Closures, cancellations, zero communication... AVOID.

Same issue as others. Started out well. I could select from the Old Trafford or Wythenshaw branches. Had a few haircuts and shaves, all good. Then I got charged £15 for cancelling an appointment on 30/3 - but I did not cancel it, Barbr Club did!

A few days later, out of the blue, I got a SMS saying that an evening appointment I had booked at Old Trafford for 8 April had been cancelled (again, not by me!). They had cancelled it on the morning of the day of my appointment. This happened AGAIN and AGAIN - on 15/4 and 17/4. I have screenshots as evidence but am not able to upload images to this review - but they are all shown on my Google Review.

Looked at the website, suddenly 3 of the 5 usually available locations (at various gyms) had gone. The next available one at the nearest gym was about 1 week away. No good!

Worse, I have received ZERO COMMUNICATION from Barbr Club about the closure of gyms (no advanced notice, and STILL no acknowledgement of their removal about 1 weeks after it happened) and NO APOLOGY about their own cancellation of my appointment. Also, I have sent about 5 emails to them - NO RESPONSE. And they have NO CONTACT NUMBER.

Avoid. Do not do business with such a devious and disrespectful company.

Barber Club is a joke

Barber Club is a joke.
Closed the Huddersfield branch the same day they took everyone’s subscription fee then sent an email out a couple of days later to let everyone know.
Didn’t pay the barbers their wages either.
Sent 3 emails asking for a refund and heard nothing back, I had to go through my bank for the refund.

Staffing issues and cancellations. Big late/no show fines

Been a member for a few months. Cuts have been good. But in my experience they have to cancel some of your bookings due to staffing issues. They do not have cover staff, so if employees call in sick or leave, there is nobody to cut your hair. In March the Chester branch closed for 2 weeks, cancelled my appointment again, but everyone still had to pay the full monthly membership. What's worse, when they re-opened, I missed my appointment through no fault of my own and they charged me £15!! They were only open for 2 weeks of that month, they cancelled me once in that month, and it cost me £50 for the privilege!!
Tried to contact customer services via email, but nobody can be bothered to answer your enquiries. Im still waiting.

Honestly, it will be cheaper and more convenient to just nip to your local barber and avoid this monthly paid app nonsense. I'm cancelling my membership

Do not go to the huddersfield BarBr…

Do not go to the huddersfield BarBr club hair cut in a closet in the dark barbers leaving no consistency just got a new room after changing from 3 different closets now the barbers have left and there is no appointments. The first barber was very poor went and got a decent barber in the evenings now he’s gone and can’t get any appointments at all. Liked the concept of paying monthly and unlimited trims but just not worth the hassle AVOID

I was genuinely happy when I first…

I was genuinely happy when I first found this company and expected a professional and consistent service. Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be the complete opposite.

Before my appointment, I watched the barber complete two haircuts to a very high standard, so it was clear he had the skill and experience. However, when it came to my turn, the service was completely different.

I had booked a 20-minute slot for a haircut and beard fade. Before starting, he told me he couldn’t do both. I calmly offered to upgrade my booking on the spot and even suggested he take another client first so there would be enough time. Instead of handling this professionally, he responded rudely.

Despite this, he proceeded with my haircut—but the quality was very poor. The fade was uneven and not properly blended on the sides, and the top was not cut as requested. I raised this during the haircut, pointing out the lack of blending and asking for the top to be shorter, but he ignored me and made no effort to correct it.

I left feeling that the poor quality was intentional, which is very concerning.

I then had to visit another barber and pay £23 to fix the haircut before an important event, which was both frustrating and embarrassing.

Throughout the entire experience, I remained polite and respectful and made every effort to resolve things calmly.

I also want to highlight a separate concern: after subscribing, I was unable to remove my card details from the system, which was worrying. I strongly advise others to obtain formal confirmation when cancelling a subscription to avoid being charged further.

I did contact customer service. They confirmed my subscription has been cancelled and said they would look into the situation. However, it does not feel like any meaningful action will be taken, which is disappointing. Situations like this should be addressed seriously to prevent other customers from having the same experience.

Very disappointing overall.

Billed post cancellation

Can’t fault the barbers, it’s the subscription that’s the issue. The time slots are too short. I had cancelled my subscription and still got billed!
