We entered the hotel cold and tried and went to the reception desk to check into our room. I booked via a tour operator and I choose an economy room. A good 5 star hotel, would have, I hoped, a decent economy room. We didn't expect to spend much time in the room, sight seeing and all. I should have read the signs when the hotel receptionist kept reminding me it was booked with a tour operator and economy. He said it 4 times at least. Upon opening the door to the room my heart dropped like a stone to the bottom of a deep lake. I was and still am annoyed, disgusted, and angered with what we received. I left another review with the operator. But I though, this,... this was also the hotel's doing as well. The room had old chipped furniture on an old worn carpet. It was so tired looking a room it felt no one had used it in years. And to top it all it was freezing. I complained and received extra quilts for my troubles. It was room 132. All rooms in a 5 star should be of a 5 star standard. The buffet breakfast food was without doubt good in this hotel. But our room was very sad. What was to be a nice long weekend, and we don't get much breaks because of money/family/work commitments was spoiled for us. We didn't look forward to returning to that room after a long day out. If I could show a photo of it here I would. Bristol Hotel you let me and my fiance down.
