Worst service I’ve ever received

Worst service I’ve ever received. Dropped car off at 8.30 am with an 12v battery warning that had been recurring for weeks and asked them to investigate and replace if need be. I returned at 5pm having received no phone call or information all day (the only car in our household). I’ve just got in the car and the same warning is on the dash. Not convinced they did anything at all. Just take it home and charge it they said. Like I hadn’t already tried that. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

Used car - Good sale experience - Terrible after care!

I bought a used car from Bridgend Ford. The sale itself went smoothly, but the experience since then has been extremely frustrating. We paid an additional £2,000 for the extended warranty and have had ongoing difficulty getting any support. When we do manage to get through, we’re constantly passed from one person to another, left on hold for long periods, or sent to voicemail when no one is available—only to have to start the whole process again. The cycle has been exhausting and disappointing, especially after what started as a positive purchase experience.

Stay away from Bridgend Ford.

What should have been an exciting milestone for myself, Husband and my son turned into an ongoing nightmare. From the very beginning, our experience with Bridgend Ford has been nothing short of disappointing, stressful, and financially damaging.

The Car We Reserved Was Sold to Someone Else,
The day before visiting, I viewed a car, went home to complete insurance checks, and then reserved it online. We arrived the next morning at the agreed time of 10am, only to be told it had been sold the previous evening. We were devastated and felt completely let down. Trying to move on, we looked around the forecourt and were shown a Ford Fiesta. Despite going over budget, we were reassured that it was a reliable vehicle. Looking back, this could not have been further from the truth.

Problems After Purchase Day 1 – 9 November Within five minutes of driving away, a tyre-pressure warning light appeared. We returned immediately and were told that the tyres just needed air. The warning later reappeared, and we were then told multiple sensors were faulty — and one was missing entirely. The car had to be left with them for repair. What should have been a happy day for my son became stressful and upsetting.

15–16 November – Engine Fault The engine management light illuminated while my son was driving. After being passed between departments on the phone, we were eventually told to bring the car back in. We were then informed it needed a new wet belt costing over £50 — something that should absolutely have been raised during the sales process. This meant more unpaid time off work, another long round trip, and more disruption, though we were reassured the repair would be completed to a “high standard.”

9 December – First Major Oil Leak The vehicle developed a significant oil leak that caused damage to our property and caused huge stress. We agreed to have the work completed at ford and were assured the repairs were completed to the highest standard.

19 January – Second Major Oil Leak - Another large leak occurred, further damaging our driveway and even the public footpath. The staff member I spoke to was extremely unhelpful and rude. I emailed but received no response. I was then sent multiple texts that an engineer would attend my home. I had to take unpaid time off work. The engineer then told me the car was not fit for purpose. A tow truck was arranged, again forcing me to miss more work. Again ford carried out the work to supposedly the highest standard.

10 February – Third Major Oil Leak — this time far from home. We had no choice but to use a nearby independent garage and incur more costs. At this point, the ongoing issues had become exhausting, upsetting, and financially damaging.

GDPR Concerns - On top of all the mechanical problems, we discovered years’ worth of the previous owner’s personal documents inside the vehicle:
• phone number
• home address
• bank information
This is a serious GDPR breach and raised huge concerns about how Bridgend Ford handles customer data — including ours.

This entire experience has caused us stress, inconvenience, financial loss, and a complete loss of confidence in the dealership — and in Ford vehicles in general. The level of customer care, communication, and vehicle quality we have received has been shocking.

The communication from their HR representative has also been extremely unprofessional. The tone of her emails was so patronising that I eventually stopped responding altogether. Not only were the replies dismissive, but they also arrived many days after my original emails of concern, adding even more frustration to an already stressful situation. On one occasion, I specifically asked to speak to her directly, but I was told she was “in a meeting.” Despite requesting a phone call, she still did not contact me and instead continued sending the same patronising emails. This behaviour made it very clear that genuine customer support, accountability, and timely communication are simply not priorities for Bridgend Ford

Bridgend Ford do not respond to emails when support is actually needed, yet they are quick to send patronising messages about “goodwill gestures” that feel more like attempts to cover themselves rather than truly resolve the issues. In my opinion, they are fully aware that there is a significant fault with this car and have known this from the moment it was sold. This belief is reinforced by them stating that the staff member responsible for carrying out crucial safety checks on this vehicle has since lost his job. While this is concerning— if anything, it raises even more questions about how this car ever passed inspection and why it was sold in the first place. I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before buying from Bridgend Ford.

Zero car knowledge

Went too view a second hand car with my daughter sales team couldnt tell me if the car i was viewing fiat 500 has had a timming belt they just said if it needed doing it would of been done !!! So has it been done ??? I dont know then try selling her a warrantee which covers a timming belt absolute shambles from a big main dealer !!!! Car 8 years old 62000 miles belt very important

Ford hand over in bridgend

Popped in to pick up my new Ford Explorer. A very lovely lady named Harriet did our hand over.
Harriet went through everything, step by step and was not phased by the load of questions me and my partner had. We where nice and warm in the car, while Harriet was outside in the cold explaining the cars features. Thank you so much for making our day Harriet. You were amazing.

Absolute joke , can’t believe they call themselves Ford Main Dealer

Not a main dealer at all , bought a Kuga from them and got delivered dirty ,the charging cables got delivered a week later after I complained to the managers (they ordered cables but somehow I got second hand cables that didn’t even get a wipe down) all the stuff the salesman said he’ll get sorted got forgotten and said that my expectections were to high . The car was really expensive with all the defects ( scratches all over , scratched windows , cracked bumper , hole in the leather seat and quite dirty . I even had to wipe the wipers because they were mouldy ) and Dean said it’s not fair on other customers to reduce the price but will get everything sorted but the hole in the seat and after 4 days of waiting for the car to be prepped it got delivered without even being touched . I had to pay for it to be machine polished , cleaned and the hole in the seat repaired and they gave me£30 towards it . Absolute joke of dealership and it’s a shame that Dean is meant to be a quite high up person and you think he would be much better but no , I would never ever buy a car from here again and I would not advise anybody to do so , GO to Motorpoint , DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS WE DID

A good experience

As with the purchase of my previous car from Bridgend Ford, I had a good experience with my recent purchase. The professional and knowledgeable input of Tom Drew and Kameron Bibey made the process of part exchange and purchase straightforward. I also appreciated receiving two follow-up calls after collecting my car.

Nice place to buy used

No pressure, no sales pitch.
I was given plenty of time to look over vehicles, allowed to take them off for a proper substantial test drive etc.

Great experience and very helpful staff.

Great experience. Bought a used Ford Focus last week and the whole process was great, the support from the staff made the whole buying process less daunting.
Tom has been great and very knowledgeable, from buying the car to then dropping it off a week later for the DiamondBrite work to be carried out. He kept me updated and also answered some questions around using certain features of the car.

Sales staff were thorough.

Sales staff were clear thorough and helpful during and after the sale. My only criticism is that we had initially accepted one warranty option but when came to finalise, our preferred warranty option had been recinded leaving us having to accept our 2nd choice option.

Brendan Drake Great, Rest of Team Not so Much

Brendan Drake was great to deal with from start to finish with the purchase of my PUMA ST Line. Had made enquiry via internet/phone from Bournemouth as had found the car of my dreams. Brendan was very thorough, helpful and professional guiding me through the process and waiting behind when we arrived after a 4.5 drive late on the Friday to see/hopefully purchase (and we did) and take the car. It would have been a 5 Star response, however quite honestly did not find the experience with the rest of the Ford team as good. Felt like we were just a number and the next day when we went to collect the car, Brendan wasn't there (we knew that). It felt like a case of - you have bought the car now we don't really matter, take the keys and go. Disappointingly the car could have been cleaned properly - to be told they don't have people there on a weekend (this was a Saturday) that can give a car that someone has spent a substantial amount of money on a good clean inside and out was quite surprising. Also, had to pay for a tiny bit of paint that we wanted to take to touch up a few little marks that were on it. After spending over £18K you would think they would throw that in for free! (paint is the size of a pen!). Very happy with the car though, and have no regrets. Just suggest a few changes in their customer service team attitude.

Absolutely terrible customer service…

Absolutely terrible customer service when dropping your car off to have work done , give a price over the phone when booking to which I agreed on , when I get there to drop car off they give a completely different price to job want I discussed over the phone , then waited over an hour for them to work out a price again to which I already spoke about over the phone while booking the price than doubled , neither of the booking person (Luke) or the mechanic understood what I was taking about when I asked about cambelt seal are just round rubber seals at the side of engine to which they need to be in that area to change water pump and timing belt , on my mk2 focus st , so make sure u don’t get ripped off by them or do what I did and go else where .
U can’t even trust the dealers to your loved cars so who do u trust
