Never Again
Oh my. Where to start? It began with a series of miscommunications and ended with the most disappointingly bad coffee I’ve had in a long long time.
I began by asking what are you pouring for your drip coffee? My brain could not process her answer because it made no sense. So, I tried again: what coffee are you pouring for your drip? She said you want milk? HUH?? I tried once more: what type of coffee are you using for your drip coffee? Finally, she said “colombe” (whatever that is - Colombian?)
I was hesitant to get into a more involved conversation so I just asked for an Americano “with room.” I like my coffee on the stronger side. So I pay and wait for my coffee. And I wait. I see both baristas filling stuff up, putting things away, etc. Getting a little annoyed TBH. I finally get my coffee and as I walk away from the counter I take a sip of my coffee. It’s barely lukewarm. I go back to the counter and tell them it’s not hot. They look at me like I’m crazy and say, yeah it’s room temperature. WTF?! I said I wanted ROOM not room temperature. So they make me a fresh Americano. Here’s the piece de resistance (sorry for the lack of accent marks), THE COFFEE SUCKED! It tasted like coffee you would buy at the market. When I got home and poured it into a mug, I could see through it. Weak weak weak.
I don’t normally write such a detailed review but this was a Twilight Zone experience. In retrospect it seemed like no one - from the owner on down had any experience with high end coffee.
