Very poor assisted travel.
Used assisted travel. This was inadequate in every way. Not enough staff. On departure, there were 9 passengers needing help and one person to help. He did his best and did well. All 9 passengers in wheelchairs had to use a single lift - one at a time , which took around 15 minutes.
On arrival,we waited on the plane for 40 minutes before help arrived. Again, no staff. Really not good enough.
Worst experience ever in an airport
Worst experience ever in an airport.Told us online to go to carousel 4 but a different destination was unloaded first with no information at all then we exited to a building sites outside the airport with no staff directing passengers or cars which resulted in complete bedlam.Baf end to the holiday
Why are negative stars ⭐️ not an option
Why are negative stars ⭐️ not an option? Dirty, rude staff, the security staff are super ignorant and thug like - I mean every British airport is sub developing country - but Heathrow and Luton for example have nice staff - I go to great lengths never to never use them - especially Alderdump - I now mostly use Dublin and last trip a few weeks ago I flew Dublin to London - I’ve travelled in well - Beirut - airport and staff felt like 5 star luxury compared to the ignorance of Alderdump - it’s redolent of Brexit and terminal decline -
DO NOT book the causeway
DO NOT book the causeway
Lounge is it not worth the money the food is rotten very little choice I was there 2 weeks ago there was a warm tomato pasta dish some breads and a bit if salad and a few deserts and crisps you are now limited to 2 drinks that are poured for you compared to the last time I was there you got your own drinks and there was a great selection of sandwiches wraps soups etc definitely not worth the money
Vile staff and an absolutely ridiculous…
Vile staff and an absolutely ridiculous security system. The most inefficient farce I’ve seen. If they where a proper airport they couldn’t cope. This airport always excels at making the first portion of any trip unpleasant.
Has to be the worst airport in Europe
Has to be the worst airport in Europe, from the drop off and collection rip off charges to the rip off short term stay parking charges despite the fact the carpark area is an absolute shambles. The whole experience is downhill from there. Looks like a new terminal building but it's just new cladding.
They must be raking it in on the park fees but no evidence of anything being spent on making the place a good experience for it's customers.
A terrible experience from start to finish. 0 stars if it was an option.
How people with a hidden disability are treated.
In my working career and going on holidays, I have traveled through a vast number of airports. The security at Belfast International has to be the worst. I have a hidden disability and when it flags up on their scanner, they insist on taking me into a side room to be strip searched. They have absolutely no empathy for the fact I have a disability, nor do they have the medical training to understand how this makes an individual feel to be singled out and dehumanised. Absolutely avoid this airport if you can. The security staff love to show their authority and if you have a hidden disability, they will do their utmost to make you feel small. Complaining to their complaints department or to your MP will make no difference. I’ve found the security staff at Belfast City to be much more more empathetic. Just a pity there wasn’t more International flights going from there.
PA system was not used to notifed
PA system was not used to notifed. Of plan boarding our closing of the gate.As a result mist flight .Had to pay and rebook.Only airport I have ever traveled through were the public announcements is not used.So I definitely would not recommend Belfast int airport. Stay clear .Use Dublin airport as it's is for more superior. And PA system keeps everyone up to date
Weak, flawed security
The web site says leave up to 2 litres of liquid in your hand luggage. What it doesn't don't tell you is that it must be in a plastic bottle. Lots of hand luggage was being pulled with metal water bottles.
The site tells you to 'label you hold luggage'. This airport is so throughother that they can't even proof read their own web site.
My travelling companion had a small plastic bottle of water confiscated because it 'failed a test'. The security supervisor admitted it happened several times per day but the machine didn't tell them why it failed. Surely if a passenger has been caught trying to bring a dangerous liquid on board then that passenger should not fly.
Or perhaps the machines just don't work and we really are all at risk using this airport? Time will tell.
This airport is an absolute joke
This airport is an absolute joke and an embarrassment to Northern Ireland. Avoid at all costs and fly from Belfast City if you can especially if flying for business day trip as chances are you need to arrive hours and hours in advance and stand in security que for 1 to 2 hours full of worry that you will miss flight and you most likely will !!
Staff could not care less and manager was even worse
Why do they have 6 or 7 lanes and yet every single time only 2 lanes open during peak times. This is not a one off experience this is every single time I fly from here...pathetic
AVOID AVOID AVOID
Probably the worst business lounge.
Always overbooked. No access for card holders. No wait listing. Unfriendly staff. Small and extremely worn out lounge. Very poor good both variety and quality. Limit to 2 drinks. Probably the worst business lounge.

7-8 security scanners and only 2 open on a Monday morning in the summer

Pathetic
Gambling Machines in Lounge area
Gambling Machines in Lounge area, previously Oasis gambling now Merkur. There is no getting away from these places. Such bad place too put these with no care for for the people with passing through, pure profit!! Over £900 in on one terminal ‘ no return too player, blatant robery. These are £500 jackpot machines which are illegal in Northern Ireland. Will be reporting too the police for unfair practice. Horrible why don’t they give a fair return. Same as there sites all over the north of Ireland unfair and no RTP. Well don’t too the airport that let these criminals rent a site there highly responsible, knowing that the gambling problems in the north are the highest in Britain but no one cares.
Also ignorant rude security staff, employing teenagers with no people skills.

Please please do not pay for “premium security” (fast pass) as there is none and avoid the business lounge at all costs. Awful food, no soft seats and a limit of 2 drinks per person. If there was an award category for the worst lounge in the world, Belfast international would have a host of trophies.
Stephen Henry
I would just like to mention a member of staff who was very helpful. I arrived with my family from Majorca 15/7/2026. My daughter forgot to collect her childs buggy from the baggage area. They were on the way home when they realized. My husband and I were still at the airport waiting to be collected. A lovely man called Stephen Henry. He told me he works there for the summer. He directed me to a lady who also was very helpful... sorry I didn't get her name..and within 10 minutes we had our buggy back..thank you.

Visited the causeway lounge at the airport at a cost of £25 per person. The food was disappointing to put it mildly. Best on offer was cold pasta served with what I think was dolmio sauce.
Staff in lounge embarrassed saying the airport is doing a refurb
Not a good experience!
There were 3 people with disabilities ongoing with 3 companions
On landing we were told only room for 4 people. A gentleman volenteered who had undergone a knee operation ,who was very unsteady on his feet
The aeroplane lift is full of wheel chairs. And my immediate thought was if they had removed a couple there would have been room for the other man
Leaving the aeroplane lift ,there was only one young man ,very pleasant and trying to be helpful but my husband and the elderly ladies daughter ,had to push us ,we had to go right along the corridors by ourselves and through border control ... find the lift, (where the yong nan appeared again) to get to the baggage area below. The young man help the ksfy get her cases but my husband was left pushing me plus maneuvering 2 large cases, down sloping areas to find the exit
Compared to the assistant we received in Faro airport Belfast International was abysmal...Very dissappinted
I am hoping this experience was not the norm, and was due to staff shortages

Since my last review was removed as trustpilot don’t like the truth. I shall leave it as avoid this airport at all costs. I am severely disabled and made to go through security several times. Can’t say anything else or else trust pilot will remove it because they are for the companies first and the people second. So just avoid…
I just wanted to praise the Duty…
I just wanted to praise the Duty Manager, Lorna Crone for her kindness, calmness and professionalism. Had it not been for her intervention last Friday my wheelchair bound father and I would have missed our flight. She made sure that did not happen and is a true credit to the airport.
Absolutely dreadful experience
Absolutely dreadful experience. No improvement in security, the prices of food are shocking. £9.88 for a stale croissant. If you want a cooked breakfast £18. Toilets absolutely disgusting. Dirty nappies oozing out of bin, toilet blocked and used water bottles in the sink.
