We recently had Victor organise our 15-day vacation to Australia, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. He took care of absolutely everything — flights, hotel accommodations, and even a car for local travel — so all we had to do was show up and enjoy!
His itinerary planning was spot on, covering the right places without feeling rushed. What impressed us just as much was how responsive he was throughout the entire process — no question went unanswered for long, and we always felt well looked after.

I had booked a holiday to Santorini for my husband’s 40th birthday. However, while we were en route, our flight was diverted to Athens and eventually cancelled due to severe weather conditions. After spending nearly two days at Athens airport, we were eventually returned to Gatwick. Unfortunately, as a result, the holiday did not go ahead.
I contacted the travel agent Victor (who booked my holiday package for me) asking for a refund as we did not reach the destination. They were not answering my phone calls so I sent messages and emails requesting a refund.
After several days of trying to get through to them I received an email from Victor accusing me of “voluntary cancellation” and saying I would not get a refund. I was shocked as I did not cancel my holiday, my flight was cancelled due to weather and I could not reach my destination.
After sending messages/emails back and forth, they kept repeating that it was “voluntary cancellation” and refused to refund my money.
I tried getting through to the manager but got through to the floor manager Dominic, who was very rude and not willing to help. He accused me of choosing to come back to Gatwick therefore “voluntary cancellation”. I explained that while I was stranded in Athens I contacted Victor several times asking for help. I was given no other options of alternative flights, the ONLY option I had was to return back with the flight we departed with. No alternative help/options were given.
I threatened to contact ATOL as they were not willing to give me a refund. Later that day, six days in to trying to get my refund, I received a call from Dominic. He offered me less than half of my money back. I was not happy with this, so I ended up raising a dispute with my credit card company. I did not receive a refund from Bird Voyage, and had to resolve it through my card provider.
It was unnecessary stress I had to go through. They clearly knew it was not a voluntary cancellation, but kept reframing and twisting the situation to make it seem like it was, so they wouldn’t have to refund me. It was very frustrating and upsetting. I found Bird VOYAGE unprofessional, dishonest, and misleading.
Do not book with Bird Voyage. If your holiday goes ahead, everything is fine, but if there is a problem and they owe you a refund, they will twist the situation and make accusations to avoid paying you back.

Hard earned success
Until 16:30 Friday 17th April despite numerous emails to and from Birdvoyage, I was denied a full refund for a cancelled holiday to Dubai. On Sunday afternoon 19th April I submitted a review to Trustpilot outlining the whole sorry saga. At 09:51 on Monday 20th April I received a call from Birdvoyage asking would i take a call, from a senior member of staff, I agreed. At 10:06 I took the call from a very excitable person who wanted to offer me a full refund of £3,328 for ("I see your whole package got cancelled") and would I do him a favour and remove the review I had posted on Sunday. I agreed to this and deleted the post later in the day. The objective of this review, the length of which i apologise for in advance is to highlight the lengths this company had gone to and the lies it had told in order to achieve its objective of not refunding the total cost of a holiday package paid for in full and eventually cancelled by them or their associates.
Conflict started on 28th February. Around 30th March Emirates airlines extended full refund cancellations of flights booked up to and including 30th April. Hotel has a policy of full refund for cancellations up to day before check in. We were going on 26th April for 6 nights.
I advised Birdvoyage, we were not going to travel into a war zone or against FCDO 'Essential travel only' advice invalidating our travel insurance or under the ABTA definition of 'Unavoidable and exceptional circumstances such as War at or near your destination.
Birdvoyage dismissed all of these reasons and suggested I wait till the 25th of April to ascertain if the flight on the 26th was cancelled whereupon we would be entitled to a full refund, alternatively if the flight was not cancelled and we did not travel, we would forfeit the total cost of the package as a no show. They did offer some other options like changing the holiday destination or rescheduling the holiday to a later date. We declined these other options.
You may get a good picture of how this company operates from the lies it has told me since we first indicated that I wanted them, under a duty of care for their customers, to cancel the holiday and achieve a full refund for us similar to what reputable companies such as EASY JET, HAYS, JET 2, LOVE HOLIDAYS, ON THE BEACH and others have done for their customers.
I did not want to voluntarily cancel the holiday as quite heavy penalties can be levied for that action.
So! Here are a sample of the lies told to avoid a full refund from them even after they or their associates actually cancelled the holiday package and received full refunds from the airline and hotel:
31/3/26 LIE 1 "It is only flight only bookings that can be rescheduled or cancelled at no cost and full refunds achieved".
31/3/26 LIE 2 "Cancellations do not apply to package holidays".
31/3/26 LIE 3 "We have secured a refund of £1,439 per person",
1/4/26 LIE 4 "The retained amount reflects supplier imposed costs from the airline and hotel".
1/4/26 LIE 5 "These are contractual charges and not discretionary fees applied by us".
1/4/26 LIE 6 "The 12 - 14 week time frame is based on current processing periods advised by our suppliers".
2/4/26 LIE 7 "We have acted proactively and in good faith to negotiate the maximum possible refund from all suppliers resulting in the offer previously shared with you".
As at this time the package had NOT been cancelled with the airline or the hotel.
13/4/26 LIE 8 "At the present time your booked travel arrangements remain operational.....and no supplier forming part of your package has cancelled or significantly altered the contracted services. On that basis the legal threshold required to terminate the package without charge has not been met". A litany of lies in order to retain £450 of the package cost. At the time of submitting the review on Sunday no resolution had been reached and I had NOT received confirmation from them that they or their associates had cancelled the booking achieving full refunds.
Their email of 17th April stated:
"We are still in the process of obtaining final written clarification from our suppliers to fully reconcile the position regarding your booking. As mentioned earlier, this step is essential to ensure that any resolution offered aligns with the confirmed financial and contractual status of the reservation. At this stage, we are not yet in a position to authorise a full refund".
At the end of the telephone conversation with the senior manager he said "perhaps we will cross swords again in the future" I should have responded "The pen is mightier than the sword" which has been proved in this case.
The reader can decide what they think brought this saga to a successful conclusion.
