Dear Alexandra,
I take this opportunity to publicly express that we regret not meeting your expectations. However, as explained extensively both over the phone and through exchanged messages, this was not possible due to the difference between what you imagined and what we offer: a restored rural house located on a “Herdade” in Alentejo.
I regret that the only thing that brought you to us was a pool! And that you imagined a glamorous exclusive pool. We are a rural space and our prices are compatible with what we offer. I reiterate, as I did in our conversations, that all the information is in the complete digital guide of the estate which I sent you for consultation on November 11th (including a link to a Google Earth page where the estate’s facilities – pool and Casa da Alcaria included are marked), In fact, I noticed that it was the information contained in the guide that you used to generously make the map highlighting the points you consider relevant in your review. I appreciate your help and we will consider your suggestion and prepare an informative photo/scheme to add to the images available on our Booking page.
Regarding the unresolved issue you mentioned, for which you say the owner did not contribute, I simply confirmed that the people at the pool had permission to be there, and that it was not a pool intended only for guests of Casa da Alcaria, as per the information in the guide. I emphasize that it was not a party, just half a dozen calm people, in a pool of about 450m². Of course, I ignored the comments you made about how the owners should be able to use the pool and their right to receive their guests there, explaining politely that these were points of view not worth discussing. In any case, to avoid other visits from people who think like you, I will revise our communication on this aspect.
I find it strange that you start this comment by referring to a construction site, once again near the pool. The ongoing works are related to the restoration of the old agricultural house on the estate. In any case, in our exchange of messages, the existence of the construction was never presented as a problem! It seemed to me, but maybe I misunderstood, that the problem for the celebration you two wanted to have at the pool was related to the people who were there and not the fact that there was a house under construction behind.
I am sorry that you did not find in the privacy of Casa da Alcaria, which was exclusively reserved for you, the environment conducive to the desired celebration. But I also do not feel responsible for its failure. We offered you what we propose to offer all our guests, regardless of what brings them to visit us: tranquillity, landscape, and comfort in a rural space.
I wish you much happiness in your marriage.
Sincerely, Isabel
