Hey Brian,
Thanks so much for leaving a review, even though it's not a great one.

After checking our records, I don't see that you have ever made a purchase. Additionally, there isn't a single customer out of the millions of dollars of revenue we have facilitated, who did not receive a refund if their order was not shipped or returned.

If this happened to you, we'd love for you to reach out to support@buyr.com and we'll get it taken care of immediately, because any shopper losing their money without having their order delivered is absolutely unacceptable - from us, or anyone else on the internet.

Hopefully we have the opportunity to earn back your business in the future, people that submit a price and get a match love shopping with us, and we always take care of them.

Hey Crazy Kitties!
We want to apologize that your recent purchase did not live up to your expectations, and assure you we take this feedback super seriously as a small startup.

Unfortunately, it is an error with our inventory system. Trust me, the fact that it still shows it as available is super frustrating for both of us, but we are working to correct the issue asap.

Without getting too technical, we basically started to grow much faster than we anticipated, and an issue we knew we would have to solve (eventually) related to inventory sync became a problem much sooner. Now, that module is totally overwhelmed with inventory updates and it’s not syncing anything! What a nightmare.

I really apologize for the inconvenience here, we are working our butts off to get the issue corrected and will let you know when that happens!

We appreciate your patience, looking forward to helping you unlock a deal in the future :)

With that being said, after looking into your account, it looks like your email address is missing the first letter of your name in your profile, so this typo could have contributed to part of the issue.

We have not seen any errors on our end, nor had any other customer complaints, but we would love to get to the bottom of this.

If you can email orders@buyr.com, and share the device you are using (mobile/desktop) and browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.), we will troubleshoot this right away.

As a startup, making sure people can use our technology is at the very top of our priority list, so hopefully we can resolve this and we can get you to remove this poor review.

We have confirmed that customer service has reached out to you, so hopefully your issue has been resolved.

I can assure that we absolutely do not use any predatory practices, and our number one goal is to help people get awesome deals on products they wouldn't be able to get anywhere else.

As a small startup, we do run into issues, and sometimes they do take us longer to resolve than we would like. I can assure you we are working our butts off to correct this issue, and continue working on our larger goal of transforming the way people shop online.

I do see that you received a response to your customer service email in under four hours, which is much faster than the industry standard. We are always trying to improve the customer experience though, and will look at what else we can do to speed up response time.

Hey Ernestine,
I know this reply is delayed, but we wanted to close the loop and make sure we made sure your concerns were addressed.

As a startup, we have experienced some significant growing pains we didn't anticipate, and have not lived up to customer expectations – we take this extremely seriously and are doing everything we can to improve.

Cancelling an order is never something we want to do, but we have tried to set up the system as favorably as we can, but things (especially payments) are not always perfect.

We actually don't capture any funds until a product is shipped, we simply pre-authorize a transaction (much like many gas stations will do at the pump). When an order is cancelled, that pre-authorization is removed, and the funds are available immediately, since we never actually captured them.

Here is how Stripe, our payment processor, describes it:

“In the case of a reversal your customer won’t see a refund credit on their statement—they’ll just see the original authorization drop off their statement entirely after a few days.
There will be no payment, and no refund. It’ll appear as if the whole transaction never happened. Their bank should be able to confirm this for them.”

I know this is less than ideal, and we still didn't meet expectations, but wanted to let you know we are working as hard as we can to implement changes based on feedback from our customers, and be a better company tomorrow than we are today.

Creating something from scratch is never easy, but we are encouraged by th progress we have made and are hopeful we may be able to earn your business again in the future.

Hey Adam,
I know it has been a while, but we wanted to follow up here and apologize, as well as clarify a few points.

First, we really apologize your order was cancelled. This is obviously a really poor experience and doesn't live up to the standards we hold ourselves to, so I'm sorry.

The way our system works, we actually never charged your credit card, simply pre-authorized the transaction (much like a gas station might do). As soon as your order was cancelled, that pre-authorization was removed immediately, and the transaction should have simply disappeared. Not ideal by any means when an order is cancelled, but we hope this setup eliminates the time customers need to wait for a refund, in the rare event an order is cancelled.

We appreciate your feedback about the "Guaranteed" label on the customer interface. This label is actually referring to the price of the product, and how some price points are guaranteed to be matched, where lower price points are not always guaranteed, but we try to make it so we unlock the best deals possible for our customers. We will look into revising this label, in case it's misleading.

We really apologize for the inconvenience here. As a startup, there are always growing pains, but disappointing customers is by far the worst part of them.

We are working hard to improve and are hopeful we can earn your business at some point in the future!

Most of our orders ship out within 48 hours of being purchased, which is why your delivery estimate showed 11/23, instead of 11/29. As you may be aware, UPS and USPS are still facing unprecedented challenges and delays. This has only been worsened by the holiday shopping craze, but we'll keep striving for lightning fast delivery and clear communication with our customers.
