Daniel has no idea what he’s talking…
Daniel has no idea what he’s talking about. This thing is great! It DOES have have something where you can reach out to potential clients. It also is a very helpful tool for anyone that actually does the work. It’s not going to do everything for you.
If you've been gigging for more than 6…
If you've been gigging for more than 6 months, there's nothing helpful here. I was under the impression that there were venue contacts, etc. It's just very basic advice on how to organize and look for venues. Not worth $4, let alone $40.
BookLive is critical to my business!
BookLive is absolutely essential to my private event entertainment business. It keeps track of all the details for each event, each client, each musician/DJ, my music library, and all my payments. It automates SO much busy work that I don't have time for.
The Gig Vault system is amazing, and Jared Judge keeps adding to the functionality to make it better. I am constantly making new partnerships in the event industry and converting leads into clients by using the BookLive platform and Jared's strategies. Would highly recommend trying out BookLive and joining the Fulltime Music Academy community!
BookLive: The All in One Tool for Musicians and Their Gigs
I was first introduced to Jared through a mutual friend as we were both from the same city originally. Thinking when I connected with him that I was going to be networking with another musician, I was surprised to find out that he had created an entire new platform to streamline the booking process for gigs. Not only that, he changed my mentality of focusing on Private Venues and getting on preferred vendor lists for repeated referrals.
He and his team are consistently providing feedback, as well as updates to the platform, making it more user-friendly and streamlined. I’ve even had venue managers, asking me what platform I use expressing interest because it has such a sensible user interface and ease for booking, chatting about the gig, and paying invoices.
The gig alone is worth the value just to have an organized place to store all prospective clients, venues, and incorporate them into sales cadences communication is always on top.
If you are on the fence, give it a test ride with the trial, you won’t regret it! It just makes sense and you will see for yourself how relatable the platform is to musicians specifically.
I've had a great experience with Booklive!
I've had a great experience with Booklive and the Full-Time Musician's Academy. I originally started listening to the Podcast "The Gigging Musicians Podcast" which despite the short run time of the episodes (usually around 10-15 minutes tops) found them chock full of informative topics about gigging that challenged me to shift my mindset about booking and marketing myself. Jared's philosophy is more about getting things going whether that be getting more footage, more marketing materials, or networking in intelligent ways that yield you more leads and more partners. I've recently just moved but thanks to his 5 day challenges and most of all Booklive itself I feel like I have pretty good momentum already partnering with two Wedding Venues, booking two public gigs, with a few other leads pending (fingers crossed!) and another Venue Tour this week! It's unfortunate that the other person here did not give it a chance as Jared is very passionate about Booklive, TFTMA, and the success of its members. Jared is always active on the TFTMA Facebook group, encouraging and engaging with members (of every tier) as well as responding to personal questions on a DM or an email which imo is above and beyond. Booklive has given me a framework to be much more organized than using a spreadsheet and has streamlined venue outreach for me. The Podcast, 5 day challenges, and Booklive have shifted me into being more action oriented, confident about my abilities and value, and just more organized in general. Of course it's still up to you to do the work as there is no magic pill here but in my opinion the resources here are immense and the intent behind it is about much more than profit. There's definitely a sense of community here.
I LOVE BookLive!
I love, love, LOVE BookLive! It is well worth the money every month, which honestly is very reasonable. It makes gig management a breeze. Yes, it was an adjustment at first switching from my old way of doing things (*cough* paper contracts 😳 *cough*). But Jared, the creator of BookLive, actually personally called me and walked me through how he uses it when I first started, and answered all my questions from my old way of doing things and how I can do them in BookLive instead. Not only that, but with the chat function on the website, Jared has always been readily available anytime I had a question or an issue. Talk about a very personal and hands-on company!! You just don’t find that with some of these more corporate type of businesses, who really don’t care if you’re there or not. I’ve been using BookLive since 2021 and Jared has constantly been making improvements - it’s a software that just gets better and better. I love the automation it offers with booking my musicians for gigs, and reminding clients about timeline and music due dates, and remaining payments as well. No more texting musicians and trying to keep track of who said yes or no - BookLive does it for me. Even the musicians I hire love BookLive and I’ve gotten countless comments from them saying what a good decision I made getting it! I highly recommend it to any musician, especially it you hire other musicians at all, this software is a total no-brainer. Even just the other day, I messaged Jared about a change I needed, and he offered me some amazing solutions! BookLive is 100% worth it!
Doesn't provide what was advertised
I responded to an instagram ad from BookLive about their "Gig Vault". I've used services like this in the past and they don't usually turn out to be anything they promise. But I'm always open to one day someone proving me wrong. BookLive was NOT that company.
First after inputting my credit card information, their website said I'd receive a login email. I did not.
Then I tried "resetting my password" numerous times in order to maybe generate one. This also did not work.
Promptly I did receive another email from them about something I "left behind" in my order. But still no login information.
I responded back to that email advising that I still had not received a login email and that a link in their email led to a 404 error website. I also informed them that I had no way to cancel my subscription because I didn't have a login.
The founder Jared responded with login information from a different email than the one I signed up with and a new password.
This login information also didn't work at all.
I responded back again informing him of this and letting him know I was uncomfortable with his company having my payment information but not providing any of the services they advertised.
I used this other email address to try resetting my password and was finally able to login. Upon logging in the website informed me that the "Gig Vault" that was advertised and was the reason I gave this company a shot in the first place, was behind a paywall and that you needed to have a "pro" account in order to use it. It was in fact not included in the 30 day trial that the advertisement and the website claimed.
I sent another email asking to have my account completely deleted from their system as I had no use for it if they weren't going to provide the things that were advertised.
If you thought this company was a "cancel with no questions asked" type place, you would be wrong. Instead of honoring my cancellation request, Jared, the founder, then called me on the phone to discuss. I let him know numerous times that I would like to cancel and that his system wasn't for me. He then tried to give me quotes from his college professors and asked that I give his company a chance. I informed him that I had given them numerous chances at this point, siting our numerous emails and the various errors in the process already, but he wouldn't take no for an answer.
I had to ask for cancellation numerous times in order for him to finally grant that request. Now we'll see if my account was actually cancelled or not.
