Not recommended BASI Pilates Mat Program Amsterdam
I attended the BASI Pilates Mat Program in Amsterdam and unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by serious concerns regarding the structure and transparency of the course.
You pay €1,450 for the full program, attend all 6 required modules, and yet — unbelievably — you're not given a certificate of course completion. That only comes if you pay an extra €121 for the final exam and pass it. This means there is no official recognition that you've completed the full educational content unless you also go through their extra fee-based certification process.
This setup is extremely misleading. Most professional training programs separate the concept of course completion from certification. But here, both are blurred in a way that seems designed to push students toward paying more — while denying any documentation if you don’t.
Worse, the grading system is opaque. The only result you get is “pass” or “fail” with no numerical score, no breakdown, no transparency. This makes it hard to understand or learn from your performance, especially when you've invested significant money and time (not to mention travel expenses).
Communication throughout the course was inconsistent, with important exam information not sent as the planned date. And when concerns were raised, the tone of responses from administration quickly turned dismissive and unprofessional.
In my view, the way this program is marketed and executed does not align with standards in professional education. If you're considering enrolling, be fully aware of what you're paying for — and what you're not getting.
