Poor communications, slow to dispatch orders and uninterested that their site doesn't create accounts properly which would allow some interaction with their customers. Just not interested.

I was given this product as a Christmas present. I read the instructions that came with it before using it, but they were not very clear, so I looked at the manufacturer's website where there was a video explaining how to use it. I watched this video and used the machine as was directed in it. In particular, the video instructs the user to loosen the part of the machine that holds the mincing plate in a quarter of a turn after attaching it, which I was careful to do. However, when the machine was in use and despite my best efforts, this part seemed to tighten and loosen by itself due to vibrations from the motor. On the 6th of January, which if I remember right was only the third time it had been used, both the cap that holds the mincing plate on and the auger inside the mincer broke, rendering it unusable. I immediately emailed the company explaining that I had followed the instructions and what had happened and asked for a refund as I was not happy with the quality of the product. They arranged to collect it. A month later, on the 18th of February, they emailed back claiming I must have overtightened it and that was what caused it to break, and that they would not honour their warranty, and if I wanted it back I would have to pay for them to repair it. I explained again that I had not overtightened it and had taken care to follow the instructions on the video on their website, and asked again for a refund of the purchase price. This email was ignored until I chased it up again in March, and they again refused to honour their warranty. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, an item such as this machine should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. In my opinion it is neither of these things, but unfortunately as it was bought as a gift and the person who bought it doesn't want to be involved, I can't make a claim in the small claims court. They have not even sent the broken machine back after they decided to refuse to honour their warranty. I would advise anyone to steer well clear of anything sold by this 'Butchers Sundries' company and any related companies -- according to their email signatures the parent company is called 'The TruNet Group' or 'TruNet UK' and has another subsidiary called 'sausage kings'.
