I ordered my conversion kit in october 23, wanting it be spring 24. I received an email telling current lead times were 10-12 weeks.
After hearing nothing , in late January I emailed asking for an update. Heard nothing. Emailed them again and they replied telling me I should receive it in late Feb. Ok I thought.
In March I received an email telling me it will be ready the week after. That date came and went then i got an email telling me it would be another 2-3 weeks due to low stock on materials. Didnt they know they had no stock when they told me id get it the week before??? Very poor.
I chased them again a few weeks later saying it’s unacceptable and the customer service is poor and they just said if your not happy you can cancel and get a refund. So I did.
Terrible company to deal with customer service is atrocious and new branded barrows are coming down in price now so I dont really see the need to upgrade your old barrow, just buy a new one.
I ordered a nash trax power on the sunday and it arrived tuesday from tackle box in kent. Cost me £80 more than my conversion kit from BCUK , I'm much happier tbh.
Order from these if you dont want your barrow for 8-12 months otherwise swerve them. I hear the product is excellent but I cant wait 7 months for it unfortunately.

Barrow conversion kit ordered 6 March 2023 and I am still waiting for it on 8 February 2024 (11 months later). I have phoned innumerable times, emailed many times and have had delivery promise after delivery promise, all broken. I have seen from various reviews that the product is very good but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

The supplied barrow conversion was good quality, nothing wrong with workmanship at all. I am sure it will function well once fitted also.
My problem with the company is that they never update you unless you contact them and when they reply, they can often be very vague and overly optimistic, I predicted a January delivery months ago and asked if that should be my expectation but all I got back was a vague answer saying that production was speeding up (it wasnt) and that they aim to deliver faster than that (they didnt).
As a customer, you are expected to follow their facebook page to get any kind of update (they dont even tell you this when you order) their 'weekly' update is anything but and I shouldnt have to go to Facebook to find out what the ETA of my order is.
My order (A MK2 Carp Porter conversion kit) took 5 months to arrive, yet the company still advertise 10-12 weeks to delivery? Thats what they would like to achieve I am sure, they are getting nowhere near that right now.
I emailed them a couple of times and got no reply but if you post a message on facebook, it does get answered quickly, not sure that is a satisfactory customer service, what if I didnt have or want to use facebook? Added to that, if your message is seen as negative, they delete it and openly admit that they will do so.
They have shortages in batteries, chargers probably more, I got my kit with no charger, just a scrawled message saying it was 'to follow'. I emailed and my reply said dont worry the batteries are fully charged so you can still use the barrow... You will get used to the annoying habit of theirs, trying to get you to see the 'sunny side' when you have a problem rather than give you tangible feedback.
Looking at the kit, its hardly rocket science, no idea why it took 5 months to produce but now its here, I am very happy with it.
As others have said, if Barrow Conversion were more honest, stopped trying to hide their supply and production issues and communicated much better, the wait would not have been an issue and a future customer can make an informed purchase.
For now if you order today, according to their timetable, you should recieve delivery beginning of May. Good luck with that, I ordered August last year and just got mine, I hope at the very least they will be upfront with you about the timescale.
In an attempt to get my review removed they did the classic more info request, with a view that my review would be deleted in 3 days if I did not provide it, well I did provide it, so tough luck, my review stays and I dropped you another star for your shady behaviour.

Don't answer emails eventually they did after weeks promised they would refund me law states if its paid by card 3 -5 days its now 8 days still no refund so it looks like legal action
BCUK wait time and service
Be honest about delivery time and do not phone customers being abusive and telling them to expect no help from him for writing a bad review. Kit is great but service and contact is awful. Owner Mitch is a rude abusive man.

When I email I get no response or I get the same as last time and that is we are really busy.
Don't lie and just tell people delivery is unknown of your that busy.

Well, what can I say? Hopefully, with the (belated) arrival of my battery charger, I'll never have to have anything to do with this bunch of lying b******s ever again. It's been one long trail of BS and deceit.
I see no reason to believe that my experience would be any different to anybody elses, and if so why? That leads me to think that these glowing 5* reviews are generated by some Russian chat bot or similar. There are now alternatives out there, Global Angling being one. I strongly suggest that you consider these, instead.
Incidentally, there's no point in putting anything negative on Facebook, as they simply delete it.
TrustPilot appear to be concerned about fake negative reviews and so I've provided them with my order number and contact details. My greater concern is fake positive reviews.

Absolute joke of a company
Absolute joke of a company, ordered a conversion kit 16th May, finally had a (part) delivery 22wks later on 17th Oct, all bits arrived except the charger, apparently that's to follow, when I emailed/Facebook messaged to ask when I was simply ignored & blocked, I was one of many asking the same question on Facebook, looks like Mitch & his team still can't fulfill orders despite still taking them, my advice is to avoid this 2-bit company & buy elsewhere.
UPDATE:- Never did receive the charger, more proof that bcuk is a joke.

Well I also complained originally and after waiting 5 month. BUT worth the wait after receiving the goods and very positive reviews from other customers who said what I'm saying now ....I honestly think even they didn't expect the demand after a very successful advertising campaign and therefore this has caused all of the inevitable delays .But the quality of product, easy assembly the results after testing ( so far)are exactly
what I was hoping for , I've just ordered higher handles to make things even easier ,the torque is amazing from the 350 watt motor Yer. Obviously time will tell but so far 10 out of 10 for product. 4 star only given because of the delay but highly recommended for the price compared to buying outright power barrows .

Seems to be a common theme, but this is a terrible company. I placed my order at the beginning of March and paid for it in full, huge mistake! I was told that there would be a delay of up to 8 weeks, which was later revised to 12 weeks, after I phoned. This proved to be a pattern. The only time I ever heard anything was when I phoned or emailed. Eventually my wheel arrived, after more than 20 weeks, strangely only after I had emailed to say that I wanted my money back! Coincidence? I don’t think so. However, I had also ordered a number of bags with the wheel conversion, totalling £170, which never arrived. Indeed, when I received the wheel it said that the luggage was “to follow”. In the last week I have been told that the bags have not been made. Frankly, the whole experience has been awful! They do not communicate and are always full of excuses. To cap it all, when I made a negative comment on Facebook, Mitch said he didn’t understand why I was complaining and said that all that was outstanding was one of item of luggage, which is a lie and said that they hadn’t had time to make the luggage pack I had ordered, which is a bit hard to swallow after 7 months! I wish I had never heard of Barrow Conversions UK. The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. Can’t believe they will be in business much longer. Buyer beware!

I am very happy with the quality of my conversion Kit for my old Avid barrow. It fits really perfectly and the assembly was finished within 20 minutes. Great stuff great company!!!
Great product in the wrong hands
Product was Great, yes it took about 18 weeks to deliver after I had been promised a few different times ( I would have preferred honesty from the start!).
Customer service was shocking he was obviously stressed with his work load and decided to air that with me by being incredibly rude and disrespectful.
They have banned me on Facebook and tried to have this review taken down. Which again proves how dishonest they are and trying to hide customers experiences at all costs tells its own story. AVOID

My conversion lasted me 10 trips until the wheel struts buckled and bent,
I waited over 3rd of a year for my conversion to arruve, after payment. i messaged them by enail, social and phone and took weeks for them to reply, only when you put a comment on there page, they relly back pretty quick..........
barrow arrived, and all seemed ok, 10 trips later & the wheel struts twisted and barrow conversion is unusable. it took me 7 days to get a final reply from them, after i phoned, emailed many times! again, leaving a public post gets there attention.
i have now been blocked by them, ejoy my £600 wont you.
there response to my issue was.
pleaae phone to.purchase new struts at £60 plus. no, thanks, as i hsve no faith in your design or your company structure.
i found the staff to be arrogant once they have your money and i wish i never heard of this company.

Top Quality!
Firstly, I have no affiliation to BCUK whatsoever and was as frustrated as everyone else with the lead time extensions due to their staff issues and overwhelming order books..
My experience with the BCUK team has however been fantastic from start to finish.. I received feedback via telephone and email every step of the way in a timely manner, I like most had to wait (almost 20 weeks) for my delivery to arrive but when you want top quality hand built UK products you don't wait 2 weeks..
It's no different to buying a top of the range motor! It all has a lead time and the gear I've received far out ways the negativity of the wait time!

I have just come to the workshop in Crawley, after having a couple telephone conversations with Jade, to collect my rear wheel conversion kit with raised handles for my very old but trusty Mark 1 porter. I’ve been struggling a bit with all my gear following a stroke a little while ago. I thought I’d give it a go with the conversion kit to see if it makes my life easier. And does it?? Not Half!! What a decent bit of kit. Exactly what I needed. Not only does it make transportation so much easier, it really approves the overall stability on my porter. No more constantly trying to keep the porter balanced when fully loaded. Well worth the money. The boys in the workshop are really helpful and decent chaps. and I managed to get a quick peek at the electric barrow owned by one of the boys. Well impressed. There you go, I’m sold. My next toy for fishing - a new barrow and a conversions electric kit from barrow conversions. I’m thinking I’ll be buttering up to the Mrs between now and Xmas for my present from barrow conversions. 👍👍👍😃😃😃

Just visited these guys to get a set of the rear wheels and raised handles. Absolutely fantastic customer service and even fit them for me. 5 star from me and will be back for the power conversion soon!!

Avoid this company if you would like a product delivered on time. The owner lies about delays and the customer is made out to be the one at fault. Horrible customer service and would never use them again

Zero stars! Still waiting on a refund, the owner even went to the length of commenting on my personal Facebook profile in an attempt to claim I am a liar 🤣 he stated “we have refunded you” … no refund received and now the fraud department has had to step in to recover the money. Absolute scam company, they lie to you about lead times, they don’t answer emails or messages however, leave a bad review on here and they’ll be in touch within about an hour 🤣 what a joke of a company.
Edit* nothing I have said is remotely untrue, I have stated this on Facebook yes, along with plenty of other dissatisfied customers.
The ONLY reason i had an attitude was a direct result of leaving a bad review on here and subsequently getting a telephone call from the owner, Mitch Plowman berating me for leaving a bad review, yes I did tell him exactly what I thought.
I have since been in touch with West Sussex Trading standards, I have lodged a formal complaint under the consumer protection from unfair trading regulations 2019 and I’m sure they will be in touch.
Nothing about my review is FAKE, I am a real customer who paid BCUK on the April 10th, nothing has been delivered and nothing has been refunded as of yet 19 weeks later!!!
They ignored every contact from me up until this bad review and now suddenly Mitch seems to think the way to deal with this is to claim “Fake reviews” 🤣
Anyone reading this is welcome to PM directly and I’ll happily show you his comments (which I screen shot).
And yes I will continue to tell people about my experience as is my right to do so.
