I used to be a pro CAA person - I used to recommend them all of the time. NOT NOW, NOT EVER AGAIN! I had an unbelievably bad experience with CAA. Far too long to tell the entire tale here as this experience lasted almost 5 hours. I was lied to, I was denied service, I was hung up on, and the first tow truck driver even drove off and honestly the list goes on and on.
I have a number of connections in the automotive industry. It is my understanding that honest and legitimate towing companies that been working with CAA for many years will no longer work with them. That speaks volumes to me.
I AM CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP

I was looking online for prices on cruises when I saw that CAA advertised some special rates/perks with specific cruise lines. I called the CAA 1-855 number and after being given some information I asked for an email address. I sent an email with further questions and got no response. So Iwent into a store location to enquire about the cruise deals mentioned on the CAA website. The website specifically states that you can walk-in to a store OR make an appointment. But I was told in store that an appointment was necessary. Even though there was almost no one else in the store. I left and later called the 1-855 number again and asked for a quote. The price was exactly the same as the price on the Cruise line's website. No special rate and no complimentary drinks/wi-fi as are mentioned on the CAA website.

The people I talked to were nice but completely unhelpful and the claims on the CAA website feel like false advertising.

DISAPPOINTED

This is the most disappointing company. We required roadside assistance today…

We required roadside assistance today and were rescued by a very efficient young man who skillfully loaded our car onto his tow truck very carefully and delivered us to a garage for repairs. Every action required was carried out with expertise and care. While we were initially told it could take 3 hours for assistance to arrive, to our relief this gentleman arrived, loaded our vehicle and took us to our destination in two. Very happy with the service.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! Plan to spend 45 minutes on the phone just to get to speak with an agent. Every year I have to reactivate the insurance on my summer car. Same car, same policy. No changes. This year I was happy to see they were offering a "Policy Change Form" that you could fill out online and THEY will call you back. Great idea! I took the time to fill out the form and I received an e-mail acknowledging receipt of the form with a request to call in and speak to an agent. What was the purpose of the form if I end of calling in again and being put on hold for over 41 minutes!

Best Flatbed driver!!

We had the best customer service!!
Sina was the driver and he was really good with us.
We were stuck on the highway, they came right away.
Sina was quick and efficient hooking up my car.
We got home safe and sound.

PAIN IN BUTT
Stupid f......g service offered me to tow my car to scarp yard.
When we sign up membership they dont tell you 100 rules. When it comes to take their real time service so many rules policies comes to play.
So either add scarp yard tow service into ur list or cancel your CAA company. If you are not helpful in this so called stress world what is the point of having.
Natalie supervisor (don't know anything) called my towing address to verify whether there is mechanic available or not. Why the hell you called in first place. Did I hire you to do so, NO right. Simply I gave you an address to tow so do your Damm job.
So how can you tow to the garage or scarp yard then?
When this situation comes to you Tracy and Natalie then you will realize how much you guys gave me pain today.
I prefer some of the big person like vice president or Manager from CAA give me a call after reading my reviews.
Its not only me my other 2 friends recently freaked out due to the inability of CAA. If there was a minus star in rating, I would've LOVED to give that.
By arguing on phone you are making a crime by tempting customers to lie, becoz if I don't use scarp word then you would have tow my car, it means next time we have to make fake stories. Don't worry Natalie and Tracy and other girl in my first call you all going to face these kind of situations very soon in y our lives. This is my curse. Trust me. Already I pissed with my car buying, dealing ,hunting for other car. On top CAA playing around wow good job. Good job 👏

I called customer service to cancel the renewal of my father’s service as he had passed away. As I paid for the service, I thought it would be an easy task. They told me that I would need a death certificate and the executor contact them. As my credit card was, it was paying it. I was just asking to cancel it and refund the cost charged on my credit card. They told me I would have to email them to have it canceled. I sent an email got an automatic reply. The email statement it would be 10 to 15 days before I would get a response. I have also contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. I removed my credit card from the account to prevent more charges. I guess I need to wait 10 to 15 days because they are too busy to answer an email.
I would say that customer service is beyond poor to take that long to respond to someone. I even offered to switch the account to my name. This also cannot be done.

Ryan @ Elite towing was skilled

Ryan @ Elite towing was skilled, knowledgeable and went the extra mile to pull my car out of the snowbank.

My car slid into a snowbank and was stuck on a rock in the snow.
Ryan came within 30 minutes, quickly and efficiently assessed the situation, and towed my car out of a tricky situation with no issues.
He was also friendly and caring. It was a relief and a pleasure to have Ryan save the day getting me back on the road. Thank you Ryan, Elite Towing and CAA

Towing services

A few months ago in November I had a vehicle with no insurance but plated being restored and they would not tow it, ok fine understand that, so today the same vehicle was totally restored , plated and insured . I called CAA yesterday to ask them before I dispatched them the next , if they will tow the vehicle if my son was present, as I was not available and she said yes as long as my son was present, and it was plated and insured. So I called today and they ruined my plans, because now a different person said the cardholder , me, needed to be present. Get your act together please, you allneed yo sing the same song, I have been a member for over 20 years and I get the shit end of the stick. Considering canceling my CAA, it's useless and a waste of money.

They won't tow with your membership, but will for cash

I paid for a whole year. Needed a tow to my dealership. The tow truck company that they sent asked for the ownership and insurance. I showed them the ownership and the insurance slip I had was the expired one, but the policy is the same. They refused to tow my vehicle, but then the tow truck driver said that I can pay him $300 cash and he will do it. What was the purpose of getting the service to not get the service and then the same tow truck driver offered to do the job if I paid cash. I complained and CAA only offered me $15 off my next membership. The amount was a joke and what good is $15 off when they won't honor the service.

Stay away. Im going to be getting Canadian Tire Gold Membership.

Stay away from CAA, not the same anymore and the service and customer service is non existent.

Terrible customer service and terrible attention.

Don't waste your money on any of these CAA memberships, and don't buy a battery with insurance from them.

They'll promise you the moon, but when it comes to making a battery warranty claim, they'll overcharge you for the service, inspection, etc.

And don't even get me started on how rushed and unhelpful they are when you call.

I had a guy come to do a battery start-up service, and when I asked him what was wrong, he just answered rudely and left as quickly as possible.

Stay Clear!

We purchased a new vehicle in 2025 and free roadside assistance for 3 years. I explained to the agent we have home and auto insurance coverage with you but don't require roadside assistance. I was then told in order to stay current and save $ on my insurance coverage I needed to purchase annual membership. So I fell for their threats and two days later received my insurance for 2026 and rates went up over $300. Glad I stayed current with my membership and then another $300+ increase...CROOKS!

Nasty Attitude

I called CAA to get a membership card I have been a member since 2003 and then added my daughter in 2013 . Anyway she misplaced her card and I wanted to replace it . When I called , I finally got on line with a woman and explained the situation . She asked my address . In a very hostile manner , she stated that was not the address on file . I told her that the bills do arrive at home and I do pay for them .She asked for my name and email address about 3 times , with a lot sighing and aggressive questioning . Throughout the “ interviewing “she was very impatient when I was responding to her questions and seemed to want to give me hard time . I am really upset with the treatment and attitude I got from this customer service person . Totally disappointed with CAA

THIS IS NOT A RELIABLE CANADIAN COMPANY ANY MORE!

When did this company change hands??? They don't deserve any stars - as many reviewers have indicated! This used to be an extremely reliable Canadian company - BUT no longer!!! My truck had transmission problems and I called CAA. Spoke to someone whose command of the English language was negligible. Although, I told her numerous times where I was, it was obvious she didn't understand. From 3:30 p.m. until after 6:15 p.m., I received text messages advising a truck would be arriving in 15 min., then 20 min. later, then 40 min. later, etc., etc. Finally the last text at 5:58. By 6:15 - still no truck. When he arrived, he wasn't overly friendly, broken English and a hacking cough - NO MASK!!!! If CAA had been honest and advised me that it was going to take so long, my son would have picked me up instead of my having to sit on the side of the road!!! Membership is due next month......DEFINITELY NOT RENEWING!!!

CAA did not respond to the tow truck request.

Last Thursday I was involved in a car accident in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. After completing the usual formalities, I requested towing service through CAA, as I am a member.

After approximately two and a half hours of waiting, and at the request of the police officer who attended the incident, we contacted CAA again. The officer, who was very polite and professional, explained that after such a long time I should arrange for the vehicle to be removed so the road could be cleared.

When we contacted CAA again, I was informed that there was still no tow truck available. Because of this delay, I had no choice but to hire the services of another towing company.

I would like to register my dissatisfaction and disappointment with the quality and responsiveness of the service provided by CAA in this situation.

Was stuck just off my driveway CAA said…

Was stuck just off my driveway CAA said about an hour. 2 hours later I called the again. Apparently the tow truck driver wouldn’t drive in because there was about 2 inches of snow in the driveway. There were tire tracks from friends car that had just left & Andy’s Towing in Uxbridge had no trouble getting me out. NOBODY from CAA ever called to tell me they weren’t coming & they considered it a used call. I will never use CAA again, useless service.
