Very long que to get into the tip

KEIGHLEY TIP
Very long que to get into the tip, once you enter the site its a free for all, loads of staff stood watching people struggle with heave items.
On leaving after a car full of waste criticised by a member of staff commented on our new car as we had made a mess in the boot saying "You'll have to get a new car now " and "Off to Wetherspoons is it"

Useless .

Worst council service ever — especially Council Tax & Benefits team

Over the past few years, my experience dealing with Bradford Council — especially the Council Tax and Benefits team — has been absolutely awful, and honestly the worst customer service I have ever received anywhere.

The staff I have spoken to over the phone are consistently rude, have zero telephone manners, and speak to you like you are nothing. They have such a poor, arrogant attitude, and completely lack any empathy or sympathy whatsoever. It feels like they hire a bunch of the most horrible people possible to work on the phones — every single time I call or they call me, I end up feeling on edge, upset, scared, and anxious. I have suffered panic attacks and been left physically shaking because of the way they speak to me and treat me. It is unacceptable that people whose job it is to help residents behave this way.

On top of the terrible attitude, they make constant errors with billing and accounts. I have found mistake after mistake on my own account, and every single time, if I hadn’t noticed and raised it myself, nothing would ever have been done about it. They just leave things wrong until you fight to get them fixed. It feels like you have to know exactly what you are talking about or they will just get away with it, and even when you do point out their mistakes, they argue with you and act like you are the problem.

I also called recently to report a serious safety issue regarding rodents on my street, and again I got the same poor attitude from a member of staff — they clearly didn’t want to help, didn’t care about the issue, and made it feel like “it’s my way or no way”. There is absolutely no willingness to assist or support people who live here.

I know for a fact I am not alone in this. So many friends and family I have spoken to have had exactly the same experiences, and I see constant complaints about this on social media too — it is clearly a widespread issue, not just me. I have dealt with councils in neighbouring cities, and the difference is night and day — their staff are polite, helpful, understanding, and actually do their jobs properly. Bradford Council is honestly the worst I have ever come across.

You are supposed to be there for the community, to help and support residents, but instead you leave people distressed, anxious, and feeling like a burden. It really needs to change.

If I could give 0 I would for the how…

If I could give 0 I would for the how rude and abrupt staff members are that work for the council.

I paid £50 for 3 items to be collected via bulk collection and only 2 were taken. When I rang the department they said the didn’t see the 3 item despite it being visible.

I spoke with a lady named Kalsoom who works in the bulk waster department. She screamed at me over the phone and did not listen to my query, her manager Jenny was equally rude.

I then went through the complaints department who stated that it was not their problem.

I would not recommend anyone to use the bulk collection service, it is a waste of money and they do not collect your items.

The staff are rude and not helpful. Please avoid at all costs.

Charge notices are being issued with photographic evidence that is not clear enough to properly identify either the vehicle or its registration plate, making it impossible to verify if the notice is correct. Additionally, the signage marking clean zone boundaries appears to be inadequate and not easily visible, leaving drivers unaware they are entering a restricted area.

In my opinion, the system as it stands is not fit for purpose, and the council needs to make significant improvements to ensure fairness and clarity for all road users.

What a dump

I have recently been pinged a fine for the ULEZ charge; I didn't realise a 2L van was included, as it tends not to be in other cities. Surely there is an amount of consistency needed here?
Another example of a cash strapped council (poor management and likely disrespect for public money contributes here) using 'the climate emergency' to generate income - what a joke.
Ordinarily, I would have contested but, I neither have the time, energy, or desire to engage with this type of organisation. It's worth just paying the additional cost.
Also, after driving through Bradford I'm feeling much better about myself and things in general; I consider myself very lucky not to live there. And if the money is spent wisely, they are very welcome.
What a hovel!

Wheelie Bin Repair Service fraudulently marking repairs as completed online

Waste & recycling bin lids were damaged within one month of each other by refuse vehicles snapping one hinge on each bin.
I registered this on the Bradford Council website filling in every detail as prompted hoping for a quick repair. Received an automated email of my request stating this has been logged in with our waste depot for repair.
Logged in a month later for an update, both bins had been marked repaired. Checked the bins outside no repair has been made.
Relogged the issue online & a month later exactly the same response repairs have been completed when they have not.
To me this is dishonest & needs raising to someone with higher authority.

This council is corrupt.

This council is corrupt.
No liability orders exist since Oct 2003.
One woman actually has proof via a recorded phone call that the council produce all the legal documents themselves and no court hearing is ever held, only a closed room where the council tell the court that these people are liable and then summonses and orders ( all without red court seals and authority) are issued.
They put a charging order on two properties of mine that share the same deed, for a tenant's 4 ,600 council tax arrears. They have proof of the tenant's rental agreement and acceptance of liability, and know that I only used one of the houses as a c/o address for mail as I was away looking after an elderly relative a lot and did not want my post in my own post box (at my own house) for long periods due to anyone who may have taken it.
The tenant in one of the houses receives Universal Credit so their council tax is paid.
The council are fraudulent thieves in my personal opinion and the opinion of thousands of others that I am in contact with, and they want to hold me responsible so they can rob me of my assets.
If anyone needs evidence of this please get in touch.

This council unlawfully fined me in the…

This council unlawfully fined me in the Bradford ulez zone.. I was unaware my van at the time was actually compliant but dvla didn't have the correct information updated. I paid the fine purely because I was unsure and the cut off date along with negative reviews in appealing. A while later I realised the van was actually compliant in which dvla have updated. I contacted the council for a refund as they should of cross checked this before issuing me with a fine. They have never responded but taken my money.

Bin replacement

Put bin out before going to work, came home in morning to find it's been taken by somebody overnight, rang up to order new bin as couldn't find it driving around. Paid the 39 pound delivery charge to find out it can take upto 10 to 20 week before I may get it even after explaining why time scale doesn't work. Not bothered about where i put household waste until new one arrives,Make no wonder people steal them with the cost and waiting time involved. Not happy at all, thought you would get a better response to resolve as council tax bill should cover this.

Our road was recently closed on bin…

Our road was recently closed on bin collection day, due to electrical work. Keelham Lane. I rang and informed the powers that be of the situation and was told they would try to collect when the road was open again- supposedly 3 days on. In the event the road was open a day early. The refuse collection was done that same day. Well done to the men concerned. It is easy to criticise but praise is not often given. Thank you.

Waste collection service is non existent.…

Waste collection service is virtually non existent. In the past 6 months they have not turned up to collect waste on designated day. We will be lucky if they turn up within 2 days. Usually don't collect until a full month later. In meantime, rubbish and vermin on the streets. No communication of delays and helpline should be renamed unhelpful line. I suggest bringing the Army in and sacking the execs and councillors that preside over this mess of a council

HORRIBLE

switch board not helping ar all even told them been on phone already for 1 hrs. Then they put me through for another 30 mins. without answer then I gave up. Just needed get my reference number because with out can't do anything online.
Why on earth we paying theirs wedges???!!!

Utterly incompetent

A few weeks ago without any notification they changed our bin collection day but this week they have just not bother to show up. We try to do our best and recycle but as our recycling bin is now full, everything will be going in general waste. The only service we get from this joke of a council is refuse removal and they can't even manage that properly, despite raising our Council Tax by 9% three months ago. So the upshot is whilst they can squander money on allegedly being City of Culture, which in my opinion has fallen utterly flat on it's face, they can't ensure they provide basic services. What an utter shambles!
