Avoid booking at all costs!

Avoid booking with this company at all costs! I booked two coaches with Coach Hire 4 u to transport a group of 30 people for corporate events over 2 separate days, and experienced terrible service from beginning to end.

My repeated attempts to emphasise a specific pick-up location ahead of the day (due to being in a rural location) were ignored, and led to a significant delay in pick-up, whereby our coach driver repeatedly went the wrong way, and then parked in a different location, demanding that we come to him. Due to his refusal to pick us up from our designated location, our group had to walk upwards of 15 minutes to reach him, despite assurances to the driver from both us and our hotel that coaches and school buses pick up and drop off from the location specified in the booking all the time. When we eventually left this new location, we were 50 minutes behind our scheduled departure time. Upon leaving, it quickly transpired our coach driver had made no effort to plan a route to our location suitable for the size of the coach he was driving (he instead used google maps); this meant we frequently had to re-route away from roads we couldn't go down, and a journey that should have taken 40 minutes took us over an hour and a half. We arrived at our destination over an hour and a half later than expected. Our return journey was thankfully shorter, not due to the driver using the time at our location to research the return journey, but because a member of our party volunteered to direct him back more efficiently.

Given the extent of the delay, I spoke to our driver for the next day that evening, emphasising the location of pick up and suggesting a buffer of time would be helpful. Our contact at the hotel spoke with our coach driver mid-morning, telling him they will meet him at the car park from the previous day, and direct him down to our pickup point. When, at 12:30, they called up to check his progress, he informed them he was running 10 minutes late, and will legally require a half hour break in addition to this delay (minimum, 40-minute delay in total). Given our previous day’s experience, and the time-sensitive nature of us making it to our location, we had to come up with alternative transportation to take us to our location, and did not use the coach at all. While we appreciate that delays can occur due to traffic, it's completely unacceptable that Coach Hire 4 U didn't factor the driver's legally required rest breaks into the schedule. There was also no effort made to communicate any delays to us. We only found out about the delays and the driver's legal break requirements when we contacted Coach Hire 4 U ourselves. There was no apology from the driver, and frankly the driver’s attitude to the team was rude and non-cooperative.

Given the experience listed above, we made the decision to complain to Coach Hire 4 u and request a small, but in our option entirely reasonable, partial refund. Not only did it take the company over 3 weeks to respond to this complaint, the response we did receive was defensive and largely ignored the issues we'd outlined. We will not be using Coach Hire 4 U as a supplier anymore and I recommend that anyone looking to book a coach looks elsewhere.

HI Suzie, there are always 3 sides to a story, yours, mine and reality. I belive our version of events supported by factual Docs is closer to reality. we have thousands of reviews across many reviews sites ranging from 4.5 - 4.8 * and this speaks volumes.
We did investigate your complaint thoroughly. We supplied you with Tachograph and Tracking data. CCTV images. This info does not support your complaint. Tachographs are calibrated by the DVSA ( ministry of Transport ) and relied upon in court. Day 1, was the location. the coach would not fit through the country hotel gates, but did arrive on time, but had to reverse back through this tiny narrow Cotswold village. there is a carpark at the top of the village that was created for this reason. And your group then had to walk 15 minutes to it. The hotel confirmed large coaches can't enter the estate Gates. Both entrances are two Small for our size of vehicle. This was bad planning by the event organiser, we can't be held to account for the coaches not fitting through the gates. Day 2 the coach arrived at 13:52 this time the coach park in the village was selected. The driver was called around 12:20 and asked his ETA he advised his satNav is stating 14:10 due to an RTA and if it gets worse he may may have to take a legal break of 30minutes. no further calls were made. The traffic eased and the driver arrived 8 minutes early and the legal 30 minute break was not necessary. The driver called the group leader to advise he was in position, but no answer. The driver then tried the hotel reception to be advised by the receptionist the coach was no longer required. as they have decided to travel by multiple taxis. The driver waited to take instructions from his operations and at 14:15 several taxis passed by the coach park

Clearly we don't agree with your opinion. And believe your denands for a full refund are not warranted. You are not taking responsibility for selecting a venue that was built for horse and carriage not modern day coaches an executive coach was never suitable for this venue, hence why there is a car and coach park at the top of the village on the main road. If you stood the coach down at 12:20 on day 2 we would have considered some kind of refund for day 2 but you allowed the coach and driver to continue another 75 miles. You did not communicate any further with driver or our Operations centre. You pointlessly allowed the coach to continue and did not use it, but expect a refund.

Drivers are legally required to take legal breaks after driving periods. drivers have no choice. The breaks are designed to ensure drivers are rested and passengers are safe. You cant just ignore them because they dont fit the schedule. The driver was advised on day 2 if he was delayed any further he may need a break, but as the traffic eased that was not necessary.

Raheel, You are a Star!!

We recently had the pleasure of travelling with driver Raheel on Sunday for an inclusive sports event in central London. We had a car full of children and young people with disabilities. Unfortunately, the event organizers provided an incorrect address, and we were dropped off in the wrong location.

Raheel remained calm and incredibly helpful throughout this unexpected detour. Despite the ongoing challenges, he happily drove us around for an additional 30 minutes until we found the correct venue. His positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile were truly appreciated.

On the way back, we requested an early pick-up due to unforeseen circumstances. Once again, Raheel exceeded expectations. He arrived even earlier, a full hour before the scheduled pick-up time, and patiently waited until all participants were collected from the event. Even with some traffic on the return trip, he ensured a safe and comfortable journey for everyone.

Raheel's smile, friendly demeanor, and exceptional service were instrumental in making our day a success. Thank you so much, Raheel! You truly are a star!

Day trip to France

The drivers were hugely flexible and moved things around to suit our ever-changing itinerary.
The coaches were lovely and clean.

Kosta was such a friendly, attentive and lovely driver to have on our journey to Brighton! He was such a pleasure to chat to and made all of us aboard feel so welcome and comfortable. Even with the terrible UK traffic he managed to make the journey feel as though it flew by with a breeze.

Scott takes his job very seriously and want to look after his passengers. you can have the best coach and Operations/Reservations team , but a bad driver will ruin the Service, fortunately we have great drivers, doesn't happen by accident though.

Cancellation 3 nights before wedding

70 seater coach cancelled 3 nights before being required for our wedding night. We ordered a coach to collect our guests from our wedding venue and take them back to a hotel that we were all staying at. During booking, card payment was not accepted for some reason, but they kindly offered a ‘cash in the day’ option. Bit strange as it was a fair amount of money, however they offered it and it worked for me, so went with the cash option. Got an email to say there was a problem, 3 days before the event, so I rang straight away. I was advised by a man that I could barely understand, that the cash option was no longer available, to which I thought “fine, I’ll just pay card”; however his next sentence was that he had absolutely nothing to offer as an alternative and the coach had been booked else where. Could not help at all. Didn’t seem interested in trying to help. Not fussed that he had left me stranded with just days to go to try and shift 55/60 people from a wedding venue to a hotel. Absolute joke, very dissapointed, and not what you need when you are trying to finalise a wedding! Avoid at all costs.

Luke is an experienced driver

Luke is an experienced driver. He informed us from beginning to end about all the things we need to do or take into consideration. He waited for is and changed times and locations when we needed to. We had a 12 hour long journey in total, split into 2 days, but we barely felt the time passing by because we were really comfortable. Thank you, Luke! You are amazing!

We have many drivers like Luke, we spend time on the selection process and we also pay them well to get the best. Once employed they then get trained to perform to the standards our customers expect.

Bus arrived an hour late

Bus arrived an hour late. Granted, there was traffic jam due to a crash. However, he should’ve arrived at least 30 minutes to an hour prior our port arrival. We had to wait an hour. The driver, Scott, (good one by the way) was sent alone and since he had been driving for more than 2 hours had to stop for 30 minutes of break, which made us to arrive more late to our excursion in London, missing the change of guard. Plus, we were not able to make our visit to Stonehenge because of all this ordeal. Not recommending, giving only a star because the driver was very nice and did what he could.

Hi Patricia, we sympathise and are deeply sorry the Motorway crash spoilt your trip. Our team informed your group on the day of the issues. Drivers can only drive for so long before they legally must take a break. Scott did not take a break for the sake of it, he had no choice. Safety must always come 1st & the legislation is there to keep everyone safe. There was nothing Scot or Operations could have done to prevent the accident. The road ahead was clear when he left his base, but the accident happened ahead of him whilst he was enroute. If the service was poor I accept 1* but you had a new coach and a great drive who tried his best. Giving us 1* for a 2 hour dely due to an accident is harsh. I am not sure what else you expected Scot to do in the circumstances, but I do understand your disappointment.

i was on an easy jet bus and Scott was on time, kind towards me and all other users of the easy jet bus. he was on time, the coach was clean, smelt nice and scott was very welcoming.
