Canto is a great media data asset management platform that helps us to organize and categorize a wide bunch of images, videos, and other documents of our company. Many of the functions are very helpful, e.g. the searchability and customizing collections of assets to share it with our partners and TPAs is really valuable!

Two Thumbs up for Canto!
My favorite thing about Canto is it's ease of use. It reminds me of iTunes a bit, there are several ways to search for assets which make it very easy for users to locate assets. I come from a background of keywords and tags and appreciate the way it is laid out in Canto and as an administrator I also love the reporting aspect, specifically the metadata activity metrics. Another huge plus is the external connections you can link to upload from Dropbox and Google Drive.

Finally their implementation team and account support is top notch. They followed through with anything we asked of them and made sure we were well trained and ready to train others. We continue to have monthly meetings with them and I learn something new every time that makes me more impressed with Canto. I highly recommend!

I really don't have a whole lot to complain about. I would just recommend that before your team is ready to upload from an external connection into Canto, make sure you do some up front work in your existing file structure. It makes the upload much easier, it's hard to change the file structure once assets are uploaded into Canto but there are workarounds.

Canto's DAM has helped us get our assets into a central and easily accessible location. No more worrying about what happens if a hard drive is lost!

It’s no exaggeration to say that Canto is My Hero right now! We finished migrating our assets and started using Canto just a few weeks before our US team was ordered to work from home due to the Coronavirus (our international team has already gone through this). I don’t think we would have all been able to keep working with the product we were using before. With Canto, our domestic and international teams can work together seamlessly from anywhere. And those of us with access to domestic servers can continue to load new assets that were previously unavailable to our design team overseas. As a provider for the agriculture supply chain we are considered an “essential business” and this is becoming a very busy time for us. I’m grateful we’ve been able to get up and running so quickly, and that Canto is so easy to use that the learning curve is almost nonexistent.

The best thing about Canto is that it just works exactly the way you expect it to. Even before I went through the official training, I found it super intuitive -- easy to upload files, easy to find them again, easy to use them with a huge range of design tools (we mostly use it with Adobe Creative Suite). Version control is going to be very helpful for us. I’m also stoked that it’s so easy to customize for our workflow. And the customer service we’ve experienced so far has also been top notch -- friendly, knowledgeable, and FAST.

We love you Canto!

We use Canto to manage most of our digital assets. It is a great timesaver. Having all our corporate assets in one place at my finger tips makes my projects flow much more smoothly.

I no longer have to chase people down for what I need. Also, now that we have Canto, most stake holders in the company have access to our digital assets. I no longer need to spend time gathering files for others.

We've been Canto customers for almost a year. The shining star of the entire show is the Customer Service. A++++
My only difficulty has been struggling - as a one-person shop - with uploading image files with our weak broadband capacity. We have tested it on a select group of clients but our full launch has been stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SO our issues are internal ones and have nothing to do with this great tool.

Canto was not the most powerful, technically advanced, or the most feature-rich, but for someone starting out in using a DAM for the first time it's a brilliant solution - has a very strong feature set for first timers, a very intuitive and easy-to-use interface, some very powerful technical integrations, responsive support, excellent tagging / sharing / user management capabilities... but the real killer are 1) how fast and easy it is to get set up and running, and a very competitive (and customizable) price tag for the level of features offered. Add a robust product roadmap and evolving capabilities and very scalable expansion options once you're up and running, I would highly recommend this.

Canto is a strong option for a marketing team's DAM, built on client feedback and with ongoing improvements. The customer service has been excellent, and the Canto team is fantastic to work with. The software itself allows for a large amount of customization and is relatively simple for the end user.

What i like the most:
- User administrating
- Statistics about the data (now we can also use different pictures in the whole company and see directly which one we use the most)
- Sharing function for the press, doctors and employees
- Cropping function
- different versions of the data
- folder upload of data

What I dislike:
-missing cms function (f.e. typo3) for a directly connecting. You need a extra licence for it

General information:
We have nearly 20.000 pictures and other data in the company (5.400 employees, >20 sub companies) we need to administrate and share. Canto helps us a lot to organize the whole process in the headquartner. Now we have time for other things.

Canto is a robust asset management platform. It helps us organize and categorize our massive library of images, video, and other documents pertaining to our brand. The ability to search and create custom collections of assets to share with our partners and vendors is really valuable.

I was looking for a photo editor that could be used by all of our employees when I stumbled upon Canto. I had never even heard of Digital Asset Management (DAM) but once I read up on it I realized I could solve much bigger issues than just photo editing. I own an architectural firm and keeping important records safe and out of the wrong hands has been something we have been struggling with for decades. DAM solves it all and there is no better product in my opinion than Canto.

The amount of control we have over every aspect of every single document is uncanny. And as good as this product is, Canto is best when it comes to customer integration, training and support. They work with you one on one to the point you forget you found them online. And the continual updating of their product is simply amazing. New upgrades are coming out about every 3 months complete with a webinar explaining all the new features.

I can't say enough about how impressed I am with Canto - the product and the company culture.

Overall we love Canto as an organization. It makes my job so much easier than if I just had to search through hard drives and remember where everything was like I used to. I Love the ability to keyword and tag all of our photography, then search through thousands of photos quickly and easily. Also the ability to select a few photos and make a link to just those photos that I can send to people is something I use almost every day. The new facial recognition also works well too.

Canto has been a great tool to help us manage all of our digital assets and allow for ease of access to assets across departments.

Positives:
The ease with which metadata tagging can be accomplished is likely the greatest strength for our use of this product. We've managed to create a keyword/tag database that now allows us to navigate our full media catalog with ease, and has made our workflow infinitely more streamlined. The branding guideline and adobe integration is definitely an additional benefit we're looking to utilize to its fullest shortly.

Negatives:
We operate in a segment with non-standard products so, unfortunately, we can't use the "smart tagging" system to its full potential.However, for tagging the "minutia" (As we call it) within the photo, but not necessarily the focus, the smart tagging system is great.

Summary:
We've had a very positive experience with the platform overall. We're nearly 4 months into our subscription and still feel like we're at the tip of the iceberg. We're anxious to utilize the client portal feature and have our install teams remotely uploading images from our work sites to be curated and cataloged.

Why Did We Initially Choose Canto:
Price and functionality. The adobe integration was also key. On top of this, our customer service experience while dealing with Canto during the shopping phase was far superior

Our marketing team rolled out Canto earlier this year and it's been a big help. Before moving to Canto our documents and product pictures were all located on a shared google drive. It worked while the team was small but as we've grown and added a lot of content it became unwieldy. Since implementing Canto the sales team is using a lot more of the content that marketing produces and relevant product pictures are significantly easier to find.

Canto has really streamlined our process, and it has allowed us to MUCH more easily share things with our team across the state. The start-up process was rough and a bit confusing, but we have been able to really jump into using the system more as we understand it.

The support team rolling out updates and creating a better product over time is amazing. It makes me confident that the product can only get better!

I think this is the bast DAM I have ever used. Works great. A little bit of a pain having to login all the time though.

Myself and two colleagues all moved from one company to another. We liked working in Canto so much that we implemented it at our new company. So far, it's been very well received by everyone who's using it.

Using Canto is like being upgraded to the "adult" table at family meals - more sophistication, much more pleasant, and everything just looks better.

Our institution migrated from a proprietary, home-grown solution that made searching for assets a huge chore. We are super pleased with Canto and the added functionality they've rolled out in just the six months since we became customers.

I love Canto. It took us from a bunch of external drives and a few servers of content that made it hard to track down what we needed to one location that makes finding assets so easy. Canto has been a huge time saver for us. I also really like that they take customer feedback seriously and their updates reflect that.

We have a media archive (mostly photos, some video) that stretches back a decade, covering multiple geographies and of very mixed quality -- some professional-grade images, others crude point-and-shoot options. Finding quality images way always a hassle. Canto's searchable database, thumbnail interface, albums feature, and ability to share content externally, have all been a boon for our productivity.
