British Fires offer the most realistic ‘wood burning’ effect of any of the many electric fires we looked at. We chose the New Forest 650 square model which fitted our fireplace and recommend. British Fires were also very helpful in quickly responding to and resolving a problem we raised with the company.

Phil has been absolutely first class today. A small issue with my fire. He turned up on time, was charming and so professional. Took the time to thoroughly check the fire, even gave it a clean for me. He also gave me a tutorial on all the settings to get the most from the fire. Blown away by the customer service, a rare things these days.

I've just had mine installed and it's brilliant. I can't describe how realistic it is, and it just transforms the room.
There is a slight hum with the heater on, but this is a lot less that I expected. It's great for taking the chill off and, looking at my smart meter, is going to be very reasonable to run this feature.

I bought and installed the Brokenhurst 870 suite electric fire. The installation instructions weren’t brilliant but after reading through several times I got there.
I’m really pleased with the fire and although expensive (£2500) it really looks quality.
The remote control is easy to use and the heater function works well.
I’m very pleased with the whole package.

Bought a New Forest 1200 in September 2024. Over the moon with the fire. Experienced a noise one evening but it was never repeated. Reported it to BF just to cover myself incase of a repeat. They insisted on coming out to check the fire over and replace a couple of components just incase. Phil even gave the fire a good clean while reassembling. Fantastic service! Highly recommend!! 👍

From the very word go and the first visit to their impressive showroom in Christchurch the customer service from James Hammond has been nothing short of exceptional. The products are amazing and cannot wait for our New Forest 1600 de lux log fire to be installed. Going to be such a feature in our Garden Room. I am a perfectionist and the reality of the fire blows my mind!

We recently bought a New Forest 650sq fire and it is STUNNING. Everyone who sees it is amazed with it. You'd never believe it's electric. It's absolutely beautiful. Even with no heat but just the light on it gives such a lovely impression of warmth. It looks really nice even when it's not on, but when it is, there is no other word for it but STUNNING.

Bought a Bramshaw wall mounted fireplace for the basement. It looks GREAT and we are very pleased with the flame pattern. However, we also bought it to warm up an area of the basement where we sit to watch television. It is very noisy and the amount of heat we get from it is less than expected.

We recently purchased a British Fires New Forest 1600 electric fire that looks very realistic and features wood based logs.
It had a minor squeak which was down to a slightly mis-aligned motor assembly. This problem was resolved by a very enthusiastic service engineer quickly, with the minimum of fuss.
