Great training and a great organization
Circuit Stream is great. The classes are fast paced, and get you the training you need to get started. Like most trainings, they can't give you everything you need in 8-10 weeks. There's just not enough time to absorb it all, but that is also where they excel with great support for their grads. They don't just get you started and leave you. They stand by you and support you. You get the tools and the helping hand to get launched and become a success. Can't say enough good things about them! Definitely worth it!
Exceeded my expecations
I'm extremely happy to have started my learning in XR with Circuit Stream. Coming from 20 years in film and video production, I wasn't sure what to expect when I enrolled - given that I didn't have any experience in coding. I had tried my best to learn what I could from youtube tutorials for a few months, but got frustrated without the support of an instructor and the commitment of enrolling in a class. I started with one of their bundles which allowed me to get a beginner friendly introduction to C# before continuing on to the XR development course. My instructor was really amazing and my appreciation for him only grew once moving on to the next course. It is clear that he loves what he does and is excited to help students learn. The courses designed for beginners and are part time but I found that I needed to spend extra time to understand the concepts and re-watch the recordings. In addition, office hours and the slack community were very valuable resources to have access to because learning C# concepts, syntax and logic is so new to me. I found it great to be able to interact with other students through Slack DM, who could share the "my brain is melting" moments, and then celebrate when the concepts finally click.
I'm signed up for the design course in another month and plan to do the accelerator course this year too as my ideas grow and related work starts to come in. If you are serious about getting into XR development and don't know where to start, I highly reccommend Circuit Stream. Their team, instructors and community are very supportive.
Never stop learning
Never stop learning. That was one of the first things an instructor said to us in class when we first started, and I immediately knew I was in the right place. This is a wonderful rock-solid foundation course that moves quickly, and requires a lot from students, but it is well worth it. I feel with confidence that I got my money's worth out of what I took (C#, XR Dev, Design). Next step: project accelerator which spends a lot of time working on a personal capstone project.
Another great element of Circuit Stream is the sense of community. I truly feel like it is a close-knit community of like-minded people interested in learning, sharing, helping, and having fun. If you ever wanted to learn something new at the forefront of tech and/or are curious about XR... these guys are the best at it.
You get what you pay for.
I was a part of the VR & AR Development for Unity class that started in November 2019 and ended in March 2020. I found a contractor role in Unity development shortly after in November 2020 (the pay for this role covered the cost of the course after 4 months of work), building off the projects and skill-sets I gained at circuit stream. Sure you can probably find the same lessons online for free, however I can guarantee you that you will not find the same caliber of instructors anywhere else. The community is extremely forward-looking and supportive (something you won't get from the comment section of Youtube), just be sure to go into the course extremely motivated.
the teachers are effin' great
very knowledge and experienced teachers. they had answers for everything, it was very impressive. i had some unity experience but they broadened my knowledge and skill set so much more than i could have imagined.
The courses are way over-priced and not…
The courses are way over-priced and not worth it at all. You are better off learning from YouTube or Udemy. Trust me on this.
... up until I stumbled upon Circuit Stream
I always wanted to learn more about XR/VR/AR but I never knew where to start... up until I stumbled upon Circuit Stream. It is a platform driven by passionate and inspiring people which I had the chance to meet during the workshops and courses I engaged in.
The highlight of my experience was the 10-week XR development course. Aside from being very well paced and beginner friendly, the 1:1 sessions were the extra push to bring a personal project to life.
Tyrell is more than just a knowledgeable instructor, he teaches with dedication and passion.
I would highly recommend anyone who's interested in the world of XR to engage in Circuit Stream, whether through the free workshops, the courses or the community. They're always working on new exciting ideas and their highly motivated team is there to help and support at any time.
Skilling up and future proofing my career
For about a year I've been thinking of learning new skills, try something new, explore new challenges. VR was one are I was really interested in but didn't know where to start. After reading countless articles/blogs, and a basic course on Udemy, I still didn't know where to begin, or knew the mindset to have to truly plunge in. So I spent a lot of time feet-wetting, tipping my toes in and never really going for a swim.
Once the Covid-19 hit the US, I felt like it was time to seriously make changes. I saw an ad for Circuit Stream and felt it was just what I needed at the right time. I knew that paying for it would give the extra kick to my motivation. Once I saw the price, my jaw kinda-dropped to be honest, but it was a small price to pay from what I'd hoped to be getting.
The biggest selling point was the 1:1 mentoring in addition to the lectures (which are recorded and can access forever). I had my own idea and the mentor helped me bring it to life. There's no price you can put on that. Now I have a VR project in my portfolio at a time when it's on the verge of blowing up.
I was hesitant when I first heard about…
I was hesitant when I first heard about the course, but after attending several free workshops, I decided to give it a shot. Yes it's a lot of money, but the knowledge and support I get can't be bought by money, not to mention the confidence and the community this course has given me.
My instructor and mentor are very knowledgable and patient. I think Circuit Stream hires people with genuine interest in helping others. This course does require a lot of work, classes are recorded so I can rewatch them as many times as I want.
How do I feel as an alumni......I miss having those classes!
A review for my past self
I'm writing this review because it's what I would want to know prior to taking the XR development course. I paid out of pocket, and I was honestly hesitant to sign up because it is a lot of money. After taking the full course now, I think this class was actually worth way more, and I’ve already recommended it to others I know personally. The biggest reason to take the class is that both the instructor and mentor were so helpful and knowledgeable anytime I got stuck, which is help that I couldn’t get from free tutorials or youtube videos. When I started the class, I wouldn’t even know where to begin with starting a VR or AR project, but now I feel like I could at least make working VR/AR prototypes.
This class is beginner friendly (I didn’t have programming experience coming in), but the instructor did give extra challenges for the people who were more advanced than me, so I think they tailor instruction to the class well. The pace was fast for me, and I felt like I learned so much every week, but it didn’t feel overwhelming. I actually liked that there was so much to learn each week, because it felt like I was getting my money’s worth. It is a big time commitment, though, and you get out of it what effort you put in. Expect to spend 10-20 hours a week on this class, depending on how much you want to get out of it. There are 4-5 hours a week of class/mentor time (It’s technically 4 hours, but the instructor stayed late almost every class to answer questions). I spent another 5 hours on the homework each week or rewatching the lectures (all the classes are recorded and I rewatched most on 2X speed). Then I would spend about 5-10 hours a week on my independent project. I didn’t want to waste time with my mentor on questions I could have googled, so I tried to make progress between each 1:1 mentor session and have a list of questions ready for each session. This class basically took all my free time for a couple months, but I really tried to take advantage of having an expert instructor and mentor to ask questions to. If you want to feel comfortable with Unity quickly and have the time to spend 10 weeks without nights/weekends, I would highly recommend this class because it won’t waste your time and you will learn a lot.
I am very glad I took the XR Development with Unity course at Circuit Stream
I am very happy I took the XR Development with Unity course at Circuit Stream. I enjoyed the classes and most importantly I learned a lot. I am a 3D artist that wants to learn about AR and VR.
I thought the 10 weeks are well structured: every week has 2 classes on different days and 1 hour weekly 1 on 1 with the teacher to work on a personal project of our choice, either VR or AR.
The content of the classes is well organized: it covers a wide range of AR and VR topics and it suggests a weekly homework to master the material covered on a practical assignment. In addition, the classes are recorded so it gives the chance to review the material after the class if necessary.
The teacher was attentive, well prepared, and very helpful in guiding the personal project.
Overall the course offers great structured classes and homework assignments, 1 hour one on one weekly to work on personal projects, knowledgable and helpful teachers, and very friendly support staff.
It exceeded my expectations.

Solid Unity Training
The XR Development with Unity Class from Circuit Stream has been a great introduction to AR/VR development and has given me many practical skills. I especially enjoyed the AR projects. In terms of the content, there is a lot to learn and sometimes the pace is a bit quick. The structure of the course does account for this though as they offer recordings, one-on-one sessions and discussion forums. The instructors are very knowledgeable and attentive. I’d definitely take another class at Circuit Stream and recommend it to those looking to get into XR Development.
XR Development with Unity Course
This class was outstanding!
I am compelled to share my thoughts about the recent XR Development with Unity Course class by CircuitStream. I have taken dozens of courses over my 30 years as an IT professional. However, this class has been the best class I have ever taken. Rich Beare was an outstanding instructor and his knowledge of Unity was evident in each and every class. He provided excellent working examples and was always able to breakdown class topics and eliminate the anxiety of learning a new language.
I owe my newfound confidence and passion for working in Unity completely to Rich and CircuitStream. I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking to get started in XR development.
VR/AR nerds(tutors)
Took their VR course a few years ago and I loved every minute. Having the one on ones help me get my project where I wanted faster. Also they are so nice. You are excited to be in the class!!
I did the VR course and been tempted to go back for their AR course.
I took Circuit Streams AR/VR…
I took Circuit Streams AR/VR Development course and found it to be an excellent experience. The course covered everything I needed to know to get started in AR/VR development. The individual mentoring sessions were invaluable in resolving issues with my personal project. I would sign up for an advanced course if offered.
