I am submitting this review because I had a very disappointing experience ordering from this company. I purchased a gift for a coworker, and the item that was delivered looked nothing like the product that was advertised.
While I understand that substitutions may occasionally be necessary, the replacement items were in no way of equal or greater value than those originally represented.
In addition, the gift contained perishable items, yet the package arrived without any indication that it contained temperature sensitive products. Upon delivery, some of the fruit was rotten, the cheese was melted, and there was no ice pack included to help preserve the contents.
When I contacted customer service to express my concerns, I was told that there was nothing they could do because substituted items are not eligible for refunds or compensation. I found this response very disappointing, especially given the poor quality of the products received.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me questioning the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and product quality. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Total scam - what is pictured and described on the website is not at all what gets delivered. I ordered a 'Champagne & Spa' gift box and they delivered a cheap basket full of grocery store discount finds. Customer service does respond but they state that they are allowed to make substitutions (even for the entire gift). They use this as a way to deliver whatever they want, regardless of what they show in pictures or what you actually pay for. Do not order from them - total waste of money.

This company is scamming everyone and they know exactly what they're doing.
You'll be lucky to get what you ordered, if you get anything at all. Everything I received was a cheap dollar store or ALDI store brand substitutions that rarely resembled what I'd ordered - half of the products were perishable "keep refrigerated" items which were a literal hot mess when I received them in the 100 degree California weather. Most of the items I received were from discount grocery store Aldi, not premium artisan products as advertised.

I was excited to find a allegedly local company whom I could order a customized gift basket from for delivery.
The very first step was to select a delivery date to have it delivered to the recipient. This is normal for Occasion Gifting companies like flowers and baskets and is typically guaranteed due to being an occasion gift.

My gift was delivered days late. When I called to inquire, "Christine" expected me to accept her promise that it was shipped despite the tracking saying otherwise, (by this time I had started to catch on that this was not an honest company.) and insisted they refund since it had already missed the scheduled occasion. She became instantly hostile, and it became clear that they come prepared for every common complaint with a script hiding behind hidden policies.
In reality, "Baskets California" or "California Baskets" ( which is it? It depends on where you're reading it. It's different on the website, terms of service and emails.) is a scam company called The Gift Group running a whole network of websites selling the same fraudulent products. My research revealed a massive list of 60+ alternate DBA names, including: Baskets America, USA Baskets, Philadelphia Baskets, Connecticut Baskets, Washington Baskets, Maine Baskets, Vermont Baskets, Rhode Island Baskets, Hamilton Baskets, New York Baskets, Baskets Canada, Baskets USA, Hazelton's, Toronto Blooms, and dozens more. All of them fail to provide a actual contact company or any company identification. The Gift Group has an "F" rating on the Better Business Bureau, and it lists dozens of their different company websites there.

Calling their customer service phone number, they answer simply "Thank you for calling 'baskets', how may I help you." - without any actual brand identification - which means all of these websites are using the same call center. In fact, when I called, there was a distinct distortion or interference noise (resembling the agent rubbing the microphone on their headset) directly before the word "baskets" when the agent "Christine" answered, and it happened twice - This leads me to believe they're taking their fraud so far that they are literally requiring their agents to obscure the identifying name of the company to make customers think it's just a momentary fluke in the telephone call.I ended up disputing the charges on my credit card. Judging from Christine's response on the telephone, I expect them to challenge the dispute and that it is part of their business model that they scam people and challenge all disputes to make sure they get to keep their money.

shipping policy is misleading. Spent $150 on a basket to be delivered to someone that was in the hospital for a week - ordered on a Tuesday and "still in transit" on Friday.

This place is a total ripoff, I should have believed other reviews. Nothing in the Easter basket was anything I ordered. Came in a plain old box not the pink floral I ordered.. none of the contents was what I ordered.. Instead of the Dog Head craft beer in bottles, random cans... not pink velvet cookies, random lemon cookies and let's not forget the chocolate - Raisinettes, yep the same kind you get at the movies... a box of those and some peanut brittle oh and a small bag of bbq potato chips... and camembert cheese didn't order.. honestly I could have had Uber pick these items at the grocery store and delivered for about $25.00. I paid $123.00! And they wanted to make it right by giving me $37.00 told them to keep it. Then the big red bow... not Christmas, not Valentines...yes EASTER!! Jeez...Save your money people this place is the worst.. they could have contacted me to ask if these replacements were okay but... that would be the right thing to do.
