Snappy delivery. Good price for a nice product. Very happy with my set. Very quick response when I thought I had a problem with my order. Will happily use Chess Baron again.

I spent £230 on a chess board, no pieces - just the board. This was a Christmas gift. It was not as advertised, The finish was not high gloss, it was thinner and lighter than advertised, but worst of all it is warped! The very least you should expect of a chess board is that it is flat.
Appalling response from Chess Baron - they said it was warped because it is made from a tree!! They also said the measurements and finish are approximate. I didn’t pay for approximate, I paid for as advertised. Would not recommend

Ordered my first semi-decent chess board. It's hard to know where to choose to buy from with Chess. Either the sites are insanely priced, or they look like something from the 80s.

Chess Baron presented itself well, had a great choice of sets and the service was brilliant. Ordered my set, had DPD update within 48 hours, here within 24 hours after that.

Well packaged with a lovely "thanks for buying" letter. This is how small businesses are supposed to be.

So I searched high and low for 'the right chess set' for my husband. I found an amazing choice on ChessBaron but some of the reviews were poor. I took a punt and ordered and have had the BEST service from this company. Delivery was prompt within days, the chess set is amazing...beautiful marble in a presentation case.....When I had a question re my order Baron sorted it immediately. I would use this company again in a heartbeat. Full marks guys.

I bought my wife a very expensive so called hand made jewellery box. In less than one year the lid has warped and now doesn't close properly. On contacting ChessBaron it is apparently all down to "this unusual heat period"! In a north facing bedroom without direct sunlight ever falling on the box! Their suggested solution put two catches on it. So unless you live somewhere within the arctic circle I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
BTW their website states "Genuine customer service. We believe in, and work for, 100% customer satisfaction. It is all about the customer." my experience tells me this is not true and just a load of guff. Looking down the reviews it seems I'm not the only one.

Love it! I've searched everywhere for a backgammon board that is small in size to travel with but not technically a 'travel sized' board that is no use to anyone with it being so tiny. I also wanted the troughs to stop the pieces going 'missing' during the game (I found a lot of boards don't have these). Got exactly what I wanted though and worth every penny. I ordered the 12inch backgammon board. It is wonderfully made with attention to detail. Fast delivery. I'm sure we'll spend many hours with this. Thank you Chess Baron.

Absolutely terrible experience. I have bought over 10 chess sets in the past 2 years and this was by far the worst experience. I spent 600$ on a chess set from chess baron and it came damaged. Three of the pieces were obviously broken. I sent pictures to the company and he said that he did not see any damage. I then requested to return the set since it was damaged. He said that I could at my expense which was 100$. This company is absolute feces, can’t say the actual word on the review,so I would stay away at all cost

Really fast delivery, lovely quality set, not cheap but you get what you pay for.

I just received my replica Isle of Lewis chessmen from Baron today and couldn’t be more thrilled! The pieces are of superb quality, and perfectly match the fantastic photos on the website. Shipping from Great Briton to the US was much faster than expected, and Baron was extremely responsive by phone. I highly recommend ChessBaron.com.

ChessBaron is a barony without a castle, let alone nobility.
Having bought two chess sets with ChessBaron, my loyalty has been slashed with irony and disdain once I decided to return a flawed and faulty set. It was agreed in writing that my purchase would be refunded upon return.
For the return, ChessBaron chose their own courier, which unfortunately broke the board during transit. Rather than dealing with their courier, ChessBaron assumed that I was to take the loss.
So be aware: instead of a knight in shining armour riding a noble steed, ChessBaron is riding a ragged mule loaded with cupidity and disdain.
As a loyal customer, here is my advice: don't be pawned by ChessBaron, the game is wicked.

So happy with my order which arrived today. Was panicking a bit after reading some reviews but my worry was unnecessary.

The Triple Weight Margaret Anne 3.5 inch Anjanwood set looks even better that the pictures & feels great to move, nicely weighted.

The leather mat is the perfect size & sits nice & flat, i did think it may lift at edges a bit bit no.

Finally the box which I didn’t particularly need but finishes off the set nicely & hopefully something nice i can pass down to my daughter etc etc.

Ordered at the weekend, was well packaged & it arrived in 4 working days.

I extensively research the market and found CB head and shoulders above all others the sets are more beautiful than any I'd seen anywhere else I purchased a wonderful set promptly delivered and more than meets expectatiobs for weight and beauty and customer service was excellent.

Cant be trusted. Sells plywood boards advertised as solid wood. Will not give any customer service for defective items. The website is pretty but you will spend twice as much as you would for same quality as elsewhere. Once he has your money you are screwed.
