Expensive program, unclear process, disappointing experience

I paid $9,800 for Career Growth in December 2025. Based on the sales process, I expected a professional, organized program with clear deliverables, reliable systems, and consistent support. That was not my experience.

I later learned there were different packages and pricing structures that were not clearly explained during the sales process. I was not given a clear picture of the available options, the differences between packages, or why similar services appeared to be offered at different price points.

I also experienced repeated problems during the program, including turnover in assigned staff, changing instructions, disputes over what counted toward requirements, and confusion about how my activity and compliance were being tracked. The expectations seemed to shift over time, making it difficult to understand what was actually required.

A major issue involved interview support. Before one interview, I had difficulty getting clear and timely information. I later learned my original salesperson had left and I was redirected to someone else for help. Although I later received an apology for delayed information, I was still given incorrect information. I attended the interview believing it would be with the hiring manager, but it turned out to be with a recruiter instead. I reported that discrepancy, but it was still counted as a “win.”

After these issues, I requested mutual termination of the contract and then received additional contract paperwork that raised further concerns.

I kept records of my communications and documents and ultimately filed a credit card dispute regarding the $9,800 charge. My card issuer later resolved the dispute in my favor and confirmed that the credit would remain on my account.

This review reflects my personal experience. Based on what I experienced, I would encourage anyone considering this service to read all contracts carefully, compare the written terms to the sales pitch, and keep detailed records.

UPDATE to CG's Response:
Regarding the interview:
The timing issue arose because I did not receive the interview details when requested during business hours the day before, which is what was originally promised and I never received. As a result, I was not able to properly prepare. Sending the details at approximately 3:00 a.m. was not, in my view, an appropriate or professional response.

Regarding the recruiter vs. hiring manager point:
My concern was not simply that the interview was with a recruiter. My concern was that I believed it was with the hiring manager, did not receive timely and accurate information, and that the discrepancy was later minimized instead of addressed. I also do not agree with the statement that I was unable to generate interviews on my own, as I was actively tailoring my own applications.

Regarding “multiple interview requests”:
Any interviews that resulted from applications I personally tailored and submitted should not automatically be credited to the program.

Regarding continued use of materials:
Continuing my job search or using materials already created does not mean my concerns were resolved. My concerns were about the lack of transparency, inconsistent service delivery, and the gap between what was promised and what I experienced.

Regarding not completing the program:
I chose not to continue because of repeated issues, including delayed and inaccurate information, shifting expectations, confusion around requirements, and concerns about tracking and reporting. The proposed resolution was not acceptable to me because it included additional restrictive terms.

Overall, I believe this response reflects the same pattern I experienced during the program: the issues were minimized or reframed rather than directly addressed.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Katherine. We take all client experiences seriously.

To provide some context — Katherine enrolled in the program available at the time, and all pricing, deliverables, and terms were outlined in the service agreement she signed before enrollment.

Regarding the interview referenced — our team conducted the outreach, secured the interview and coordinated the scheduling. When a timing concern arose outside of business hours, it was addressed first thing the following morning. The opportunity was never at risk.

Katherine notes that her interview was with an internal recruiter rather than a hiring manager, and characterizes that as a failure. For a client who had been struggling to generate interviews on her own, getting in front of an internal recruiter actively handling the role is a meaningful step forward in any job search — and yes, we do count that as a win.

It's also worth noting that Katherine received multiple interview requests during her short time with us, which speaks to the program working as intended.

She continued to actively pursue opportunities generated by our team even after requesting a refund, and to this day continues to use the professional assets our team created for her, and career materials we built from scratch. We believe that says a lot about the value of our work.

Unfortunately, she chose not to complete the program. We offered a resolution to her concerns before this situation escalated, which was declined.

We maintain detailed records of all service delivery, coaching sessions, communications, and client activity, and we stand behind the work performed.

Reading your agreement and asking questions is the bare minimum we expect from any professional investing in their career, and we welcome it. We're proud of the results we deliver and the clients we've helped land roles they love.

We wish Katherine the best in her search.

Job searching? Go elsewhere...

Their entire website speaks to people in the middle of a painful job search. Fill out their intake form and you'll discover that if you're currently unemployed, you don't qualify. The very situation they use to sell the service is apparently a disqualifying condition. Exploitative marketing targeting vulnerable people. Avoid.
