I've used Class Dojo in my classroom…

I've used Class Dojo in my classroom for so long now I can't even remember when I started. It's part of my back-to-school plan every year. With busy parents and so many forms of communication, it's nice to have one central hub for everything classroom and parent-related.

I use the points system as part of my classroom management system, and the kids go wild for it! Even my 5th graders get excited to hear the "ding" knowing someone got a point. (I don't take points away in my classroom).

I love that I can easily share pictures, documents, and assignments, and they can do the same with me. It all stays in one location, and it's easy to search for information when I need it.

I share my class with all the staff members they work with daily so everyone can access parents' contacts, behavior contracts, notes, and the same classroom management program. (consistency is key!)

And the best part for me as a busy teacher is my admin can access all of my parent contacts and notes. Having them in the loop cuts down on interruptions during my lessons and can also be used as part of my teaching evaluation.

ClassDojo: A Crucial Part of the School Day!

I use ClassDojo daily in my classroom, and it has become an indispensable tool for both student engagement and parent communication. One of the standout features is the Portfolios, which allow students to showcase their work and progress. Parents love being able to see their child's achievements and activities in real time, making engagement seamless and meaningful.

The kids are particularly enthusiastic about playing on Dojo Island. The challenges are not only fun but educational. Recently, we completed a math lesson on rectangular arrays in the build zone, and the interactive platform made the concept much easier for the students to grasp.

ClassDojo has significantly enhanced the learning experience in my classroom. It keeps students motivated and parents involved, making it a crucial part of our daily routine. Highly recommended!

It has changed my teaching practice 💚💚, it fits awesome in the way I communicate with families and kids. My classroom mood has improved. Some features are needed but I wrote a mail and they answered me, that are working on them, hope they be sooner.

Don’t doubt about giving it a try! 💚

I have been using this app since 2018, and I couldn’t be happier.
Class dojo has helped me on building relationships from which I benefit in multiple ways, I have a teacher community who supports me and helps me in anyway I need, besides they cheer on me (and any teacher) on whatever we try to accomplish.
Now when it comes to my job it has also made my life way easier, it provides me with tools to have a better classroom management and with tons and tons of activities and materials that I can use in my classes therefore making planning way easier, let’s not forget the kids, my kids love class dojo and it has made our classroom feel like a small second home for them, it has made it their safe place, so when it comes to class dojo, I have only and a million good things to say, don’t doubt on downloading the app if you want to build a better community in your classroom.

Classdojo has helped a lot as a teacher! It has been very useful not only to motivate my students and make them independent on their learning but also it is a terrific tool to stay in touch with families! It offers a chance to post and share pictures of the day to day in the classroom so parents can see what their students are working on. Totally recommended!

I signed up my 3rd grader for creative…

I signed up my 3rd grader for creative writing help and I only wanted 3 classes for one week. They automatically signed him up for 6 classes over 2 weeks. Then I learned you can’t just call them everything has to go through email. So I wrote them to say I only wanted the 3 classes and I didn’t want to be charged for 6. They emailed back after 3 days and handled the request. We were all ready for the next session and received an email being told they have “handled it for us and canceled the entire account”. I feel this was petty and unnecessary. I am still seeing the charges on my credit card too but the class we had at 6 was indeed canceled as well as any other classes. I again had to email and ask for my money back because of this and I have zero faith they will fix this in a timely manner. I’ll probably just call my credit company and count it as fraudulent.

April 4 2024 update: I received an email Class Dojo challenged this review and wants it removed if I wouldn’t prove I was a customer for them by providing my full name, email, a reference number which is absurd because they only send anything close to that with a refund (which I did recover $25 eventually from them) and my phone number. I have provided all of that information ONLY because they are trying to have this review removed.

Thanks for your review, Beth. Given your experience with us, it's totally understandable. We're sorry we fell so short of expectations; there were clearly errors with your subscription, and I'm sorry that you didn't receive better service when we made a mistake.

While it can't undo your experience, we wanted to provide you with some additional details so you know more about who we are and how we operate.

1) We've made improvements very recently that should prevent the types of issues you experienced from happening in the future, such as giving parents self-serve options to reschedule or cancel a class and to unsubscribe entirely.

2) We ask for additional information so that we can look up your account, address any unresolved issues, and learn more that can help us improve. We only ask when necessary to accomplish these goals, not as a means to have reviews removed.

Your initial review indicated that you still saw charges on your credit card, which should've been refunded. We wanted to ensure that your refund had been processed and that there were no other pending charges. As your update indicates, we have already refunded you for the canceled class and further, there are no incorrect or additional charges.

3) Unfortunately, Trustpilot doesn't allow us to customize what information is requested for follow-up. We would definitely remove the "reference number" field and make it more specific to our company if we could :)

Thank you for giving Dojo Tutor a try. If you ever want to come back again, please know that we'll do everything we can to make sure that your next experience goes a whole lot better!

I really do not like using this app for…

I really do not like using this app for school. I wish the school would get rid of it. It is constantly asking for you to pay a subscription and whenever there's a 'message' from the teacher or whoever you can never find it. Then if you do miraculously happen to find it, it won't delete the 'new message'symbol so you're constantly having to go in and check in case you are missing something. I spend ages searching and searching for the so-called message. I'm a busy mum, I really don't have the time thank you.

Not a great app!

Not a great app! Constantly asking you to upgrade and get more functionality or so that you can see history further back than 7days, so if you want to check you child’s behaviour history say 2 weeks ago you can’t unless you pay! Please if you are a school looking to use an app system- do not choose this one, there are better ones out there, our school went from an easy to use app that was used by the senior school in the MAT where if you had children of different ages they were all on one app to class dojo- really NOT a fan!

Don't give them your money!

What in the world is the point of this app? Why is there a need to charge for an interface between students, teachers, and parents? If it's used by public school systems there should not be a fee... period! And trying to lock "points" behind a pay wall as a means of "motivation." This app is seriously a scam.

Amazing service!! When you have a problem, which there rarely is, you get so much help and support very quickly. I would use Classdojo anyday, parent or teacher!
