Avery & Rose are Chinese and a CON. They are not a family business in Manchester at all. The clothes took a long time coming, which made me suspicious in the first place, and when they came they were NOTHING like the pictures. Really cheap looking and nylon-like. Horrible. Tried to get a refund and they have to be shipped back to China at your own expense. Borders on fraud and it's basic misrepresentation.

I order what looked like two beautiful cardigans and a couple of dresses which on the impressive website shows a Manchester Company and picture of two ladies and the write up which says "With a heavy heart, I’m holding one final Clearance Sale - up to 80% off, to clear everything out before we close our doors for good. 💔"

The goods were shoddy and cheap and took some time to arrive. And when I tried to return them as they clearly were not what I ordered, I had to return them to China, and my cost! Absolutely no indication that this would have to be the case on the website.

Then I read the other reviews. I wish I had done this before I ordered. MY big mistake. I am beginning to not trust any website. These scammer are good enough to fool us into parting with our money and then no redress and no way to contact them, as they just stopped replying.

I am reporting to our trading standards but this has to stop. So please, BE AWARE

Very disappointed with the poor quality of the "lightweight orthopaedic sneakers" just received after a three week wait. Nice pattern but basically just cotton uppers attached to plastic soles so more like slippers than actual shoes. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for - these being £27. No chance of returning them as the website has disappeared. No idea where these originated as the return address on the package is in Belgium.

This is a fake company, claiming to be UK based. A Chinese drop shipping company selling cheap fake goods that in no way resemble the marketing images from a website claiming to be a Manchester based family run shop . They are none of these it’s a fake front for a Chinese warehouse. It’s all a complete lie. They entice you with beautiful marketing images of classy products then send cheap tat made in china that looks nothing like the item ordered. They claim the goods will be sent by Royal Mail usually in 2 days, the deliveries generally take 3 weeks due to customs and shipping delays. They offer a 30 day money back guarantee, this is a complete scam and a lie also. It turns out you have to send the items back to China at your own expense ( which is more than the value of the item if using a reputable carrier, it’s also with a caveat, that if the item gets lost in transit or damaged in transit they will not then refund. Essentially they will NOT refund anyway and don’t refund on faulty goods either, even when photographs are quite clear the goods are faulty. The entire site is a scam, all be it a very sophisticated scam. They are then set up to offer a 10% reduction on the cost to keep the items which are not worth anything frankly. Additionally they use an AI generated email facility so you think you are talking to customer service in the UK by email but in fact, it’s a Bot generating automated responses. Don’t touch this company with a barge pole. Everything they are doing is illegal. It’s a scam company, designed to rip off the customer. Any reviews on here that seem favourable, I’m sure, will be as fake as their website and social media pages are. This is just a sophisticated way Chinese companies can steal money from unsuspecting customers using false marketing images, stolen from other companies and offering false promises.

I wish I’d looked at the reviews here before I purchased anything. If I could give negative stars I would - as per others I ordered the cat head sculpture, absolutely nothing like what was advertised - total scam - so disgusted. Not even going to bother returning after reading other reviews - avoid at all costs

Excellent customer service.

Ordered a cat ornament for a relative. Very slow delivery from china. Very poor quality product arrived, made of resin, painted badly, and mis-shaped, that does not look anything like the ordered product picture, which is clearly marble/stone and has a high quality finish. Having checked their returns policy, and read subsequent similar reviews from other disgruntled customers, it appears that the cost of return to china at buyers expense basically means you’ll end up with 10% of original cost. Bordering on a scam. Can’t advise strongly enough to NOT use this company. Its not even the waste of money that’s irritating .Its the principle that their return policy is basically ‘tough luck’. Not impressed. Good job they aren’t based here as trading standards and consumer rights would have shut this down ages ago.

I placed an order for a Jacket/Raincoat from
Avery&Rose.
It took more than 2 weeks for delivery.
I thought I had ordered it from Manchester, that was the address they used, and the address on the packaging when I received it.
When my order finally arrived, it looked nothing like the photo and was made of very poor-quality material. It was a raincoat and weighed 0.460kg
I asked for a refund, but they required a photo and informed me that I had to return the item to China at my expense. They threatened that if it were lost or damaged in transit, I would lose my refund. If I wanted to keep the jacket, they offered me a 10% discount to keep the item, then a further 15%?
I am furious and feel that I have been conned
I want a refund, but they are making it very hard.
I have returned the parcel to China, and it cost me more than £20 in postage.
Please be careful when using this site,
They also advertise the same articles under different names.

I thought the delivery had gone astray. They responded very promptly and I found the package! Excellent customer service.

This company is a scam. NOT in UK but in China. If you haven’t ordered yet then don’t. If you have ordered:-
1. Refuse delivery of the parcel, it is a tracked item so you refusal will be logged and the parcel will be returned to China at their expense.
2. If you accepted the parcel already:- They will almost certainly keep offering you lower and lower prices and ultimately refuse to refund it. Don’t worry, you can make a “Charge Back Dispute” with your credit card company.
3. If you already received the parcel then insist on a postage paid label, DO NOT pay for postage back to China yourself.
4. Raise a “Charge Back Dispute” with your credit company, who will pay the money back to you and you have to hold on to the goods for the required amount of days for them to dispute your claim and then you can dispose of the items.
5. Leave a Trust Pilot review and report the company to Action Fraud. Good luck, it’s a pain but we need to try and stop these companies!

They imply they are based in Manchester and they are not.

Products can be found on aliexpress for a quarter of the advertisement prices on their website.

Product was a cats head, purple eyes. It was nothing like the pictures. Cheaply made resin, which lacked clear coat, so little shine.

Avoid.

I bought some shoes for my daughter. The shoes were £27 reduced from &100. What a bargain I thought! They arrived in good time. When I took them out of the bag I was assaulted with an incredibly strong smell of chemicals. Once I was over the shock of the smell I looked at the shoes properly. They were the cheapest, nastiest, flimsiest pair of shoes I have ever seen. More suited to a dressing up doll than a human. On trying to return them I was offered to keep them and they’d send me another pair for &11. No thank you I said. Ok - well then I’d have to ship them back to China at my own cost. Their website doesn’t mention China. Funny that!

If I could have given no stars I would. Please DO NOT use this retailer. It uses a Manchester tag line but is China based. Photos do not reflect the goods you receive, they charged me and sent me twice the quantity of goods ordered. They are EXCESSIVELY difficult for returns - which (after you have paid) you are told, upon enquiry only, must be sent TO CHINA at your cost!! The firm informed me it could be more expensive to return goods than the value of the goods themselves, with surcharges on top of postage costs!!

Why are firms like this allowed to retail on the British market? Be careful and don’t have anything to do with them.

Terrible website - do not buy from them. They are a Chinese online company who do not reply to queries. The items take several weeks to ship and are terrible quality and too small. It appears impossible to return them - they instruct you to email their "info" email then do not reply. I would give zero stars.

If I could put no stars I would! There is no way this is a company in Manchester, it’s Chinese! Took 2 wks for the jacket to arrive and is nothing like the one pictured, cheap and nasty is the only way to describe it. Absolute rip off !!!

Total utter rubbish. Say they are in Manchester UK. Lie. They are in China apparently. Product totally, and I mean, totally, different. Supposed to be polished marble cat's head, larger than a tennis ball, with beautiful glass eyes. Bought 2 (£60), one as a present. What turned up today is ONE (so far) total rubbish (fairground quality) much smaller piece of tin-pot china. Badly finished, badly marked with no such thing as glass eyes. I am disgusted. After offers of 10%, 15% and 20% refunds and keep the products, or return at own expense with caveat that goods are likely to get lost in mail to China and thus won't be refunded, I contacted my credit card company who elicited immediate refunds as Avery & Rose did not want a case opened against them by the credit card co. Suggest everyone else does the same.

Totally disappointed! What should have been a beautiful cats head with green eyes, it is not. I have just received via royal mail a plastic shiny version. NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED NOR WORTH £30!!! I've been totally taken for a ride. The depot is in CHINA NOT MANCHESTER. I will report to trading standards.

First thing to state is that Avery and Rose sent me an email asking for a review, if you pressed one star it launched an email to them, if you pressed 5 star it took you to the trustpilot site. This shows they are trying to manage only positive reviews being posted.
I ordered a cat sculpture that in the advert is clearly a shiny stone or glass item and very attractive, claimed to have been reduced from £60 to £26. What arrived was a very poor quality injection moulded item that has cost no more than £1 to produce in China. Having looked online many people have been conned in the same way. The company claims to be based in Manchester but is apparently based in China
Do not buy from these people!!

I would never buy from this company again. Still waiting for my order four weeks on, Trust pilot will not give the option of less than one star. Very, very unhappy as this was going to be a birthday present for my daughter.
