed. They did not even inform me. I called the ASB hotline. The lady on the phone helped me book another appointment at 2:45 PM today with the branch in Onehunga.

I went to Onehunga Branch, here was what I provided to get my account verified:
Vietnamese passport;
Australia driver’s licence;
Tenancy agreement with my sister as the head tenant, and a flatmate agreement between me and my sister;

The lady declined to verify my ID, and I don’t know what else to do to get my ID verified because I can’t be on the tenancy agreement since it’s just a temporary address and I will be travelling soon around New Zealand.

Anyway, I hope that you could be more flexible, as there are so many backpackers like me who are on working holiday visas and not living in one place. For the time being, I’ll go with another bank.

ASB teams are rude and deceitful

I opened a bank account with ASB in 1991 and they won't let me access it today. Their teams (branch, contact centre and customer care) are always right and you - the customer - must be an idiot to leave your money with them.

Hard to do business with

Can't contact ASB, phones unanswered, branches closed half the week and when you do get thru they cant transfer you. So much profit and no service!
A week long experience because the staff member didn't do what they said they would.
Take your money to a bank that wants to deal with its customers and not make excuses.

That you can get bank account asap when you really need it

Hi, I just want to say that I was served by an agent in Westfield Manukau City by this lovely lady Arfana Ali. Very attentive to not only me but also the other customers waiting in line. I just came a few days back from a small island in the Pacific and as you can imagine I was overwhelmed, different environment, cultures etc. I'm here on a work visa so I only had a very small time frame to get a bank account and IRD no. Been to all the other banks they said the same thing I had to book (mind you I'm new here in NZ I didn't know) thank God that he brought me to ASB that day and Arfana helped me got my bank account that very day. Thank you for all the staffs working that day you were all helpful.

Tanya Maxwell from Takapuna branch was Fantastic!!!!!

This morning I called ASB for help regarding opening an Account for my daughter. She was extremely helpful, such a lovely lady she was...and very funny. She's a great example to all Customer Service Agents.

ASB nowadays is horrible

Have been using ASB for ages. Didn’t have any problem until now. Customer service is terrible. I have ordered new credit card 4 times every time they send it to wrong address. I went in to correct this and also tried over the phone. Still having the same issue. Still don’t have my new credit card. Wat a shame. Will stop using this bank.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service! I was waiting 45 minutes on the phone for an insurance quotation - the CX lady transferred me to another representative - waiting ANOTHER 50 minutes on the phone for the answer - and as soon as the new representative picked up the phone he disconnected!!! really? If you transfer me to someone else, why do I have to wait an hour?!!! I was waiting for a total of 2 hours and got nothing! Why do you have specified for insurance phone number if the answered person can't answer the questions?!! I am fed up and am going to another insurance provider! DO NOT RECOMEND ASB no anyone!
