ClearSale (by Hometrust) not to be Trusted
ClearSale (by Hometrust) is not to be trusted or believed.
I started with them back in April. I have a home with many upgrades - windows, insulation, fireplace, hottub, owned Solar Panels ($22k). It needed a little work - painting and drywall repair.
I dealt with Carissa and Brian. After I fixed a few things (redid the bathroom and painted the kitchen) Brian finally came out and inspected my house.
He told me I had foundation problems and cracks in both the foundation and the walls. I hired two foundation engineers who both told me the same thing - no repairs necessary to sell. Slight settling, SUPERFICIAL cracks. House and Foundation structurally sound.
When Brian finally gave me his "offer" he told me: "Well, I think your house is worth $380K. I'll give you $260K for it".
When I expressed shock, he started whining, "Well...we're going to have to do about $50K of repairs and remodeling, and then we have to pay an agent and listing fees and closing costs".
When I confronted him with what their website says "You’ll pay NO fees and NO commissions when we buy your house. We pay ALL closing costs associated with the transaction.", and then reminded him that he was telling me that since he had to pay them he was passing those costs on to me - he had nothing to say.
Well, I put $10K worth of fixing up into my house and sold it for $360K - 10K over asking.
Clearsale and Hometrust are full of lies and broken promises.
