Happy Invicta buyer
I’ve bought two watches so far online and it’s been a very simple experience. DHL are superb even when I had to change delivery address there service Center was excellent. The important experience for me is the confidence to buy again.

An Orient and a Seiko!
Ordered an Orient and a Seiko as i like the Japanese automatic watches. The communication from citywatches was really good. The products could be tracked and were on the ground in NZ within 4 days. The watches themselves were well packaged and exactly as described. Great experience will order again.

Prices are too good to be true
AVOID THIS STORE!!!
Purchased a Fossil watch from City Watches, which turned out to be faulty 2 months later.
Upon contacting them, I was advised to bring the watch to my local Fossil repair agent, which I did.
I received a $100 repair quote as City Watches is not an authorised Fossil reseller.
City Watches refused to pay for repair or replacement of a brand new watch.
It's better to spend a bit more and get a fully supported watch elsewhere.

Fast and smooth checkout process. Shipping took a bit longer than expected, but understandable during the pandemic. Item arrived as described and came with warranty card. The package was well packed with bubbles wrap and foams.

Not a NZ company and will not repair/fix/replace your watch if it breaks
I highly recommend you do not buy from this company.
If anything goes wrong with your watch they will not cover it (despite what they may reply to this review). Trust me I have been through this long process.
The company is not in any way related to New Zealand (they are based in Singapore). They own similar companies in Australia and the United Kingdom (to name a few) that are also based out of Singapore. You will also find reviews of other people having the same problems as me at citywatches.co.uk, downunderwatches.co.au, and creationwatches.com.
Essentially this means that the NZ consumer guarantees act has little jurisdiction over them if your watch breaks and they refuse to refund/fix/replace it.
I only had my watch for 5-6months before it broke and they refused to help. It was also a watch that I hardly ever wore and it is supposed to be known as very tough (possibly not real then?). Responses to emails generally take over a week. Eventually, they offered a mere $10usd refund for a much more expensive watch.
This company may also state that their watches also have a manufacturer warranty along with their own warranty (that they don't stick by). Beware, if you go into your watch brand's service centre to claim this warranty, they will decline to fix it under the manufacturer's warranty because citywatches.co.nz is not an authorised dealer of any watch brand.
I respect other people who have had positive experiences, however, in those cases, they are lucky to have not been sent a faulty watch. This review is a warning that if you do get sent a faulty watch or it breaks within the warranty period, citywatches.co.nz will not take any responsibility for it.
I'm sure this review will get some sort of generic response trying to defend themselves. Please just don't risk buying from them or you could lose a decent amount of money if something goes wrong.
If you do get into trouble with them, dispute the transaction with your bank and they will arrange to credit you and for citywatches bank to debit them. This worked for me and I got my money back.
