A fabulous practical programme with a super skilled and experienced facilitator

John was excellent at explaining everything in small steps, through the INWA ten step Nordic walking course. John made the whole course fun and enjoyable to do. Time went so quick, through the two day course.
I would highly reccomend to anyone interested in doing this spacific course on Nordic walking.

I did the course in Perth and the park we used gave us flat areas to practice as well as a small hill to go up and down. The walk from the Salutation Hotel where the indoor training took place was a lovely one next to the river. It was a really friendly course with lots of time to practice before the actual assessment. Our trainer Eilidh Paterson was so good, she gave clear instructions that were easy to follow and had lots of great advice and tips and her feedback was really informative.

Karen, our trainer for the weekend, was as professional as they come. Her enthusiasm for Nordic walking was contagious, her training methods excellent. I learned so much in this fast paced course and feel ready to put all of that into action. Angela

Just completed my 2 day Nordic Walking Instructor training. The trainer ,Karen, was amazing! She gave so much in terms of demonstration of the walking steps, practical information for setting up and coaching to improve my walking technique. She had boundless energy and enthusiasm for NW and was a great ambassador. I really enjoyed working with a small group and practise my teaching skills. The 2 days were totally packed, really good balance of practice and theory. Looking forward to putting my skills into practice!

Post Prostatectomy February 2022 I found walking tremendously helped my recovery. While always being an active sport enthusiast, I’d walked the Nordic way while holidaying abroad and more recently my local park in Leeds. Post op, Health Professionals had advised of the benefits of walking.
Armed with that advice, gradually walking combined with pelvic exercises soon strengthened and healed the side effects of my prostatectomy.
Self taught I’d read numerous benefits of Nordic Walking and felt technically I wanted to learn more.
I enrolled onto an instructors course with British Nordic Walking. Attended by seven other instructors to be, the course delivered what I was seeking. From poles to method in technical detail. Instructed professionally by dedicated BNW instructors we not only learnt to breakdown the 10 steps of Nordic Walking we covered all aspects of leading and teaching Nordic Walking ensuring our audience would be safe whatever the weather wherever the location.
Invigorated I’m now in a position to help others.

Having just completed my 2 day instructor training course, I feel excited to begin my Nordic walking instructor journey.

The trainer presented clearly and kept the 2 days very engaging. With a mixture of classroom and practice outdoor practice the days flew by as they were so engaging and enjoyable.
The class size was just right.
There was lots of useful information and tips shared and space given for all our questions.

A full on two day course with lots to cover to become an instructor. Vicky was a great teacher, the course was well structured, a mix of classroom and practical.
I feel well equipped going forward and have the support from the Facebook group and other meetings happening.

British nordic walking are a great organisation to be part of. They train instructors to the highest standard and support us in delivering nordic walking sessions nationwide. The heart of BNW is community-based and not-for-profit and they have formed strong partnerships with other organisations supporting people with long term health issues. I’m proud to be a BNW Instructor and would recommend anyone to train with us or join us for regular outdoor fitness.

Catherine was clearly an expert trainer as well as an expert in the subject matter.
