I have purchased from Chards on several occasions and they have always delivered. The web site is easy to use and payment is simple, once you have used them a couple of times. Just watch for banks stopping payment. Delivery is via the post office. Make sure you are in because it can be a faff tracking the parcel.

Buyer Beware
Received my order of 'minty maples', honestly the worst condition coins I have ever received from any dealer. Disputed quality of product with customer service operative firstly by phone, then email with supporting pictures. Dealer holds firm that that is the quality to be expected for minty coins, though one defiantly grade c, others dinged/scratched on edges with milkspots, and what looks something like brasso on edges. Customer service said would buy back at spot price, meaning I would lose premium I paid plus VAT.

“Minty” coins are bullion coins. They are not graded and they are not proof. As outlined on the product page, they are hand‑selected bullion pieces that may still show minor marks, edge toning, or milk spots, especially when second hand. These features are normal for bullion coins and do not impact metal purity, weight, or investment value. After reviewing the images provided, we confirmed the coins were within acceptable bullion standards.
We understand this may be disappointing. As the coins supplied meet bullion standards, our policy is to offer a buy‑back at the prevailing spot price, which is consistent across the bullion market.
If you are looking for coins in pristine, display‑quality condition, we recommend choosing proof or collector coins, which are manufactured and handled to a much higher finish.
We’re sorry that this order fell short of what you hoped for. We would like to know how we can improve to ensure customers are receiving all relevant information in order to make an informed decision before they purchase. This is my second purchase from Chards and I have been very pleased with the service and speed of delivery. The coins are always in excellent condition and the prices are always the best.
I was a little disappointed receiving 5 of the same coin, a little variety would have been appreciated. BUT I did order random minty so it's to be expected...part of the fun of ordering lucky dip!!

Quality coins with the real 'wow' factor

Royal Mail are not perfect, and while their timing can sometimes be inconvenient, we use them for the same reason most bullion dealers do: they remain one of the most affordable and secure options for insured precious metal deliveries. Keeping costs sensible on shipping allows us to continue offering a reliable and fully insured service without increasing prices for our customers.
For customers who need a more specific delivery timeframe, we can look into alternative Royal Mail upgrades on request, as these are additional services that are not part of our standard checkout options. We are always happy to help explore the best option for your needs.
We can also see that your order was delivered back in January, so it is possible that the Christmas and New Year backlog affected your delivery time, as Royal Mail often experience seasonal delays during that period.
