Yesterday we went on a tour of Herculaneum outside of Naples. We had the most amazing tour guide, Luciano Leone, who made the tour not only very enjoyable but very informative as well. Having been on many tours, many of which have been very good, I would rate Luciano as one of, if not, the best guide I have experienced. If you are thinking of visiting this site, I highly recommend and suggest you arrange the tour with him.
Nicoletta was our tour guide, very professional and informative. We were at Herculeum and it was very interesting. I would highly recommend this tour and her as the tour guide.
Wir haben eine geführte Tour um 15 Uhr für 40 € pro Person gebucht. Die Führung war wirklich hervorragend – unser Guide Vincenzo war äußerst kompetent, freundlich und hat sich viel Zeit für unsere Fragen genommen. Wir haben viel gelernt und konnten das Gelände im Anschluss an die Tour bis zur Schließung eigenständig weiter erkunden.
Was uns jedoch sehr enttäuscht hat, war der Umgang mit der Eintrittsregelung im Vorfeld: Es war auf der Website nicht ersichtlich, dass der Zutritt zum Gelände erst ab 15 Uhr möglich ist. Da zwei Stunden für die gesamte Besichtigung sehr knapp bemessen sind, wollten wir die Anlage vor der Führung auf eigene Faust erkunden. Das wurde uns verweigert – mit der Begründung, das Ticket gelte nur für einen einmaligen Eintritt.
Leider zeigte sich der Anbieter in dieser Situation wenig lösungsorientiert. Am Telefon wurden wir nicht ernst genommen, Hilfe wurde uns nicht angeboten. Wir mussten gezwungenermaßen ein zusätzliches Ticket kaufen, was den Preis pro Person auf über 50 € erhöhte – deutlich mehr, als ursprünglich erwartet.
Fazit: Die Führung selbst ist sehr empfehlenswert, der Anbieter allerdings sollte dringend an seiner Kommunikation und am Kundenservice arbeiten. Wer bucht, sollte sich vorab genau über die Zugangsbedingungen informieren.
Our tour was excellent and most informative. Luciano Leone, our guide, was very well versed in the Herculaneum Ruins, as well as very pleasant and polite. He interacted very excellently with our grandchildren and they all showed great interest in listening to his explanations. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and strongly recommend Luciano to everyone.
The long walk up the mountain Visuvius to see the volcano will be a day that will last long in my memory as I will simply never forget it. It was the climb of a lifetime, but I finally got to the top and the view was glorious, and well worth the effort too. I would like to thank Mario the tour guide for making my day. Thank you Mario if you are reading this. It was a pleasure to be on the tour.

Our tour guide Andrea (archeologist) was very knowledgeable and involved the group with every part of the tour.
We learnt a lot about the history Pompei and the surrounding areas, including very fine details of how people navigated their way through, and which building did what.
The tour was very exciting and worth the money.
We would happily do this again!

Great guided tour of the Pompeii!
Our guide, Teresa, was a trained archeologist and very knowledge about the site. She was in no rush to finish the tour and went above and beyond to make sure we got to see as much as possible.
10/10 would recommend
