The course felt like it was tailored…
The course felt like it was tailored for me. It met me exactly where was, then made me ask myself the question where I wanted to go, and gave me the support I needed. It all happened on a seemingly natural way, despite the stress. I only realised I had completed the course after I had already completed it.

It did not feel like an online only experience
All the people I have been in touch with at the British College of Journalism were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making my journey to become a journalist a success. My tutor provided honest, constructive and encouraging feedback. She took care to add a personal touch with references to similar experiences. For questions about coursework submission, deadlines etc. the admin staff was very helpful. Adjusting to the student's needs within reason and proactively offering supportive wiggle room really helped with focussing on my development. It simply did not feel like an online only experience. I recommend you try it out.

Fun and Flexible Journalism Course.
I found this journalism course fun and flexible. Judy was my mentor and I found her feedbacks constructive. The admin team was very helpful as I continued the course after a long break. There was an extra fee of 100 pounds of course, but it was worth it.

A practical, realistic course.
Interesting course with lots of practical, useful and supportive information. Very realistic approach and I liked the honesty - didn’t try to pretend that earning a living as a freelance journalist was an easy thing to do but also gave plenty of encouragement. Assignments returned very quickly with helpful feedback. Any general queries promptly and efficiently answered. Enjoyed the course - many thanks to all involved.

The course is very insightful, it teaches the world of freelance journalism with a very comprehensive approach, helping the student wade through the complex reality of the editorial world. The writing skills the course teaches are also happily useful and to the point.

Exactly what I was looking for!
Due to health reasons I’ve been contemplating writing as a change of career for a while. This course gave me the tools to be able to take a professional approach to that and avoid many rookie pitfalls.
My tutor was great with her constructive feedback and I always received a prompt response with any queries. The flexibility was also a must for me (again for health reasons) and it’s really helped me to mould my style of writing from quaintly entertaining on social media, to something I might actually be able to pay bills with!
In fact I had my first article published in local magazine about a week before I received my diploma.
So a big thank you to Judy and the rest of the team.

The experience was really good
The experience was really good. The material is fantastic and is always really good to refer back to. Feedback was very prompt after having submitted every assignment. They were also quick to respond every time I had any queries. Would definitely try out another of their courses.

An Invaluable Experience
Firstly, please excuse me for this very belated review, Judy & co!
I signed up to the course in July of 2021, with some hesitancy and ambiguity at where my future was going to take me. I had just finished a two-year sports course at a local college at the time, and I knew that was not going to be a viable option for me.
I took a long hiatus from education to consider what possible routes to go down next, after some time considering my options; I chanced upon the course offered by the BCJ. I have to say that without hesitation I’m so much more aware of my literary talents thanks to the BCJ, I was lucky enough to get an article published among other accomplishments. While it’s still taking me some time to define what exactly my niche market/markets are; I’m so much more knowledgeable about what it takes to be a success in the freelance writing industry.
You have enabled me to be taken seriously, and more importantly given me a break in a field I have a lot of interest and passion for.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.

Great course and excellent support
I thoroughly enjoyed this course and the support from the team was amazing. I had to prolong the course due to a personal situation and they were very helpful and understanding. The feedback from Judy was always easy to understand and always within a couple of days of submitting my assignments.
