With only two carriages at peak time treated like cattle, even the driver could not close the doors. all I get told we do not guarantee a seat so you have to stand from Wendover to London 08.47

I always have had great experiences on Chiltern Railways. Helpful and pleasant staff.
Their contract should be revoked
Apparently there was a time when this company were gold. Those days are long gone. Regular commuter from Haddenham & Thame to London here.
1. V overpriced tickets for not enough carriages to service the number of customers. Often sitting on the floor or the luggage rack ( old trains and luggage racks at the end of some carriages) especially on the home journey.
2. I have never found reduced tickets from early booking, ever.. I dont think they exist.
2. Old and dirty trains, charging points as one would expect in 2024 are few and far between. I wouldnt mind their age if there was enough of them and I got a seat for my £47.80 return ticket ( with a Network Railcard).
3. Ticket inspectors checking tickets regularly, sometimes twice a day whilst you’re stuffed in like a sardine can. One regular inspector shouts out as he enters the carriage ‘tickets, passes and excuses’ and has an agressive tone when he questions.
4. Queue management to get through the barriers by Chiltern staff at Marylebone poor..
5. Asking for assistance at Marylebone station from staff has often been unhelpful, there’s a not really bothered about offering a ‘service’
or helping attitude.
6. Announcing train platforms at Marylebone is always last minute, creating a rush of people running to get a seat when it is, because there just arent enough carriages. An elderly person, disabled or pregnant doesnt have time to get to the train in a calm fashion.
8. Train drivers dont really speak to keep passengers on a train informed when there is a delay/issue.

Getting on the wrong train
After a platform change I ended on the wrong train travelling across the country. Abi, a ticket inspector for Chiltern Railways was amazing at guiding me through a number of changes to get to my original destination. I was so lucky to find him at the time of my peak stress!

Boarded the 907 am train to Oxford and after 15 mins the trainer driver announced the train was faulty and it was cancelled. Got on the 937 am train and waited 15 mins before the the driver again announced that train was faulty. Appalling company..

Such a helpful member of on platform staff. Offered to drive a buggy to help my stepmother off the train. I was meeting her. He went out of his way to find the correct platform. Very heartwarming experience.

Waited almost an hour for a train scheduled every 10 minutes. 2 cancelled, next was so full not everyone could get on, then the next was 20 minutes delayed. Does not deserve their contract to run this service.

£30 for a ticket to Birmingham- filthy train with no tables or charging ports and WiFi that doesn’t even work.

Great chiltren railways service from leamington spa The class 168 train was clean and tidy and on time. The men's toi;ets at leamington spa had some soap dispensers not work but solihull had working ones but the toilets smelt at solihull. I always like the trains apart from 165 one so we will be using them again.
One of the best train companies in the UK!
Expensive..... but worth it! Chiltern Railways are, in my opinion, one of the best UK train companies, almost nothing to complain about, their trains are very impressive, especially their silver set trains! I've been between Birmingham and London only once on Chiltern in my life at the time of writing this, and it was by far one of the best train rides of my life, Chiltern run along a very unique and scenic route, their staff are very friendly, honestly, Chiltern Railways..... the definition of the words useful and reliable, keep up your fantastic work Chiltern!!!

You can tell the trains been neglected. It needs a good clean.

Would like to thank the staff at leamington Spa. The ticket office couldn’t have been more helpful and on Wednesday September 14th two men at the ticket barrier helped me through the barrier and o the lift. Also a member of staff helped me onto the train. I can’t remember the names of the men at the barrier but I think one was Mick? Many thanks for your service.
Shocking and disorganised
I've been living with the run down state of the trains, that often you get charged excessive prices and have to stand up on a train into London for about an hour.
Now it's total disorganisation ... Standing at platform one with the arrival of the train proudly announced.. up it rocks at platform 2. So stampede of all the passengers up and over the bridge. (Not great for any pensioners as the lifts broken too)
All we get is I did not know from the driver so no body accepts responsibility. It's frankly shameful.
Chiltern was one of the good train lines now it's a joke like all the others.
The score here proves they just don't care and have no level of professionalism in what they do.
Great toilets at Marylebone
I wanted to say the Ladies toilets at Marylebone Station were very clean. Bleach down the toilet I used and a cleaner on site. The best station toilets I've seen. Train was on time and comfortably air conditioned on a hot day.
Ridiculous air conditioning
Went on the train in early August in 26 degree heat and on the way to Marylebone and on the way back there was no air conditioning. Felt uncomfortably hot and no air conditioning was ever turned on the whole train ride home. The journey was about two hours long
