Unprofessional

Unprofessional! But apparently when I told them straight to their faces they were offended. I ordered a bench from their website; it kept saying “FREE DELIVERY”. I checked out the item and paid for it. After less than a half hour, I received an email from them saying that I have to pay £20 delivery because what ai order is “a small item” and the free delivery is only for “big furniture”. Having dealt with so many online shops by now (that was w red flag for me) I asked them politely to cancel the money and refund me. They said okay without giving me any timeline of when that will happen. After more than a week, I emailed asking for a timeframe (when to expect my refund back), their customer service was unprofessional and said “it’s very complicated” and “they’re gonna have to remind the manager because he’s the only one who can do it”. I was shocked by their unprofessional behavior and don’t get me started on their ways of handling simple things!

Hi there it clearly states on checkout that there is a delivery fee for furniture and large items, we only calculate this once we have arranged a collection to ensure we offer the customer the best delivery price. we charge delivery on all our furniture items and unfortunately refunds can only be done via the owner, this is beyond our control. We have responded to every email you have sent and advised you on the time frames we were given. No one told you it was complicated to refund your money, other than it had to go through the owner. every business has a structure of management, as I'm sure you can appreciate. I think we asked why you felt we were being unprofessional because there wasn't much more we were able to do for you an it would help us in the future, but you refused to answer this.

Ordered a desk in the sale

Problems with the broken desk I purchased were satisfactorily resolved. It's a beautiful piece of furniture but had become badly damaged in transit. Although it was difficult to reach customer service at first, when I did get through to them eventually they helped sort the situation.

I am sorry you have had a bad experience with your delivery, it was packaged should have been wrapped in bubble wrap and then black shrink wrap over the top which is what most companies use to wrap their large items, if it came in a bin bag this leads me to believe that he delivery company we use have damaged and repacked the item. Could you please let me know how you have tried to contact us, as our phone lines are available from 10am to 5pm monday to friday.

Do not buy from this company!

Tried buying a birthday present for the start of August. Made a next day delivery but unfortunately arrived over 3 weeks late. Tried calling several times during this period to see why the gift hadn't arrived and if I could get a refund as I had no faith it was going to be delivered. Completely clueless customer service on the phone - present basically just arrived unannounced.

Have tried getting payment back for next day delivery since. Again completely hopeless talking to them on the phone - basically delay tactics of we'll speak to our manager and get back to you but nothing ever happens. Given up trying to get the money back for that at this point - don't buy from this company unless you want a headache at the end of it!

Im sorry that you had a bad experience, however we did try everything to help you , on the numerous times you phoned, we told you that the item had been delivered, even on the occasion you told us it hadnt, tracking was stating it had and we sent you the tracking number, unfortunately we are not responsible for the delivery company. As customer services we do not deal with refunds and everything has to be referred up the system to the owners, we are not clueless, just only certain things we can deal with ourselves. I can only apologise for the bad experience you had.

Absolutely Terrible

Wish we paid more attention to the bad reviews. The chest we ordered arrived with a huge hole in the back. After a number of weeks trying to persuade the seller that this was damaged beyond use, they then said we must pay £72 for it to be returned (despite it being badly damaged on arrival). Since requesting that they cover the cost of return, Birch and Yarn have refused to respond to any emails at all. Absolutely terrible customer service and the worst consumer care we’ve ever experienced - shockingly bad!

In am sorry you have had a bad experience with us, unfortunately we are not responsible for the delivery company we use and can only seek to look for a better company, that treat our items with respect. Unfortunately our returns policy is that the customer pays for the return postage on the items, as is the policy with most companies. I do believe you have now been contacted and the refund is being dealt with.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company! Customer service is absolutely disgusting, no one answers the phone But on the couple of occasions someone has picked up the phone they have been next to useless. No one knows where my Indian painted bench is and I am still waiting to hear whether I will get it or not. I have had to raise a refund from my bank because I cannot get in touch with anyone from Birch& yarn. Will I ever get my bench or my £300 back?

When I mistakenly ordered 2 items instead of 1 it was quickly rectified with no problem. All Products are super GORGEOUS, well made and well priced. My favourite place to shop :)Great customer service.

I must have emailed birch and yarn at least 15 times about a trade account. Ive had one emailed back saying they will get back to me the following week. Weeks later after email after email no reply.. how they run a buisness is beyond me very rude that they can't be arsed to reply to my email. And it's a shame cause some of the stuff if lovely
