PreAppproved...Don't Fall for it..Scammers
All sorts of emails and texts that I received stating that I was preapproved for a boat loan. Then, they denied the loan indicating that I had never taken out a large loan before ($120K) and said I would need a Co-Signer. I am 60-years old and make multiple 6-figures, and have never been asked for a co-signer, including on a Porsche GT3 RS. What a waste of time...avoid them. They have a 1.4 Star Rating and I now know why.

Smoke and Mirrors
Went through the process of Pre-Qualifying for a used boat loan. Submitted all my information including the Year, Make, and Model of the Vessel being acquired. Boatzon marked it as Pre-Qualified however when I went to finalize the loan they stated they don't finance anything older than 20 years old and resold my information to a 3rd party.
Why go through the whole process of pre-qualifying someone with the exact vessel information when you know you don't have a lending product for them?

For clarity, we do not sell your information to any third parties. We have a lending partner that specializes in boats older than 20 years, and we simply forward your information since we're unable to directly accommodate your request. Initially you'll get several phone calls, but then after you apply for a loan its a ghost town. Ive called 5 times and left several messages over a week long period and zero response.

Do not buy from them….FRAUD….sent…
Do not buy from them….FRAUD….sent money, returned money, claimed the motor we paid for was in its way…tracking number was for a package that weighed less than 40 pounds..not a 200 HP outboard for sure….not even delivered to our address. Been dealing with these jokers for almost 2 months. Filing a police report for fraud.
Still no motor from Boatzon…..what a joke…DO NOT BUY FROM THIS “ BUSINESS “, they are a SCAM!

Tried many times to set up an account to purchase a boat. Gets to the next step and wont let me proceed. Cannot even create an account...moving on, plenty of places to buy a boat.

False Rates and claims…
I was quoted a decent rate with payment of $399 a month for 12 years. Once we were ready to close I decided to add $7,000 more to my down payment. To get even better rate, term stayed the same but payment went to $412 a month and interest went a lot higher. I ended up refusing the loan. I can’t work with a company that crazy.

Do not apply! Waste of time.
I have a 760 credit score, applied Thursday & received an immediate pre-approval. They claim fast funding-yet I have heard nothing since. The boat I am purchasing is just waiting for me to fund it after several days of hearing nothing, I called Friday & Monday, both times the girl says it is in underwriting and we will have someone call you right away. No calls back. I am going to pay cash for my boat so I dont lose it. This was a waste of time & caused unnecessary delays that now force me to pay another 2k to fly back to Florida to close late.

False advertising
False advertising, do not trust this company! Advertised as anyone with a 620 beacon score or above and over 2 years of credit history will get approval.... this is false. Use a real bank. Don't trust this online nonsense like I feel victim to.

All of our responsible lenders have an obligation to thoroughly review each application to ensure they only extend credit to those who they merit can reasonably afford to pay it back. This helps protect both our customers and our business.
While we do advertise general approval guidelines which are by No Means a blanket approval statement, a credit decision involves evaluating multiple data points beyond just a credit score and length of credit history. Other factors like income, existing debt obligations, recent credit inquiries, and the type of the boat desired in the request are also carefully considered during an underwriting decision.
We understand the disappointment of being denied credit, especially if you felt you met the stated qualifications. However, making exceptions to our underwriting standards would be unethical and could put customers at risk of taking on more debt than is advisable for their financial situation.
Rest assured, our approval criteria are transparently disclosed, and we have no intention of misleading potential customers. We simply have a data-driven responsibility to ensure lenders proceed prudently. For those who do not qualify with us, we wish you the best in exploring options better aligned with your current credit profile.

I thought boatzon.com was the lender. Did not know it's a lender-finding service. Could've saved some money finding lenders on my own. Don't think I'll be using again.

THEY LIE ABOUT INVENTORY
I work for a dealership in KY and we have received calls saying our inventory was on the cite. We have NEVER given them permission to use our pictures or say that they could list our inventory and "sell" it. Our sign is visible in pictures of the boats as well. They are not even trying to hide the fact that they are poaching inventory from dealers and trying to sell it as their own when they have ZERO access to it. Keep this in mind when you are looking because this has happened to multiple dealers and customers.
